message 2020: by Erika (new)

Erika Rominger | 28 comments Hello, Erika. My favorite author is Cassandra Clare. I love the Infernal Devices and The Mortal Instruments. Anyway, I was hoping someone could help me find this book I read a couple years back. I'm not sure how it goes exactly but.... One day at the beginning of summer this girl gets on her bike to go to her local swimming hole when she sees a boy swimming(I think). Either way throughout the book he teaches her how to swim. And somewhere through there they begin dating. In the end(I think) he ends up getting mad at something and jumps in the lake during a storm and she goes after him and almost drowns. And I think that the girl lives with her sister. Anyone have an idea...? Also I am also excited about this club!

message 2035: by mh (new)

mh | 36 comments Hey everyone. Maham here from Muscat, Oman.
I LOVE reading. Can't survive without it. Love writing, but that's a little slow because I am a full time journalism student.
Favorite books are very very few for me. I have enjoyed a lot. I have even liked a few. But I remember only a couple books in the end. Harry Potter would be the top of the list and I don't care if I am 20 and still reread it because that series was sheer genius for me. I am reading that to my kids before bedtime. No negotiating on that one.
Currently I am also hooked to the in death series by JD Robb ( Roberts). They're entertaining and have some of my favorite book elements all in one.
Coming to young adult now. I pretty much read any book that's out there because I am a shameless addict, although I barely remember them at the end. So if it's out there, I've probably read it. If I haven't then I don't know about it yet or yes, it's THAT bad.
Don't have many reader friends, especially similar taste ones in real.. so looking forward to meeting those here.
Cheers. :D

message 2036: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly Hey Folks,

I'm Kimberly and I love most genres of YA books but paranormal and historical YA novels are my favourites. I've been a GR member since 2008 and it's definetly made me read a lot more than I used to (though I've always been a voracious reader) now I read about 100 books more a year than I used to.
Can't wait to get to know everyone!

message 2037: by ☆∞Love (new)

☆∞Love Frances∞☆ (literaryfollies) | 2 comments HI friends! Ive been here on GR since 2009 (I could NOT believe it when I saw that!!) I am on the quiet side so I dont go to a lot of groups, but I love this one.
I love to read. Mostly YA. I read normal fiction too. Some biographies, self help, etc.
As we speak I am reading Thirst 3 by Christopher Pike, about to read City of Bones (for the group read here), Anna Dressed in Blood, and I am finishing up Night School.
I am considering a Harry Potter read a long. I read the first 3 waay back when.
I used to read so much more I wish I could get back to that voracious reader again.
Shoot me a message if you wanna say HI or whatever <3

message 2038: by Night Owl (last edited Mar 25, 2013 10:22PM) (new)

Night Owl Reader (allnightreading) Hi, my name is Sarah!

I am a college student majoring in Sociology and minoring in Art. I like to read, but I am horrible at picking out books for myself. I have this condition known as the "Choose book based on beautiful covers" Syndrome. I do not want to explain the symptoms of this condition, partly because I get so emotional, and partly because I feel I do not need to. I looked at the stats before, people who read have a 50 to 70% chance of having this condition.

I am pretty quiet when I am not with my friends, but my friends knows me to be really random, crazy, and just plain silly.

P.S. No need to treat me differently just because I have a condition! :P lol

message 2039: by Rincess (new)

Rincess Hey newbies! Woah, I haven't been online for a really really long time. What's up?

And @Sarah "Choose book based on beautiful covers" Syndrome Yeah, I totally get what you mean. Though it had made me waste my money more than once already :P Somebody find a cure!

I'm with you, someone should find a cure! This condition is emptying my wallet faster than I could finish a book.

Author and reader!

I am currently reading twisted by K.A Robinson, i am trying so hard to get into it but i really find this sequel to not have much depth. Anyone else read it yet?

message 2043: by [deleted user] (new)

Today is the day that I reintroduce myself it seems. The last year has been crazy and I have been neglectful. My name is Shannon but everyone calls me Shay. I am an Army wife, avid reader, writer (currently looking for agent), and sort of gamer. I will read almost anything and have a huge personal collection (even though I have that collection I find myself checking books out from the library too). I amm a bookaholic. I am always open to recommendations or suggestions.

message 2047: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca Hambery (rhambery) Hello I'm Rebecca and I have loved reading since I was a little kid. Sadly I am awful at writing. I also love reviewing books! My favorite books are the Gemma Doyle trilogy books.

message 2048: by Amber (new)

Amber (amcozy) | 1 comments Hello everyone! I'm Amber and I just joined Good Reads and I'm exciting to start reviewing some of my favorite books - in the YA genre, I'm a huge fan of the 'Under the Never Sky' series by Veronica Rossi, the 'Frost' series by Katie Avery Ellison, and on the slightly more gruesome side, the 'Razorland' series by Ann Agguire.

message 2049: by Ronald (new)

Ronald | 16 comments Hello guys. I'm Ronald, and I love YA. Especially YA fantasy. Harry Potter was awesome as a kid, and even now. Hunger Games was a good light read. And Twilight, I feel that it was just a bit misunderstood. Stephanie Meyer's writing got better as the series went on anyway.

Read some other stuff, and willing to try new books. Hey, as long as it's entertaining, I'm good. It's weird for a dude to like this stuff I know, but these are the type of stories I love to read and write. Aside from stuff like Game of Thrones.

Irene ~ Witchy Reads (witchyreads) | 52 comments Welcome Rebecca, Amber & Ronald

@ ronald I think it is awesome you read those book! Loved them too, doesn't matter if your a guy or not! I don't know many guys that have read a book in there life so I think its awesome!
