Cindy, I'll definitely let you know! I really wasn't in the mood for it when I started it, but it's moving along pretty quickly, which is always nice. :)
Steph wrote: "I'm finally reading
and loving it. :D"Yay! 5 stars -Snap! Glad you enjoyed it, Steph!
I see you're reading
. I hope you like that one as much as I did.The sequel was
good, it put some events in perspective with a history lesson from someone who lived through the apocalypse. Scary stuff. Sometimes it just sucks being a woman. The next book, Tracking Tami is going to be an emotional one, with a traumatised victim as a heroine.Huh, all the above books have blue, pink and purple in them. And they're all good. That a mark of a good book, I wonder?
LOL at Ames, you've swapped #1 with #2 in the After the Crash stakes.I'll get
next time I'm at the ebook store, it's on the wishlist. Looking forward to it.
I just finished The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and now I'm reading Second Summer of the Sisterhood.
Finished reading
for Bingo. Now - it's on to the M/M books I have been putting off.....
and
. Yummy.....
Thanks, Ames. I'll look for the others in the series. I enjoyed it as well.Just finished Spell Bound and really enjoyed it. But, it ends on a cliffhanger :\
Also working my way through
when I have time to read. Enjoying that so far as well.
Enjoying
for bingo. I can well understand you either love or hate this series, I'm in the love camp. LOL
Just finished "Black Jewels" trilogy (the first book was ok, but I didn't like both second and third). Now I'm torn between "Ward against death" and "Magic to the bone"... Can't quite decide which one to settle with...
Finished
. It was really good. I haven't decided yet what rating I'm going to give it, but it definitely sucked me in and made me want to keep reading. Plus, it made me cry, which is usually a pretty good sign that I'm feeling connected to the characters. Now, I'm currently about 70% of the way through
. I'm hoping to finish it tonight so I can move on to some August challenge books. :)
Currently reading:
for the bingo read.
because I was feeling nostalgic for the early Lucas Davenport after reading #21.
Hmmm. Technically it's not current if I haven't touched it in a week. LOL. Planning on getting back to it though.I'm not sure what I'll be reading next. My heads hurting from all the choices. I have too many to be mentioned on my TBR (including Iron Duke and Dragon Bound, which are on my BOM radar) , another 20 checked out from the library. And then, I'm picking up the following from the library tonight:
.I'm leaning towards one of the BOM books.
Just finished
and
I tried to read
but just can't get into it. I think i'll have to put it aside and try in a few days.......Next up are
and
OooooK, it's official now - I'm taking a break from reading...:(I tried this
, then this one
and few pages of
... Then I sampled
, nibbled
and managed to get totally nauseated with
... And then I caught myself thinking "there's no way all of these books are bad. It must be me." So I'm taking a temporal brake in a hope that few days of non-reading will fix my attitude:(
Laura - that happens to all of us. Maybe try something completely different. Or something from a genre you used to read, but haven't picked up in a while.I've only read the Jazz Parks and Charlie Madigan, but they were both 4 stars for me. I've heard really great things about the others. I just bought Dead on the Delta today!
Hope your reading funk passes quickly.....
Finished
and Loved It!! Also finished
and enjoyed it. Listened to
and it was good. Going back to Industrial Magic & Waking the Witch for a revisit, I've forgotten too many things since my last read. Going back to
, lost interest and shelved it for a couple of weeks.
Well today
came in the mail. And I thought I'll just have a look, I'm now halfway through and really enjoying it. Don't know why, it's nothing unusual, but I like it :)
Thanks for your support, Cindy! Your "Laura - that happens to all of us." line made me feel better... :) Anw, I'm flying to Crete island for a nice and sunny vacation time in 10 days & no way (I mean NO WAY) I'm leaving my kindle, stuffed with
,
,
,
,
,
,
and some other books, behind. Holiday resolution: reading funk, or no reading funk, I'm going to plant my backside in chaise-longue and enjoy the read! (Good plan.)
Steph wrote: "Daffodil, how are you liking Nice Girls?"Finshed it yesterday evening. I really enjoyed it, Harper's humor appeals to me.
