Almeta (menfrommarrs) | 182 comments Just got Tell No One from the library today, so I'm ready to start! In the middle of a President Roosevelt mystery and this will be next on my list.

Zen | 7 comments Tell No One left a really great impression throughout every other novels that i had read. With its intriguing plot and unexpected twists, i can't let this book off my mind! So which part of the story have u guys reached already?!

message 4: by Almeta (last edited Jan 16, 2011 03:21PM) (new)

Almeta (menfrommarrs) | 182 comments I have read ten pages so far. I already like Dr. David Beck because of his embarrassment of his goofy love sickness. But of course at the same time, I am warned that he is going to spoil everything (or already has). And then something awful happens.

Pretty good for ten pages!!!

Linda Boyd (boydlinda95gmailcom) | 335 comments Tell No One was the first book I read by Harlan Coben - it has been at least 10 years - whew - I need to refresh my memory - but I lent that book to someone and of course - I did not get it back!!!! Ugh!!! Which is why I don't lend my DT books anymore. I do remember liking this book a lot - it was my introduction to reading Harlan Coben.

Vince (vchile) | 163 comments I read this one Saturday night - definitive page turner. Be forewarned!

message 7: by Katrina (new)

Katrina | 51 comments Just got this book in the mail today. As soon as I finish Murder, She Wrote: You Bet Your Life, I will get this started. Looking forward to it. I really enjoyed the last (which was also my first) Coben book I read.

message 8: by Almeta (new)

Almeta (menfrommarrs) | 182 comments On page 229. Lots of twists. Really getting to like Beck, but have this nagging feeling (because of something at the beginning) that I'm not supposed to.

Coben keeps you hanging for a few paragraphs, but not for long. Your confusion only lasts a few minutes and then things are revealed. During the first couple of chapters I kept trying to go backward to see what I missed. Now I trust him…he will tell me…and not keep me waiting too long.

Rooting for the fringe people, hissing the authorities and the powerful!

message 9: by Barbara (new)

Barbara (cinnabarb) | 9974 comments I think Harlen Coben does a fine job keeping up the suspense in this book and his clever plot twists are great. I really enjoyed it.

message 10: by Sandy (new)

Sandy (SandyLamar) | 33 comments I'm not very far into this yet, but it looks like he's giving us glimpses of people and plot twists and I'm having a tremendous amount of fun speculating about what's actually going on, who's alive, even who's involved and who's an innocent bystander.

haha yeah! I think for booklovers, losing a book is like...losing your wallet.

message 12: by Zen (new)

Zen | 7 comments Its so frustrating that the cops are always trying to pin the murder of Elizabeth's on David Beck. And the black drug dealer whose child Beck's treating for hemophilia is such a lovable character, giving full support when Beck needed it. Sometimes we just can't judge a book by its cover, isn't it.

There are books that I just wanna skip to the end and reveal the truth, but this? Im having a hard time trying not to peek at the last page.lol

message 14: by Almeta (new)

Almeta (menfrommarrs) | 182 comments On page 300. Down the home strecth. Things are falling into place and now I think I've got all the puzzle pieces needed, and know the answers. We'll see!

message 21: by Sofia (new)

Sofia (fivesunflowers) | 58 comments I just got Tell No One from the library yesterday - so psyched because usually it's so hard for me to find current reads at the library lol .. Starting it today, in addition to the other novels I have going on :-)

message 22: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Galgano Dumaresq (jlgalgano) | 1 comments i LOVED this book, so i was thrilled when i found out there was a french movie based on this book (also, called tell no one). you can get it at netflix. there were some variances between the two but that's usually how it works when books are made into movies; i definitely thought the book was better. if you can tolerate movies with subtitles and liked this book it's worth checking out. :)

message 23: by Katrina (new)

Katrina | 51 comments WOW...I sort of had an inkling about the ending, but wow. I finished it earlier this morning and I am still trying to digest it.

message 24: by Sofia (new)

Sofia (fivesunflowers) | 58 comments I started it tonight and was hooked before I even got to the first chapter! lol ... very exciting intro! This will definitely be a book that I will get thru quickly..

message 25: by Sofia (new)

Sofia (fivesunflowers) | 58 comments holy moly - was that really his dead wife that he saw in that web cam? :-o

message 26: by Zen (new)

