I'm waiting for that one. I was in Wal-Mart the other day and I totally peeked at the first couple pages.

Carey | 100 comments Bethany -lots of ups and downs. Great rollercoaster of emotions here.

message 853: by Chels M. (new)

Chels M. (farewell-autumn) I finished The Line (The Line, #1) by Teri Hall . I loved it! The characters are all amazing. I picked up again Wake (Dream Catcher, #1) by Lisa McMann , only 50 pages left. Not liking it, honestly.

message 854: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (amonika) I'm reading The Death Cure (Maze Runner, #3) by James Dashner . I'm only a few pages into it.

message 855: by Julie (new)

Julie I just finished Ashes (Ashes Trilogy, #1) by Ilsa J. Bick , I loved the first half of it and then it turned into a trainwreck! The last half didn't even seem like the same book...

Bethany Amanda wrote: "I'm reading The Death Cure (Maze Runner, #3) by James Dashner. I'm only a few pages into it."

I was really dissapointed with that one. I had to really push through to even finish. I seriously wanted to just give up on it several times. It just didn't come to the climax that the first two books were building to, in my opinion. :/

message 857: by Carey (new)

Carey | 100 comments Wow, The Death Cure was pretty good I thought. And ended how I felt it should have once we found out about the disease.

Bethany Carey wrote: "Wow, The Death Cure was pretty good I thought. And ended how I felt it should have once we found out about the disease."

Well, the ending definitely made sense and everything got wrapped up well, but there just weren't any *sparks* for me. I wasn't excited and on the edge of my seat the way I was with the first two books. It was just anti-climactic for me, but that just me ;)

Bethany Reading Daughter of Smoke and Bone (Daughter of Smoke and Bone, #1) by Laini Taylor and absolutely loving it!!!

So far (and I'm only about 13% done with it. I can't tell you pages, my Kindle only tells me %'s) I agree. I'm not seeing the same kind of *spark* that grabed my attention in the first 2. I'll keep going though.

Bethany Starting Wildwood Dancing (Wildwood, #1) by Juliet Marillier

message 862: by Julie (new)

Julie I just finished Crossed (Matched, #2) by Ally Condie , I was hesitant to start it because I didn't really love Matched but it turned out to be pretty good.

message 863: by Bethany (new)

Bethany I just finished Wildwood Dancing (Wildwood, #1) by Juliet Marillier and Cybele's Secret (Wildwood, #2) by Juliet Marillier which were AMAZING! These books are fantasy done exactly right.

message 864: by Phil (new)

Phil Half way through Gone. Its like lord of the flies written by Stephen King mixed with X-Men. Loving it!

message 865: by Tamara (new)

Tamara (bookruckus) Just finished Crave (The Clann #1) by Melissa Darnell I was pleasantly surprised :) Now I'm debating between Sweet Venom (Medusa Girls #1) by Tera Lynn Childs and Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs (Jane Jameson, #1) by Molly Harper

message 866: by Carey (new)

Carey | 100 comments Gone is an awesome book! I'm finally into Birthmarked for the November read. Very good so far and just getting weirder. Can't wait to finish it.

message 867: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (amonika) I just finished Bloodlines (Bloodlines, #1) by Richelle Mead yesterday. I was disappointed with it.

Getting ready to start Hades (Halo, #2) by Alexandra Adornetto and then on to Hollowmen (The Hollows #2) by Amanda Hocking .

message 868: by Julie (new)

Julie I started Until the End (Final Friends, #1-3) by Christopher Pike today but Legend (Legend, #1) by Marie Lu was waiting for me when I got to work today (I work at the library) so I will be starting it.

message 869: by Bethany (new)

Bethany Reading Carrier of the Mark by Leigh Fallon , which I am currently underwhelmed by.

Also reading The Gauntlet Thrown by Cheryl Dyson , which was free on my nook and is actually really fantastic. I highly recommend it :)

message 870: by Lauren (new)

Lauren | 18 comments Just finished Shatter Me (Shatter Me, #1) by Tahereh Mafi and it was SO good.

message 871: by Tamara (last edited Dec 05, 2011 08:57PM) (new)

Tamara (bookruckus) Picked up Left Hand Magic (Golgotham #2) by Nancy A. Collins yesterday at work, reading an ARC of Halflings (Halflings #1) by Heather Burch from net galley.

