I hope you enjoy The Strain. I liked it.

I'm reading River Marked. Took awhile to get interesting but I'm diggin' it now.

Valerie | 266 comments Truly, Madly (Lucy Valentine, #1) by Heather Webber ... Halfway through it already, and enjoying the quirky/snarkiness - especially from the character named "Dovey"!

sonya marie madden | 441 comments I'm trying to finish THE DEAL BREAKER to send it off in TWO days. (gulp) so far so good. quick, engaging plot about Myron Botilair caught up in a murder and his client may be involved in it. Harlan Coben takes one thing and takes it in another direction. I love that about him.

I tend to agree, this book so far has been very good.

Patti Roberts | 35 comments Oh i do like Harlan Coben - I like his Myron Bolitar novels. I like the way he writes for that character.

message 507: by Scott (new)

Scott I just finished Ghost Road Blues. I was really impressed by Maberry's writing.

Now I'm going to start reading Fluke: Or, I Know Why the Winged Whale Sings. It has been a little while since I've read a Moore book.

Dragonflydreamer68 Just started Graveminder, and so far am really liking it..

message 509: by S.J. (new)

S.J. Wright (sjwrightauthor) | 2 comments I started reading The Other Boleyn Girl again. I must have read this book about 26 times so far. I just love the whole historical fiction genre.

I should get to reading this book. It has been staring it me for the longest time LOL. I love historical fiction as well.

I am currently reading "A Visit from the Goon Squad" by Jennifer Egan. Halfway there!

Now on to Plain Truth by Jodi Picoult

I ended up buying the first two because I couldn't get them from the library. I've read the 3rd but I don't own it....yet. Glad you enjoyed it!

Cate (The Professional Fangirl) (chaostheory08) | 199 comments I just finished "A Visit from the Goon Squad". :) Now reading:

Poison A Novel of the Renaissance by Sara Poole

message 521: by Kerri (new)

Kerri (kerrimcbooknerd) After reading Demon Girl as fast as possible so I could just forget about it (definitely not recommended...), I am now about to read Inkheart. I have to admit, I'm reading this book cause I kind of loved the movie. And we all know the book is always better than the movie, right? ;)

I thought about reading Demon Girl but so many people have told me the same thing I guess I won't. Inkheart is a wonderful book, one of my favorites. :)

message 524: by Helen (new)

Helen My friend recommended Demon Girl, it's on my kindle waiting. I loved Inkheart.

I really like it so far, light and easy. Wish I didn't have work today!

message 528: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (shadowrose) I finished Glass Houses, I look forward to reading the rest of the Morganville Vampires series.

I started The Atlantis Complex, which is the 7th book in the Artemis Fowl series.

message 529: by Lisa (new)

Lisa | 617 comments Just finished rereading Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (I bought the UK edition when I studied abroad) and I think I now love it more than I already did. When reading the series the first time I missed things because I was so anxious to find out what happened, but rereading it I can focus on all the little details. And honestly I think J.K. Rowling is AMAZING! Every character was really thought out from book one and there are so many things I would not have picked up on the first time through that actually become important. Can't wait to reread book two!

message 530: by Elvia (new)

Elvia (elvb) I'm reading The Gathering - seems to be about Native American heritage. Coincidentally, I just finished River Marked, also about Native American heritage.

message 531: by Poppy (new)

Poppy I'm about 10% of the way into The Complete Essays (Penguin Classics) by Michel de Montaigne and really, even though it's exceedingly long and looks pretty overwhelming, I'm loving it.

If you don't know, Montaigne is the guy who invented the essay as a short piece of personal writing, back in the Renaissance. So far, I've read his thoughts on whether or not to parley if you've been beseiged (evidence is inconclusive), on lying (it's a vile habit, and you'll probably get caught anyway), and a lot of thought about the inevitability of death (it's going to happen to all of us anyway, so why are we so afraid of it?)

message 532: by Kristin (new)

Kristin I just started 'the secret of crickley hall' by James Herbert. But I have the flu, so I'm reading painfully slowly. I've only read ten pages, or something like that. It's frustrating.

*complain, complain, complain, whine, whine, whine*

message 533: by Helen (new)

Helen Poor you, hope you feel better soon

message 534: by Kerri (last edited Jun 06, 2011 01:08PM) (new)

Kerri (kerrimcbooknerd) Demon Girl would have been much better if it weren't for the way it was written. Grammatical errors just take me completely out of a story, especially when they're all over the place. But the actual *story* had it's moments, to be fair.

Also, I'm loving Inkheart so far :)

message 535: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (shadowrose) I'm glad you are enjoying Inkheart Kerri, it's one of the few I've actually read more then once.

I started Grave Surprise yesterday. I've been reading faster lately because they are library books and the faster I read the quicker I can go get more.

Cate (The Professional Fangirl) (chaostheory08) | 199 comments The Art of Saying Goodbye: A Novel by Ellyn Bache.

I just got it. I won it off GoodReads First Reads.

message 537: by Elvia (new)

Elvia (elvb) Reading The Gathering but not sure I'll be finishing it. Seems okay but not into it right now.

Wondering if it's because it's a hardcover and I've been used to reading my Kindle lately. :( I don't want to give up my books!!

message 538: by sonya (new)

sonya marie madden | 441 comments a librarian in town said, "You should choose shorter books than Tom Clancy for this." Executive Orders will take a while. How many people feel that 100 page books should be chosen? I'm not a fast reader at all.
I may be going back to Nancy Drew and the Hardy boys for some of the challenge.

Jenny (jennyc89) I'm currently reading The Mists of Avalon. I really like it, but unfortunately my spring classes are getting in the way of reading more.

message 542: by Michelle (new)

Michelle (shadowrose) Finished Grave Surprise and Sanctum's Breach today, both were good.

Started Pegasus just a few minutes ago. I've never read anything by Robin McKinley so I'm really interested in how this goes.

message 543: by sonya (new)

sonya marie madden | 441 comments I'm starting Key Witness, a new author to me. Different from John Grisham.

message 544: by Poppy (new)

Poppy Finished Montaigne's essay on Schoolteachers (I:25, I think) earlier this week. I think it's amusing that he has the same complaints about the education system in 1580 that people still have today, about teachers requiring students to memorize facts, but not teaching critical thinking.

Cate (The Professional Fangirl) (chaostheory08) | 199 comments Veronica wrote: "The Stand by Stephen King"

FAVORITE. Stephen King. EVER.

message 546: by Michelle (last edited Jun 10, 2011 10:09PM) (new)

Michelle (shadowrose) I'm having a rough time getting into Pegasus, it's so slow and some of the sentence structure isn't all that great. It's taken me two days to read 30 pages, that's extremely slow for me. Has anyone else read this? I'm curious as to if it gets any better or is the whole book going to be this sluggish?

I started Fablehaven
