Is it a scary road Janice? It appears to be the work of the devil.

There have been a relatively high number of fatalities on the road, but it has more to do with the condition of the road, the high level of oilfield/logging traffic, and drinking and driving than anything supernatural. There is talk of making this a log haul road which will make it even more dangerous. Canfor and Weyerhaueser both have their own roads (built and maintained by them). But another company doesn't want the expense.
Still, it's kind of cool to live on the Devil's Highway.
I do have another penguin I can use.
I like to try and keep everybody happy.
Lyzzi do you like ants?

Thank you Stacia you are very sweet.
I think he stepped in some chewy.
It's lucky the thing she's stuck in is pink not brown. :)
Gail that is GREAT! I love the way I'm hidden behind everyone, you really have to blow that area up to see me. That suits me.
It's a little crowded in your neck of the woods Lori.
Hey thanks for putting me on the map even though I've been MIA. I love the caption, it's perfect. My family and I have been on the hunt for a state that will embrace our "damn yanky" ways...Indiana is lookin pretty good. Ball State University in Muncie seems to have what the hubs is lookin for education wise.
Thanks!~ The slogan to Austin is Keep Austin Weird. The evil developers want to turn us into Dallas, though. Austin has been a buzzing boho hippie nest since eternity. But a lot is changing, and that is sad.
Well, until the past couple of weeks, I would have agreed that Madison was going down the same path as Austin. They are so similar in many ways. Keep up the good fight switterbug.
Um, every third person on the road in Portland has a "Keep Portland Weird" bumper sticker. Maybe we're sister cities or something?
SP, nope...I've heard of it, but not really about it if that makes sense.
Thunderant is the name that Fred Armisen (from SNL) and Carrie Brownstein (from Sleater-Kinney) gave their collaboration. They did a bunch of DIY videos that they put up on their website and on youtube, then IFC picked it up as a series, dubbed Portlandia. They reused a lot of the characters from the earlier videos, but did new skits.I thought this one was really funny - Bun would appreciate it too.

Yep, that's very "Portland-ish"!

Hi Phil, just popped into this group today. I have some serious reading to do and this group seemed like the best way to avoid it...
If you have anything really important to do today, just bring a hot drink & come along for the ride. We're excellent procrastinators.

It's always a great day to be alive Cynthia. Now if I could just figure out how to accomplish all I want with out having to have a job to pay for it.
Right. It's going to take me another hour to catch up on TC since I was gone all weekend (my niece's wedding in Chicago.)

BTW, I'm only two years younger than you (and so not that new) and know what you mean. I lost my last high-paying job in 2006!

I just can't hit the "mark all as read" for some reason.