Candice (thecrj) Lauren wrote: "Just finished Shatter Me (Shatter Me, #1) by Tahereh Mafi and it was SO good."

I'm about 2/3 through Shatter Me. I agree; it is really good.

I just finished Incarnate (Newsoul, #1) by Jodi Meadows and Grave Mercy (His Fair Assassin, #1) by R.L. LaFevers . I could not put these two books down. Lots of lost sleep from them.

message 873: by Bethany (new)

Bethany I'm dying to read Shatter Me!

I just finished What Happened to Goodbye by Sarah Dessen . It was so good. My first Sarah Dessen experience and I absolutely adored this book!

message 874: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (amonika) I just started Incarceron (Incarceron, #1) by Catherine Fisher . I'm hoping it picks up because so far I feel a bit lost and it really isn't making a lot of sense.

Bethany Amanda wrote: "I just started Incarceron (Incarceron, #1) by Catherine Fisher. I'm hoping it picks up because so far I feel a bit lost and it really isn't making a lot of sense."

It was a bit confusing for me too. I feel like the author could have provided stronger imagery. It was hard for me to picture the world she was trying to describe. That book kinda just left me with a 'blah' feeling.

I didn't read the description of the book prior to starting it. Those first 3 chapters or so I was like "what the heck is happening" and it is just confusing. I have heard good things about it, but so far it is just meh for me. Glad I was able to get it from the library for my Kindle rather than buying it. It seems like kind of a dud.

message 877: by Andrew (new)

Andrew | 22 comments Finished Ashes (Ashes Trilogy, #1) by Ilsa J. Bick and The Walking Dead Rise of the Governor by Robert Kirkman . Loved both of them!

I've been reading The Death Cure (Maze Runner, #3) by James Dashner on and off for about a month now. I am having trouble getting into it. In my mind I am just ready for it to be over and I'm tired of all the constant questioning and confusion from the characters. Anyone else feel this way or is it just me?

I also started Inside Out (Insider, #1) by Maria V. Snyder and it's very enjoyable so far.

It was really hard to get into. I did finish it, but it took a lot of concentration on my part to stay engaged.

Haha...YES! The Death Cure was quite the challange for me. I was like you. I kept picking it up going "maybe this time I will finally get hooked in". But honestly, that never happened for me. I was relieved when it was over. But, I was really disappointed with the book. I feel like it didn't really satisfy based on what the first two books were building up to.

Started Wolfskin (The Light Isles, #1) by Juliet Marillier , because I love Juliet Marillier and I won't rest until I've conquered all of her books!!!

message 880: by Julie (new)

Julie I just finished Dark Inside by Jeyn Roberts , great book! I hate when I read online though because I never know the end is coming until the last page!

message 881: by Terri (new)

Terri (terrilovescrows) | 10 comments I just started World War Z by Max Brooks

message 882: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (teoe) I finished Crossed. I can't wait to see what happens next. It was a little jumpy switching narration so frequently, but I did enjoy it. I do think that she could've likely wrapped up the whole story in one book, though. I hate when it feels like a book got chopped up to be able to make more money off a trilogy/series.

I am currently reading Clockwork Angel, and I'm enjoying it very much.

message 883: by Bethany (new)

Bethany I jot got Froi of the Exiles (Lumatere Chronicles, #2) by Melina Marchetta in the mail and I can't put it into words how excited I am. My husband looked at me, then looked at our kids and said,"okay kids, say goodbye mommy" :)

Lucky! "Say goodbye mommy." Ha ha! That's hilarious. I spent about 10 hours yesterday reading Finnikin for the first time (I had to keep re-reading the good parts). Blew my mind. I came out the other side of that one like, "Where am I? What year is it?" I have serious post-book depression now. But I ordered Froi online today so that made it a little better. :) Have fun reading!

