I can't remember if I said I was in or not?! I am a 7... What are the new rules or where do i find them? It has been a while since i did this challenge (I missed it)!
Usually when the match ups are posted, if there is any new rules or guidelines it is in the first couple of messages on page one - can't wait to see what Dee is planning for us.
ok, i should have everyone up to here...can you guys please check...if you signed up and i missed you, let me know...thanks!
hey guys - i'll be doing recommendations tomorrow night, so 24 hours (or so) to sign up. could you please do me a favor, if you are under 18 or don't want someone under 18 providing pics for you, can you please pm me. As some of the members (myself included) having some books on their shelves that may not be appropriate. Thanks!
Heck, Dee. I have stuff on my shelves that isn't appropriate for my wife and she's 41. I think anyone who is on this site has enough sense to know what they should and should not read. I'm going to say that 90% of the books I read have some sort of sex in them. But there's nothing I wouldn't let my kids read. I'm not saying they'd want to read them, but I wouldn't stop them from reading any of the menage erotica or anything else if they asked.
I'd say no under 18's should be selected for me. I'd feel like I'd need to get parental consent. There's definately content that is a bit too ... Ummm ... adult for me to feel comfortable with a teenager going through my tbr pile. Hell, there's books there that I give warnings about before recommending to adults if I'm not certain of their reading preferences.

I don't have a problem with anybody under 18 recommending for me. I read all sorts of genres. That said, I do have some books in my TBR that may be thought of as inappropriate for teens but I think that if a parent has any problem with the places their teen is going online, they should monitor that. It's not my business. When I do a recommendation, I check carefully what the person reads and if I see nothing that may be thought of as racy in their books read, I don't recommend anything of that type. I know there are some adults that don't like that sort of thing so I'm always on the lookout for that.

Just let me know THX
I'm interested - but I haven't done this challenge before. Just to clarify - someone is paired to me, and they go through my TBR pile on GR? Do they pick a selection for me to then choose? This was probably at the beginning, but I skimmed after the first part. Sorry.:(I also have a wishlist, but I don't own those books so I wouldn't want them selected...
Depends on the rules which are normally posted with the pairings (the ones I've done anyway) - it's usually a combination from your tbr shelf and books from their shelves but the rules on how you pick from those shelves may vary.
Jane, try page 1 message 2 and 3, I think Dee has it all spelled out. But yes they go through your 'to-read' shelf and give you something that is no where on your library. It is fun, and you will be given several options to choose from.
Okey-dokes - thanks Debbie and Tania. I'll give this a go. It does look like fun and it seems as if it is from the TBR shelf and there will be multiple options. I'm a 9.
recommend anything to me :) !!!!!! but YA is kind of the least fav for me... but if is really good then bring it on!! ;)
I don't think I have anything naughty in my tbr, but now I am seriously curious and want to check out Jim's and Tania's.
Looking forward to my recs! Anyone can pick for me. I have been introduced to many wonderful books/authors via this challenge.
Kami wrote: "I don't think I have anything naughty in my tbr, but now I am seriously curious and want to check out Jim's and Tania's."Nothing really that bad. But some of the books do certainly have questionable scenes.
Six for example has a wonderful scene where the main character has sex with a guy that's in love with her, they blows and screws five total strangers, while worrying that her boyfriend that she abandoned back in the hotel room might cheat on her. That's the sort of thing that many people would not enjoy reading in all of it's graphic detail.