Wow! Enjoy for us all, Laura! Sounds great!Glad you liked it, Daffodil. I thought they were pretty funny. And, I recently spotted a 4th book coming out ... Can't remember when though and I'm on my phone, so I can't pull up the cover.
I'm kinda bummed. I'm not really feeling Black Heart Loa. I loved the first. A lot. Maybe I need to get further in? But, I'm about 35% and eh. I think I'm goin to put it aside and read one of my newest acquisitions. I'm thinking either Storm's Heart or Shadowflame or maybe Wolfsbane. Definitely got some fun choices.
The mailman is my best friend today because he brought me
and
. I am so giddy that I don't even know where to start.
Just finished
and enjoyed it. Different take on demons. LOL.Only 1 TSTL moment, easily glossed over as she decides to ride her motorbike that I didn't know she had and therefore gives me an August Genre Juice Challenge book. Yay!
Listened (yes, me, doing the audios) to
. Since my library has most of the series in audio, going to see if I can get through them. Love this series :DRead
, another awesome series!Listening (I know, I'm on a role) to
, which is funny for now, but may get annoying. Going to start
tonight.
I just finished
yesterday and it was freaking fantastic. I am going to miss those characters. I may re-read it.I also just finished
, sad to say for me the series is starting to go downhill. Obsidian Butterfly was one of the best urban fantasy books I have ever read, ever. I actually recommend people just reading that even if they have never read another Anita Blake story (I know of 2 people who actually started the series, by first reading Obsidian). Oh well. 9-10 good books is really good for a series, so I will take what I can get. :)I am now going to concentrate on 3 books I have had going for awhile, I want to finish all 3 by Sunday and have a clean slate for my third week of Bingo and I will be on vacation all week!
(this last one by audio)
*raises hand and waves wildly in air*I'm one of those that was introduced to Anita with Obsidian Butterfly. I was kind of a snob when it came to my books back then. If it wasn't thick enough (at least 300-400 pages) I wouldn't consider buying it, even at HPB! I figured I just wasn't getting enough book for my $$$$.
Read Obsidian Butterfly, fell in love, and started scouring HPB for anything else I could find. Had to buy about 3 of the earlier books at B&N cuz LKH was so popular that HPB couldn't keep her on the shelves!
I started reading Turnskin today. VERY different take on shifters. They are more like chameleons in that they can mimic any Skin (human) or Shifter shape and color there is.
Regina wrote: "No. I believe there are 23 books planned. :)"Ok. Hubby hadn't mentioned it was, but your comment had me wonderin'. He did say he was liking it better than he was initially. :)
I'm reading
Well, he just said he was a bit disappointed. Which, for him, must mean he really didn't like it. He's a man of few words. LOL! But, last I checked, he was enjoying it more.
Cindy how funny!! I wonder why so many people I know start with Obsidian? Maybe bc it was published in the 2000s?
Regina - I started with Obsidian Butterfly for a couple of reasons.First - the size of the book. At the time I wouldn't even look at the smaller books. I finished them too fast.....
Second - the title. LOVED IT! The blue cover almost turned me off (so NOT a blue person) but the title redeemed it for me.
I devoured the book in about 2 days (while working 10 hours a day) and within another 2 days had all the previous books in my hands. I then started at the beginning and read them straight thru. Including rereading OB.
I used to reread the entire series every couple of years, just to catch up, but haven't done that in quite a while. I REALLY need to catch up with it. I did read at least 3 books into the ardeur - I still love Anita's slutty self!
I'm reading Storm's Heart. Power has been out for a few hrs and we're reading by candlelight. Hubby said, "like the olden days.". Had to laugh b/c we're both reading eBooks. Maybe modern olden days? :)
Finished
and loved it! Now reading
and am surprised how quickly it's moving. I just started it last night and am already almost 50% through it. I just keep saying "one more chapter and then I'll stop" and then I just keep going. :)
Cindy thanks for the explanation. That is so Interesting and a funny coincidence! So you still love the series? That is good to hear. I actually dont mind slutty if there is a good story. :)@Steph - sirantha jax is a huge favorite of mine.
I finally finished Never Let Me Go. It was beautiful and well written but the first half was boring for me and the last half was so incredibly sad. There is a sex scene between two lovers that made me cry!