message 885: by Bethany (new)

Bethany Yes!!! Gotta bring more people over to the cause, lol. I'm so glad you read it finally. And FROI will be worth the wait. I'm only about 80 pgs in and I just can't stop giggling with excitement. I probably sound demented, but it's a lot like getting together with old friends and I'm having so much fun doing it. And Melina is as fantastic as ever. FROI is NOT disappointing!!!

message 886: by Julie (new)

Julie I just finished Graceling (The Seven Kingdoms, #1) by Kristin Cashore on audio today, I really liked it! I was a little impatient with the narrator though because I wanted him to read faster!!

message 887: by Tamara (new)

Tamara (bookruckus) Just started Existence by Abbi Glines I've been waiting to read it :)

message 888: by Lauren (new)

Lauren | 18 comments Here are my latest:
Eve (Eve, #1) by Anna Carey Really good book. The ending is so frustrating though - I'm really happy there's going to be a sequel.
Clockwork Prince (The Infernal Devices, #2) by Cassandra Clare Very very good. It ended at just an impossible situation, I can't wait (another year) for Clockwork Princess.
Dark Inside (Dark Inside, #1) by Jeyn Roberts Excellent book. Interesting spin on things.
Legend (Legend, #1) by Marie Lu Another good one. Too bad there's no series here.

I enjoyed this book too. I tried listening to the next one (Notice I do not say sequel since to my understanding it is not.)
Fire (The Seven Kingdoms, #2) by Kristin Cashore , but I am having difficulty for the same reason. The narrator is too slow. I am going to try and read it on my Kindle and see if I can get into it that way.

message 890: by Nicki (new)

Nicki (ophia) | 6 comments I'm reading The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer (Mara Dyer, #1) by Michelle Hodkin . Just about half done. It's ok but I'm definitely less than wowed.

I think Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth will be next. I've had it for awhile and just keep getting distracted.

I believe
Legend (Legend, #1) by Marie Lu is going to be a series, it says Legend #1.

Sandra "Jeanz" | 49 comments Just about to start reading Replication The Jason Experiment by Jill Williamson got it from Netgalley

Now read about 10% and it seems really promising ...my kindle needs charging though!

message 893: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (teoe) I just finished Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices #1) by Cassandra Clare . I liked it a lot. I am no reading Clockwork Prince (The Infernal Devices, #2) by Cassandra Clare .

message 894: by Julie (new)

Julie I'm STILL reading Clockwork Prince (The Infernal Devices, #2) by Cassandra Clare and I started it on the 7th! It's not that I'm not into it, I just keep getting distracted by something else every time I sit down to read.

message 895: by Julie (new)

Julie I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this but Graceling (The Seven Kingdoms, #1) by Kristin Cashore is $.99 for Kindle today. I'd recommend it if you haven't read it yet.

I was disappointed by The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer (Mara Dyer, #1) by Michelle Hodkin too. I didn't hate it, in fact I really enjoyed bits of it, but it felt like it kept getting in its own way and squandering its potential. Some parts I'm still not sure what happened or how things tied in to the larger plot.
And I wish Noah wasn't quite such a jerk. Liking someone who seems like a jerkish man-whore but isn't is one thing, but when they really are I have a harder time.

I hope you enjoy Divergent (Divergent, #1) by Veronica Roth ! I need to re-read that one soon.

message 898: by Andrew (new)

Andrew | 22 comments Finished The House of the Scorpion by Nancy Farmer and Inside Out (Insider, #1) by Maria V. Snyder . Definitely enjoyed both books!

On to Outside In (Insider, #2) by Maria V. Snyder .

message 899: by Nicki (last edited Dec 22, 2011 02:56PM) (new)

Nicki (ophia) | 6 comments I didn't like Noah. He did have his points (the animal lover appealed to me) but the man-whore tendencies kept coming out and ruined the character for me

I'm almost 100 pages into Divergent and so far so good

I just finished Inside Out and I thought it was excellent. I have to wait for Outside In to come out at the library (for Kindle). I have a stack of books waiting and I'm not sure what I will pick up next.
