I haven't read that many, but I felt like Freedom didn't fit with the types of books she had selected in the past. I didn't enjoy it very much.

Lisa (lisarosenbergsachs) | 66 comments I felt that "Freedom" was better written than "The Corrections" which received so much acclaim. In my opinion, the problem with his writing is that he is so busy struggling with huge ideas that he forgets the individuals and writes about prototypes. He did this much less in "Freedom" than in his previous book.

I actually finished Say You're One of Them but it was pretty horrifying. The fact that all that stuff happened to kids made it beyond hard to read.

Lisa (lisarosenbergsachs) | 66 comments I started "Say You're One of Them" and couldn't read more than a couple of the shortest stories. It was too sad. This is poverty on such an abject level that it's hard to fathom especially when it's happening to children.
