The first YA book I remember reading was Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson, and it was excellent. It made me realize that not all YA novels were pure fluff, although there is a place for that. :)
My favorite books overall are Watership Down, Brave New World, and The Hobbit (don't get me started on the movie adaptations).
I'm looking forward to learning about good new YA books from you all.

Favorite Books: I like anything that is well written with great characters and a fast-paced, intriguing, heart wrenching plot
Favorite Genres: Dystopian, Suspense, Fantasy.
Favorite TV shows: Damien, Bates Motel, Game of Thrones, The Family, The Americans, Orphan Black, The Vikings, Tyrant, Ray Donovan, Narcos, Black Sails, Humans, Indian Summers, Fargo, Lucifer (Television has gotten so good!)
Favorite Recent Movies: Chappie, The Force Awakens, Trainwreck, Mockingjay (I love so many movies)
Favorite Food: Enchiladas, Crawfish Etoufee, Greek salads with Gyro meat & Greek potato salad, Greek Fried cheese OOmpa!
Hobbies: I am a zumbaholic!
And I’m honored to be part of your group.

I really like most genres of books but my favorite are probably fantasy, young adult, and romance.
I'm also a crazy cat lady, and my favorite beverage is either hibiscus tea or dr pepper.
Im so excited to be part of this group!
(I apologize for any weird spelling, my autocorrect on my phone hates me.)

I'm Claudia. I was born in Cuba and lived there for like 10 years. Now I live in The Netherlands. I speak Spanish and Dutch and I study Germans, French and of court English. I too (as all of you) love reading. I don't really have a favorite book/series, because I love all the books I read (except those from school) I do prefer books without a love-triangle and a happy ending. I also have a thing for historical YA books. When I'm not reading I'm drawing, writing or just hanging around with my friends.
Fun fact about me: So Spanish is my native language but I've read more books in some other languages. I've only read 2 Spanish books in my whole live until now.

I am a teen book blogger who first started blogging in the New Year but has experienced some amazing opportunities such as being part of blog tours and winning/reviewing books for publishers. I read and review a lot of YA so this group appealed to me. I'm always up for meeting new friends so feel free to send me a friend request. My favourite trilogy is The Hunger Games and favourite standalone novel All The Bright Places.

My name is Tara and my favourite book series is the Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard :D But my favourites also include The Gone Series, The Lunar Chronicles, The Mortal Instruments, The Legend Series and The Kanin Trilogy!
I use this name because my friends are very judgy and I don't really want to give them another reason to bully me (: I'm sorry if I am deemed annoying or perhaps too pushy I just... I am trying so please bear with me ^.^

I'm Annie, quite obviously, and 16 years old, turning 17 this September. I live in Mexico City, a huge city with traffic 24/7, but I still love it. I have loved reading since I was 5 years old and discovered The Magic Tree House.
My favorite books of all times are the Harry Potter books! Other than that, I'm in love with the Daughter of Smoke and Bone Trilogy, Carry On by Rainbow Rowell, the Shades of Magic series and The Raven Cycle quartet!

Hey Bea, nice to meet you! I'm an old but new author. Lol! I really enjoy reading; however, writing gets all of my attention. Venezuela? Beautiful. The closet I came to Venezuela is Aruba, my other home. : )

If you ever wanna talk or recommend any books to me, just send me a message! :3

i also love percy jackson!!!!!
message me sometime we can talk about it
;)

Six books a month? Wow! You go girl!

hey caroline! i love both percy jackson and harry potter, and i'm actually pretty surprised that there's a rift in your class between the two - all my friends who've read one of the two like the other just as much. i started watching the movies first (because i was way too young to comprehend the phrase books without pictures, haha), but i definitely recommend reading the first two! it does get a little slow and the writing is pretty straightforward, but it's where everything starts! the third book is where everything starts picking up speed, which is right, but i'd definitely give the first and second books a chance. maybe it's just me being a series purist and doing the whole "read the first book before anything else!!!!" kind of thing, but yeah! and if you're not a fan of the first two books, the movies are pretty solid as well :) good luck!

Am happy to join this group!

I'm a screenwriter by trade (I created the BBC action fantasy kid's show, SPIRIT WARRIORS) which stars Jessica Henwick (Game of Thrones, Star Wars:The Force Awakens and Marvel's upcoming Iron Fist) and Benedict Wong (Doctor Strange, Marco Polo). I specialise in high concept ideas so if you want monsters or dystopia starring a teen female lead, then I'm your girl. If like me, you're a geek obsessed with Buffy, then you'll probably like my work :)
I'm newly joined to GR and in dire need of some friends so do drop me a line - I'm nice, I promise!
In the meantime, happy reading! - Jo

My name is Angela, and I am a fantasy and mystery/thriller lover. Nice to meet you all! Does anyone have any book recommendations for me...looking for new books to read ;)! Some books I loved: Six of Crows, Throne of Glass, and The Young Elites. TIA!! Thank you so much !!!!! :)

most of the "common" ones (ie: Throne of Glass)- haven't read yet, buuut, it's on my to read list. i'm just waiting to see if there are going to have more.

I'm Sue and I love to read and write. My favorite genres are paranormal, fantasy, romance, new adult, young adult, and I like werewolves, vampires, fairies, elves, and so much more!! I'm writing a young adult paranormal fantasy romance that I hope to publish early next year. It will be the first book in a series. Happy to be here to discuss books and support indie authors.

Winter is free through today and is also always eligible for Kindle Unlimited. And please review, I would like any feedback to help for future projects. I like to write character centric young adult dystopian/post apocalyptic subjects involving death, zombies and vampires.

A look into the mind of a dead boy named Adam: a young teenager born a few months after an incident that created a worldwide plague of the walking dead. Adam's soul has been trapped inside of his frozen body for countless years, and while he is physically dead, his mind is very much alive.

Happy to accept any friend requests :P Look forward to discussing YA in the future!

I'm Beata... love YA and many other genres... always happy to get new reviews and recommends in my feed, so please feel free to friend me :) I accept all new friends...
