Oh, goodie! Another Francis Crawford fan! The companion is a good thing.

Grace (greengrace) | 71 comments There are two companions, when you go to buy try a lot of sights because some have them very expensive. Or if you are e book equipped try looking for an e copy. ABE books is good and alibris is also a good source for books on line. The companions are fun to read all by themselves.
Welcome to dunnettdom, Joannabeattie

I find it handy, since on my Nook, I can do a word search and it takes me right to where the definition is.

Grace (greengrace) | 71 comments Sandra, that is such a handy piece of info I'm eventually going to go digital, not this year, but when I do I'll keep this in mind. One of the reasons I plan to annotate the LC is because the companions are alphabetical not all that handy especially when you get caught up in the plot - which I always do .
If I wasn't so caught up in the DD online world I might of made some progress on the annotations but...
I'm reading along with King Hereafter, Wolf Hall, Georgette Heyer and the JJs really too much but I couldn't resist. I think I'll probably go along with the Lymond poetry read too.

Oh my! You are doing a lot. I'm doing the KH discussion, too. See you there!

I love my Nook!

Mickey | 61 comments You can go here and get Nancy's guide. It is very good. Her family tree is great, but don't get it if you have not read both series.

Cool! Will do!

Grace (greengrace) | 71 comments Nancy's guide is great, ditto on the family tree...there is at least one more tree but they are definitely spoilers.
When my sister first started online I acquired Nancy Wright's booklet,Carol Gleason's annotations and another set of annotations with an e-mail address for Harrytm from my sister who was online with a daughter Dunnettwork group in 1994. I'll ask around and see if I can get permission and a location for the last two for you all.
When I talk about doing an annotation of the LC in most cases I'm just compiling others work and adding it to the correct page of the LC. There are other things I plan on doing like marking passages that are referred to later. It may be a pipe dream but I'm still smoking the pipe .
I went through my files to find the third set of annotations to give you info about and ended up rereading most of my files. But they did need to be resorted as they had gotten messed up with Xmas and all. I found some fun stuff. Tomorrow when I'm more coherent I'll post some of the better posts. But first I have to check netiquette and get some sleep.

Wow, Gracie, I'd love an annotated LC - count me first in line! Pipe dream, no way, I hope it happens.

Mickey | 61 comments Carol Gleeson's The Lymond Companion is copyrighted. No one should download it without her permission. It is on one of the Dunnett lists but if you join, you don't have permission to download it. We must be very careful. All of the files on all of the Dunnett lists contain material from members that are willing to share, but not for distribution to the masses

May I ask, Grace, how you got Carol's Companion? I may not know of something Carol agreed to for members of DW.

Mickey

message 14: by Grace (new)

Grace (greengrace) | 71 comments Mickey I'll e-mail you off list.
Sandra, My annotations wouldn't be anything I could
pass around because, as Mickey points out, of the copyright issues. I'll get back to you with what I can share though.

Well that's ok. I bought the one by Nancy. Wonder how long it'll take to get to the US?
