Also I know this isn't what you were asking Crystal, but I think the people that write the script for the show haven't given some of the character's justice. Some of the things they do or act doesn't exactly seem like how Harris wrote it, but that may just be me...
Yeah I agree with you Natalia, after reading most of the books(I'm almost on book 10 lol), I would think they'd cast someone more attractive than the person they have playing as Sam. But I guess they decided to change things about the characters and the script(as you've stated). I think it's just so things aren't exactly the same and to keep people guessing. But I'm sure you already knew that lol.

Jason also doesn't match up my personal picture of him. I always saw him as bigger and more muscular.
Alex is great as Eric--but again--I thought he'd be a bit bigger and more muscular. He was supposed to be a VIKING and to fight with a battle axe. And those suckers (the axes) are heavy, and would have built up a pretty impressive set of muscles. But I'm not really complaining too much, since Alex is one of the very few (ok, the ONLY) blond that I've ever really drooled over. :o)
Anna does not look anything like I was expecting either. She's not quite buxom enough, and there is no WAY she's a size 10, which is how Sookie describes herself. But then again, I didn't really expect Hollywood to put a size 10 on TV as anything but "the fat best friend" either. Since according to Hollywood, if you are bigger than a six 4 you are "over-weight" and anything over an 8 is "morbidly obese".
I agree with everything you said Ann, it's really sad about the whole Hollywood criteria thing. But then again it's Hollywood, so I guess we have to expect them to be that way. Although it would of been nice if they decided to use someone that was more normal. It might have related to audiences better and showed that you don't have to have the best body to act. But that's just my opinion.
An yeah Alex plays a great Eric in my opinion as well. An even though I think he has a nice body, he could of worked out a little more to become a little more muscular. 'Cause as you said, if you're a viking you would of had to lift some really heavy weapons. An most likely would of become a lot more bulkier in the muscle regions.

I don't like Evan Rachel Wood as the queen Sophie Anne. The way she's described in the book she's young (15 or 16) and short. I think a teen actor would be better in this role or at least someone shorter :)
I also thing Alan and CO. did an excellent job with casting Pam. Kristen Bauer plays Pam just as i expect her to be.
I agree with you Stephanie, I love the way the actress plays Pam. She's one of my favorites. She's just so collected and sarcastic, I love it lol.

Jayme(the ghost reader) wrote: "She isn't as friendly in the series as she becomes later in the books. Pam and Sookie develop a friendship and I am not seeing that yet."
Yeah I agree with you there, I'd like to see them become more friendly with one another as well. I think it'd be a good thing if they went along with the book with that. So I'm hoping that happens, since they've changed many things.

I agree with you Natalia and as you said, I believe they're building up to a new relationship. An like most people I'm hoping when the 4th season comes out, it'll be her and Eric. Since reading the 4th book and watching the seasons and how the chemistry between the two of them's been growing, I'm really excited to see what happens. So I'm hoping they don't disappoint us. An as for Quinn I'm sure within time he'll be introduced, I just hope they don't completely kill his character off, like they did with Calvin. I guess we'll just have to see what happens.

Yeah I see what you're saying. I would be very disappointed(as would I'm sure many other fans would be, as well), if they decided to limit the seasons, along with all the important plots and new characters. I would hate to see a respected author's good work, be made into a mockery of sorts. So I'm really hoping that that doesn't happen and they start introducing all the characters and plots, they're suppose to bring up. An while I'm not saying to make it the same(for to me, that would make it predictable and somewhat boring), I'm saying to make the series more interesting and actually start to finally live up to the books. As most have complained about the series, not doing the books justice. An while I personally like the series more than the books, I can understand and agree with what some people have stated. So let's hope they don't strech to far out of the storyline, for even though I'm a fan of the TV show; I'm also of fan of the books.

I read the books before I started watching the show, but I already pictured Anna Paquin as Sookie since I had seen previews and clips from the show. I think she does a great job.
Stephen Moyer - not at all how I pictured Bill. He's much more dark and brooding than I thought Bill would be. I could understand Sookie's attraction to Bill in the book, but I'm having a harder time seeing it in the show.
Alexander Skarsgard - I've only seen one scene with him as Eric but I am loving him! More please!
Sam - Not what I pictured at all, but I like him. What was up with him sniffing Dawn's sheets??? (guess I will find out soon enough?)
Jason - Seems to have a more prominent role in the TV show. I think he's hilarious as the dumb pretty boy. Not bad to look at either. ;-)
Lafayette - Again, a more prominent role. He's fun to watch.
I am really looking forward to more Alcide in the books! Hope they do a good job with him in the show. Again, I'm in the very early stages. Loving the books and the HBO series!
I apologize if this also goes along with the other topic Books vs. TV series, but I figure I'd post this and see what everyone thought anyways. I look forward to reading everyone's opinions. =)
