So the series ended good? I've read the first 2 and actually have Forever but I'm scared to read it! Ha! It doesn't end awful or sad does it? Do you mind me asking? :)

nightlyreadingheather (heatherhy01) Hi Alan & Tanesha!

message 1460: by [deleted user] (new)

@Evie "Forever" was actually my favorite book in the series. And yes, it ended great! I was scared to read it as well, but it is definetly worth it. But, just to warn you, I cried in the end, and while reading the author's not in the back of the book. "Forever" is definetly worth the risk of reading :) :) :)

Are you published? Working on it? Or do you just write for you? I'm sorb of he last one, I mean id LOVE to get paid for it (even if it's not a lot) because it's what I love but I'll always write books no matter if I get published or not. What about you? Can you tell me about any of your books??? :)

Okay I shall definitely be checking out said website! Your books sound cool! :)
I write about a lot of different things, but they all fit in the YA genre (obviously, being 16 and all) I just finished my latest fantasy book which I'm excited about, it's the beginning of a series set in a fantasy land. I have a couple serieses planned that come off of that series, I have a few modern fantasy stories in the works, I've got some action-y fiction in the works (spies, mafia, thieves, etc.) and some things that I've just made up. My biggest problem is that I have waaay too many ideas and not nearly enough time to write. I blame high school but I'm graduating soon so maybe that'll help...except then there will be college so hmm, maybe not! Ha!
That's so neat that you're trying to make people think with your books, I feel strongly in that way as well. I'm a Christian and where I dont feel like I am personally at a place right now to write something inspirational enough to be labeled Christian Fiction I do like to impart morals in my books. Not like I get all preachy but part of the wonder of books for me is the peace, calmness, and enjoyment I ge from being in their world. At getting that happily ever after. Maybe I'll get one myself but I've still got so much life to live it feels like its forever in coming. See, I have Type 1 juvenile diabetes.
No, it's not the worst thing a 13 year old can be diagnosed with but it's far from easy too. It adds a lot of drama to the life of a girl who never liked drama. But I know God wouldn't give me something like this without a reason so I'm okay with it but it's nice to escape now and then and jus forget about it. Hence my love of stories-reading and tellingthem. And why I so desire that happy ending.
I like that in the span of 400 pages a character's life can seem like it's over and yet still turn out okay. I still don't see how mine is going to work out so the hope of it is what makes me feel better. Morals matter a lot to me in booms and I want to impart them too. Share with my hopefully eventual readers the importance of being strong and good and kind. Letting them know that everyone can handle more than they think they can and that they'll be better people because of it. That everyone makes mistakes but there will always be someone who loves you anyway. That it's okay to be young and just live. That it's okay that it's hard right now because if won't always be.
That's what I want people to walk away from my books knowing. That there's still the option of that perfect ending, if we persevere and so choose it. God didn't give anyone anything they couldn't handle and stories of triaumph and happy endings are good for everyone.
So now that I ranted for way too long (do parson me, it's midnight and I'm not the best night person and tend to ramble upon becoming sleepy)
Tell me what you like to read?! What inspired you to start writing? What authors are your favorites? What impacts you as a writer? You don't have to tell me if you don't want to but I'm always so curious about older, wiser writers and just people! Sure you're not that much older than me but you've still lives longer and I've yet to meet someone who didn't teach me something so if you wanted to share I'd love to listen! (or read I suppose...lol) :)

message 1479: by Rohit (new)

Rohit Gore | 5 comments Hi everyone,

I am an author based in India. My second novel entitled, A DARKER DAWN was recently released by one of the largest trade publishers of India.

It belongs to YA. Following is the synopsis:

When four childhood friends accidentally kill a school bully, their friendship dies, but decades later, when they confront their unspeakable sin, friendship is their only hope for redemption.

In a small Indian town with a violent history of religious tensions, twelve-year-old best friends Dev, Avi, Anita and Jeet are growing up like grass on a sidewalk – neglected and uncared for by their families. The bullies led by Bappa and a school teacher torment them relentlessly. When a bomb explodes in front of a mosque, a bloody riot erupts and the four friends are trapped. Bappa is on the verge of killing Dev when the four friends suffocate him to death.

They make a pact of silence – never meet each other again and never talk about the bully’s death. Forever haunted by guilt, they drift apart. Twenty years later, an unknown man sends them a message – it is time for atonement. They return to the town as strangers to each other, blaming their childhood friendship, wishing they had never met. When Avi is assaulted and beaten close to death, they realize the old hatreds are still alive in the town. The four friends have nothing but their forgotten friendship to save themselves.

I'm a bit of a nerd myself I suppose. I horseback ride, run, do traditional archery, write books and poems, read books and poems, and am also a type 1 diabetic which always makes life interesting. Lol
Yes, I shall definitely check out your profile! But I'm doing this from my phone at midnight so I'll have to do it tomorrow off he computer! Ha!
That's so cool that you can do martial arts. I wish I woulve learned when I was younger. I'm 16 now and it just seems like it would be weird for me to start so late. Especially since I don't actually know anyone who does it I've just always thought it sounded neat.
Do you swim competitively?
Did you mean that you've gone to space?
So I Am number Four is good? I really liked the movie and keep meaning to read the book. It's in my TBR pile. :) lol
Hole you're having an awesome night! :)

Many thanks, Ela! :-)

It should be available on Amazon in a few days now. Will keep you posted.

Well, to answer your other question about publishing, I believe the best approach is to get signed up by a good publishing agent. If you have a bigname agent, your chances of getting a great deal improve a lot.

I queried, believe me, I am not exaggerating, 900 agents :-). I was actually very surprised that a number of agents wanted to read my novel. Although most of them ultimately rejected it, but some of them did give me good feedback. I kept on improving the novel and one day, an agent signed me up. He sold it to India's biggest trade publisher.

It took avery long time, more than a year, in fact. But at least it got published!
