Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments Jackie, listen to Louis Armstrong's version! "La Vie en Rose"--

Hold me close and hold me fast
The magic spell you cast
This is la vie en rose

When you kiss me heaven sighs
And though I close my eyes
I see la vie en rose

When you press me to your heart
I'm in a world apart
A world where roses bloom

And when you speak...angels sing from above
Everyday words seem...to turn into love songs

Give your heart and soul to me
And life will always be
La vie en rose

Angela~twistedmind~ (twistedmind) | 538 comments Jimi Hendrix, solo guitar rendition of the Star Spangled Banner, watching a docu of Woodstock. I think it's too cool that my mama was there. I think it's quite embarrassing that she became scared of the other people. :/

message 648: by Cynthia (new)

Cynthia Paschen | 7333 comments At my dear friend Phil's funeral yesterday, these fine choices:
"God Bless the Child" by Billie Holiday and Arthur Herzog, Jr. (piano)
and by a fabulous barbershop quartet:
"Lida Rose" by Meredith Willson
and "I'll Fly Away," by Albert E. Brumley.

The latter ripped me apart.