Zen | 7 comments Gosh!!! I'm soooo tempted to just reveal the ending people!!!

message 27: by Sofia (new)

Sofia (fivesunflowers) | 58 comments omg, Zen, please dont! LOL .... what a page-turner this book is! I can't wait to read more by this author..

message 28: by Almeta (new)

Almeta (menfrommarrs) | 182 comments It does make you want to read it again, to see if you missed a clue...but remember you were forewarned in the VERY beginning (first ten pages).

message 29: by Sandy (new)

Sandy (SandyLamar) | 33 comments Finished it! Enjoyed the ending. I agree it's a bit much to expect the reader to remember a hint from the first few pages, but a lot of mystery writers just hide crucial info. altogether. So the last twist not only entirely fair, but a satisfying end to the really bad guy, whose identity was out from pretty much the beginning.

This is the first book I've read by Harlan Coben, but I will look for his mysteries from now on.

message 30: by Janet (new)

Janet | 13 comments I really enjoyed this book. Great plot, fast moving, yet intricate.

message 31: by Sofia (new)

Sofia (fivesunflowers) | 58 comments holy moly - just finished it! This book was the first book in a long time that I read in under seven days lol ... but, yes, I had to go back and do some reading to make sure I had all the info straight - there are lots of unexpected twists in the last few chapters. I know it's supposed to be a thriller/mystery book, but under all that it was really a love story :-) Love Always Wins.

message 32: by Marie (new)

Marie (giblert) Oh my gosh, I am blowing through this. Can hardly wait to finish & discuss.

message 33: by L.J. (new)

L.J. (ljsellers) | 17 comments I read this book long ago, but I remember that I loved it. I've recently started CAUGHT by Harlan Coben, and I'm enjoying it! He's the master of suspense/twist. I learn from him as a writer too.

message 34: by Leonora (new)

Leonora Shahon Wow! I started this book on Saturday and just finished on Sunday evening before dinner. I did remember a clue about the ending earlier in the book. The whole thing was wonderful with likable characters and a fast pace. I have never read this author before but I will definitely check out his other books.

message 35: by Norma (new)

Norma (msnorma) | 3 comments I just finished this book today and all I can say is Wow. It had my heart pounding! What a great read..this was my first book by this author but certainly not the last..the ending to me was a real surprise - totally unexpected.

message 36: by Marie (new)

Marie (giblert) I agree, the ending was a total surprise and I'm glad I didn't see it coming. I like it when the author is smarter than I am :-)

message 37: by Deb (new)

Deb (absoloodle) | 20 comments I was sure I had read this, but I just discovered that I'd confused it with Trapped. I really don't want to buy it again to find out that I have read it. Frustrating...especially since the reviews seem to be so uniformly glowing. Will someone please message me privately to give me more details of the storyline? Maybe then I can be certain about whether I've actually read it!

message 38: by Luanne (new)

Luanne I finished the book over the weekend. Another great book by Coben. I hadn't read this one before. I can't put these books down. Lots of twists and turns are in the plot. Great read. I have only read Coben's standalone books. Maybe I will have to try his series.

I rented the French movie "Tell No One" and thought it was well done. I thought it was pretty faithful to the story in the book.

Yvonne (ysareader) | 53 comments Tell no one was my first Harlan Coben book. I thought it was very good. I have to remember to check out In the Woods.

I've never seen the French movie version of this book. It sounds interesting.

Apparently an American version of "Tell No One" is in the works with Ben Affleck set to direct it. I'll be very interested in seeing this one. I understand that the French version changed the ending.

The Woods and In the Woods are two separate books. For Coben, you want The Woods.

HOWEVER!!!! If you make this mistake...you won't be disappointed. (Tana French is very good.)

Harlan Coben has become a favorite of mine (Thankyou Gatorman). .Tell No One was my first of his. I do not intend to miss a single one of his books

Debra (debra_t) | 40 comments This was my first Harlan Coben book and hasn't been my last! What a page-turner! I was up to 3am one night finishing it! Great suspense and character-development. An easy, fast read.

Maggie the Muskoka Library Mouse (mcurry1990) "Tell No One" was my first foray into Harlan Coben, and I really liked the way he wrote. I will definitely be reading more of his novels.
