I just finished
and then found out I have to wait 10 MONTHS for the next book! OMG!!! It didn't have a cliffhanger so much as it just kind of stopped. At a REALLY stressful spot! I have so many questions and I need answers NOW!!!!!!!

Yes, he totally snuck up on me too. But isn't it amazing when you realise how lovely he is? Just comes out of the blue.

So true Moss, I can't wait to read more about him :)I also finished
today and loved it! Action, adventure, politics, ruthless vampires, a dash of romance and a cast of great characters. I would recommend it.I also started
today and I can already see it turn into a hilarious and steamy romp!
Knight of a Trillion Stars! A win on title alone! Hehehe.
Oh good to hear the Greyfriar book worked out. I'll shuffle it higher up the TBR list, thanks Kerstin.

Steph, if I hadn't read those two series I would have loved Mona Lisa Awakening. Even with having read those others, I still enjoyed it, but it did effect my enjoyment. The demon dead character, he is almost lifted completely from the Black Jewels' trilogy, the dynamic between the Queen and her followers -- identical to Black Jewels. I was surprised to see only a few reviewers picked up on the copying. I still might read #2. :)I think I have Greyfriar on my list for September or October.
I read
this morning, it was released today. It comes after Aftertime but before Rebirth. I just love this series. I think now I have to wait until 2012 for #3. I think I am going to wait to read Gathering until the 2nd one is released. :) But it looks good.
Finished
and
, which I really liked before I left. During my plane, train and bus travels managed to read
which was just OK and I hope this series improves. Also
which I liked and thought was better than the first in the series.Currently working on
for my 4th of July read.
Lis, I agree w/you on Bayou Moon. I enjoyed #1, but really liked that one more. I have read a lot of Simon Green's Nightside series. I really enjoyed the earlier books, but, for me, it got to be a bit of the "same ole, same ole". Haven't read the last 3, but I have them TBR eventually. I'll be interested to hear how you like American Vampire. I have that one TBR also.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the series. (Ratings vary from 4-5★ up to #8) It just that you can begin to predict a bit of the story and I prefer to be surprised. The characters and the Nightside itself are wicked. Would love to wander through the NS. :)
I'm reading
and liking it a lot so far, and
which has nothing to do with UF or PNR... A friend of mine lent it to me, we are both big fans of her
Hi SOS group! I've missed you! Well I am reading Delicate Freakn' Flower and I am re-reading Visions of Heat. I love the Psy/Changeling series. After reading Kiss of Snow, I had to revisit the series starting from the beginning. Happy Reading!
Laurielu
Laurielu,I started and almost finished Kiss of Snow last night. It broke my heart to leave for work this morning with less than a dozen pages left to read. But I don't think my boss would accept "But it was a really good book!" as an excuse. LOL.
Anyway, I'm halfway tempted to go back and do a reread of the whole series, also. Hope your enjoying it.
I am reading:
and listening to
I just finished:
which was one of the best books I ever read. I also just finished listening to
which I really really liked.

If I were your boss, I would understand. Reading makes us happy. Happy employees are more productive. Your boss should approve of this reasoning. Dontcha think? :-D
Just finished
which I loved, and I'm about to start
for the BOMCan't wait to read on John Matthew, one of my fave since the beginning

Prepare to do a little sniffing & wiping your nose with some Kleenex or your hankie. John and Xhex's book is soooo good! One of my favorites of the BDB series.
It is a good one, CA. Hope you enjoy it. Before I read it, it felt a bit soon for him to get his HEA. Afterward, I was happy for him and Xhex. Man, I still get frustrated anytime I think about my boys not getting a full book. They deserve one just as much as all the other brothers. There are plenty of people who would be okay with a m/m BDB pairing, esp them. Augh! At least they are going to get something, but it's not enough, IMO. Thus ends my rant. ;)
I finished
and was a little disappointed. Also read
and was pleasantly suprised, this series has been on my TBR pile for over a year and I should have read them sooner... Continuing with
and I picked up
today, so I plan to savor the last book of the dark days series too.
I enjoyed that one too, Lis. But, haven't remembered to pick up #2 yet. It definitely fell into the kidnapped chick turned HEA, but still. LOL!Hope everyone enjoys the final Dark Days book. Was sad to see that series end. I think she did a decent job. The beginning of Burn the Night had me a little worried though.

I, for some unbeknown reason, have been reading a lot of PNR recently. What's happened to me??
A few Shelly Laurenston here and there along with Thea Harrison's
. Sandra was right.Neeexxxtt, I am just not sure what to read. I might as well take advantage of my weird phase and keep on with the PNRs until I get bored and go home to where I belong. It'll probably be
since along with PNRs I've also been jizzing about dragons :/

Let us know what the G.A.Aiken book is like Josie, I'm always on the lookout for a good dragon series.
In fact, if anyone can recommend one I'd be very interested.
I'm just about to start
.
I'm also kind of reading
but I have to admit the idea of starting such a HUGE, epic series is making me quail a little bit. I know, I know, it's meant to be good, but I'm so laaaazy.

@Laurielu: He is so damn sweet, John Matthew. He breaks my heart with every thing he does. I can't imagine how this is going to end!@Steph: I'm up for the Q&B too. There was a novella on them?
I hear ya, Moss. Good luck tackling the giant. Nope, Q&B novella to come ... At some point, not out yet. Maybe she'll change her mind and give them a full book. (But, based on her past Q&A I'd say that's a long shot)

I didn't even realize I liked it until 2/3 of the way in when I noticed that I was sneak reading it every chance I had. :)
Read various short stories / novellas this week:Loved it ~
Very good ~
Just OK ~
Don't waste your time ~
The movie of Sleepy Hollow is far better than the original story.
I know I read Sleepy Hollow in a ghost anthology when I was a kid, say 12ish. I thought it was good then. So maybe that is the target audience. LOL
I just finished
and loved it just as much as the first instalment. I'm currently reading
and it is a good as all the others before. Love Cade!@Moss: I know how you feel about
. I have it on my shelf since earlier this year, as I wanted to read it before starting to watch the show. Unfortunately all I do is eyeing it curiously and then I go and grab something shorter :(
I read
yesterday. I'm still trying to figure out how I felt about it but generally it didn't live up to my expectations.
Amy or "Ames" wrote: "I read

I loved it, and hoping to get to the next one in the next couple of days. Don't think I've completed a book since Connect4 ended. Just aimlessly wandering through my piles of books without being able to stick to one.
Sorry to hear that, Ames. I'll be interested to read your review. Lemme know when it's up.I just finished the Last Survivors trilogy by Susan Beth Pfeffer. I loved #1 (5★), thought #2 must'a been written by someone using her name (2★) and was frustrated by the happenings in #3 (3, maybe 3.5★). But, wow! What a story. Seriously freaky because this is something that could happen. I felt like I should be taking notes in the first book, the mom rocked with all her planning in the face of such uncertainty.
Anyway, now wandering the piles with Vivian looking for something to read next. I'm avoiding my req'd Uni reading, if I can.
Steph those sound really interesting. I absolutely love stories and movies like that. Actually it sounds like a great movie. No matter how cheesy, I enjoy this topic -- I even loved The Day After Tomorrow. :) I just wish it wasn't YA. Hmm, I am going to check these out! Now get to your homework!
LOL! Noooooo, I won't do it! :{ I know, I know ... later. >;)I think those books would make a great movie. I really liked Day after Tomorrow too. I'm a sucker for anything post-apocalyptic. If the last two book had followed the same tension as #1 did, the series would've gotten a straight 5★s from me. Oh well. Still a good read.

I guess I was lucky then. I haven't read either of those series, so I didn't know.
