Read
. A mash-up of Men In Black and Ghostbusters with a McGyver-type central character.Currently reading:
Started
and very intriguing it is. Heroine whilst a capable assassin is downtrodden & a virtual slave to the Blood Lord (bad guy). Will our Hero save her?
Reading
. A little different from most shifter books. There is now a wall dividing the humans from the shifters. The Heroine works on the wall, killing any shifter that tries to cross it. She notices 1 person (shifter?) watching her......
Finished
and
. Why am I starting yet another series?????? I only have 3 trillion or so already going......Started
tonight. Will be back to my beloved PnR/UF soon.....
was waiting for me on my Kindle this morning! Is it wrong that I want to take my lunch hour at 8:30 in the morning so I can read? :)
Finally picked up
today and had to start it in the car while on mommy duty and waiting for the kiddos. Will also be reading
right after. Luv luv luv new releases.
I finished
. Laini Taylor is an incredible writer, her words and imagery are just indescribable. However, I'm not sure how I feel about the second half of the book. It was weird because the book itself almost read like a prequel. I definitely preferred the first part but I'd say expect quite a lot of romance...Probably will read
next :)
@Josie: I hope you like
, I really enjoyed it.I get to pick up
tomorrow from the library. Can't wait! Also getting

I've been kind of MIA over the last couple months, in a real reading funk and having to force myself to finish books. I only got around to 9 in September & 12 in October and probably wouldn't have gotten around to some of those if it hadn't been for BINGO. Now to some people that might sound like good numbers, but I usually read at least 23 books in a month if not more. The last week of October was pretty good though and I seem to be coming out of my mood (or whatever it is). The lack of interest affected my time spent on GR and SOS also, so I thought I'd drop in and list a couple of favorites. September hits:
I absolutely loved
. Gin's such an interesting character and I can't wait to see what happens next in Tangled Threads. I also thought
was an excellent read, even if it wasn't quite as outstandingly fantastic as the first.October hits:
hands down, my favorite read of the month. Michelle Sagara rarely disappoints and this book was an excellent entry in the Chronicles of Elantra. If you enjoy fantasy, definitely give this series a try. Running a close second was
. Shadow Walker is sitting on my TBR and I'm going to try and get to it this month. Currently reading:
My librarian, who knows my general interests, recommended this for a change of pace. It's actually kind of interesting. The authors use puns, jokes and humor to illustrate philosophical theories. They've already shown how Sherlock Holmes used inductive logic and not deductive. LOL.
The first book was a funny read, so I have high hopes for this one.
Finished
, started
but it just wasn't doin' it for me. Set it aside and moved on to
and pretty good so far.Working my way thru Anna Strong on audio and currently listening to
.Seem to have a red cover theme going here...
Finished
, but it was a bit of a struggle. What happened to the awesomeness of the first books? Listening to
and it is hilarious!

Haven't been able to read much recently but just about able to squeeze in a couple of stories from
, which is quite good for an anthology. Very pleasantly surprised with Sharon Shinn - I haven't read anything from her before and was intrigued by the world, so will definitely look into her series. Ilona Andrews had a good input (of course, can they do any wrong?), dark and twisted which was nice. A bit disappointed with Nalini Singh, if I'm honest. Not one of her finest, it was a bit... boring. My least favourite by far :/Only got Meljean Brook left now, hope it's a goodie!
I put Drink Deep down around 50%, I just wasn't that into it. I am listening to
and I am loving it so far, I am about 30% in. But two things bother me: 1) that everyone around her has misled her or kept her background secret from her and, 2) the genre shift everyone is talking about. I don't know if I can handle the genre shift. :) But so far I love the prose, the characters and pretty much everything.I read back to back, several contemporary roomance books:
and I am currently reading
I have a horrible habit of starting a new book almost daily without actually finishing the one from the day before. So I currently have over a dozen books that I am literally in the middle of. I finished a short Harlequin Intrigue yesterday
I don't read these that often but the Harlequins are decent enough filler books. This was my first by Debra Webb and it wasn't that great. Too much going on. Not enough romance. I also finished
which was an ok book...another filler. Nothing fabulous unless you enjoy Elsie Hawkins (an early prototype of Grandma Mazur from the Plum series) as much as I do. Then you may very well enjoy the book.I am almost finished with
also a new to me author and although the heroine is not what I typically like I am very much enjoying the book.Thank you Steph for explaining how to add my covers!

Christina they really are! I wish she would revisit with Ian and Marcie fromthe first Christmas book she did. They were my favorite so far.
@Catherine: I enjoyed
, too.I liked elements of
but then it took a u-turn into OMGodNo-town.I really enjoyed
but it heavily implicated a love triangle -major turnoff so I won't be reading the sequel.Next up:
Finished
now I'm torn between Rule and Cullen in my own fantasy world. Also went back and finished
and not sure exactly how I'm feeling about the ending yet, more of a hmmmm than a wow. She sure does like her twists and cliff hangers.Started
and liking it so far. Listening to
again.

It's almost the end of 2011 & I still need 2 books to complete the "Back to the Future" challenge. I didn't think it would be this difficult to find two 2009 books, but it seems like every freaking book I pick up these days is a 2011 release. *sigh* I will persevere!
Finished
which I thought was an ok addition the the Love at Stake series but to be honest it had a bit too much "Oh Heavenly Father" stuff...but I guess with an angel as a heroine I shouldn't complain. Currently reading
all of which I've been "reading" for at least two weeks (in Wicked Game's case 4 months). I just keep putting most of them down to read something else. Need to finish them need to finish them need to finish them (my new mantra).
I've just finished reading the freaking awesome post-apocalyptic dystopia -
. Best to go in blind to avoid all spoilers.
It's in the library so will definitely get it out :)I have read one book
, a bit of an anthology
and a very short story
this month and it doesn't look like it'll get better than that. I have books but where is the time??
I am reading Vampire Academy series, I am shocked how much I am enjoying it! I held out for years, but really like it, I am on #2:
Can't believe I haven't posted anything here since last month......I'm such a slacker! So far this month I've read:
My favorites were:
Started by did not finish
. Just could not connect with the characters or the plot. The book is too long to try and slog thru just because it is there......Next up - I'm not really sure..... I'm caught up with all my "gotta read and mail really soon" books for PBS. Time to read something just for me maybe....
This is what I'm looking at:
So.....anybody wanna recommend one of those?
I've just finished
and really enjoyed it.Still reading
which I'm just not really getting into, which is a pity, as I loved all the previous books. This one is just quite boring :(

[bookcover:Cros..."The only book I've read from your list Cindy is Iron King. I very much enjoyed it though. I love stories with the fae. I am currently reading Graveminder but am not far enough into it to recommend yet.
I am reading
it is not very good.I just finished
which was also not very good.Next up for me will either be
or
and
I have the first two in that series TBR, Anomander. Glad to hear you're enjoying it.I'm reading
(but, not necessarily the cover art - bleh) and listening to
. I'm enjoying both! :D
Finished
and
. Working on
.Did a re-listen to the Stacia Kane Downside Ghost series
,
, and
... Will probably do another re-listen before
in March. Currently listening to
.
It's sad, I'm reading the last Jaz Parks,
and the story is good and the crew is all there in Romania.
Just finished listening to
today and enjoyed it (4★). Looking forward to reading #2 soon. Just started the final book in the Signs of the Zodiac series by Vicki Pettersson:
I'm anxious to find out how she wraps up the series. It's been fun reading the whole series this year. Now, to think of which series to read (start-finish) in 2012. :)
