Hey Karen. Have you ever made a database of names so that people can just click on their name and go to their ROAR challenge folder without having to look for it? You can do it with HTML. I could set it up for everyone. It is mostly a copy and paste exercise. Here is what mine would look like.

I knew you would be able to do it, Karen. You are a whiz. Another of my groups did this, and it worked so great. Thanks for the list, glad my idea was worth doing.
Thanks, I love when groups do this! Makes things easier. I actually have a list where I keep all my links and find it sooo much faster than scrolling through threads :)
I want to join the challenge. I know I won't finish or win but I want to see how far I get. Being a mod has its responsibilities you know. LOL
I don't see this is a fail or pass challenge, simply as pick-a-shelf in extreme mode, lol. An opportunity to read from multiple shelves in a month, and explore different genres. Doesn't sound too stressful, right? ;) I'm definitely not aiming to complete 25 books each month, that's just crazy talk (for me)!
Yea, let's not go into stress mode here... so the challenge is absolutely HUGE and I know, there's no way I'd be able to read that much but it is a Challenge, you can pick and choose which challenges you wanna do, if you don't wanna do the whole thing :) The aim of the challenge, go as big and wide as you possibly can (so try to pick ones that you usually wouldn't go for?) and we're here to support you too!
No worries, not stressing here. :) I was just joking with Lynne about how much I love the challenges, but how little I seem to get done on them, lol. It doesn't keep me from joining, at least. I think I am challenge challenged. :P
I'm with you there, Lyn - I have to restrain myself physically from joining many many other challenges - as it is, I've got about 5-7 going through 2011 and I'd probably wouldn't be able to resist to join some other ones also which lasts few weeks in the year :p
Oh, I'm a sucker for challenges! I resisted for the longest time, but after my first one, it spiraled from there. I think I've got about 10 ongoing ones right now, and I know I've definitely read more since joining them :)
The part I have the most fun with is trying to meet as many of the sub-challenges as I can with a single book so that I can get as many points as possible in a "do-able" amount of books per month.Maybe my challenge should be to try and increase my total points per month for each month I participate.

Please add me to the list.
Hey KarenI just finished the mini SAT in 4 books. Is that 50 points...or 50 points for completing and 50 bonus points for less than 5? I think someone asked that at some point and I can't seem to find the answer :-/
btw, I love the easy access links to our pages :)
Good work, Christina!
And yes, it's 50 points for completing PLUS 50 points for completing with less than 5 books!
And thanks to Lyn for suggesting to set up easy access :)

HiI want to do the ROAR challenge but I'm not sure if I have to officially say that. I kind of quietly did the 2010 challenge but didn't report because I didn't join the group until August or so.
I have been kind of hanging back the same way about the ROAR but I noticed that people have their own threads with complicated layouts for how they report. Uh. So... do I just start my own thread for this?
(Sorry, I'm sure this has been said several times, but I didn't see or understand it, I guess)
Hey Rachel. Please do join us. You don't have to create your own thread (only if you want to) - u can keep track of your reading elsewhere, it's fine. Let me know if you have any particular Qs in the challenges :)
Rachel, I don't think we officially report until the end of the month and a folder will be made for us to report in. At least that is my understanding.
I wasn't sure if I should ask here or on the other thread so feel free to move this as you feel the need. Will there be a list showing where everyone is at the end of every month, or do we just need to check everyone's personal thread?
Thanks!
There will be a reporting thread which I'll start at end of month (monthly reporting) so that's next week for January ;)
Christina - If I've added correctly, I'm at 280, so let's say we're both doing pretty darn well, and someone up there *ahem, Natasha* is just an over-achiever! :P
Question... Can we get still get credit for the mid-monthly challenge if we don't finish it that same month? ex. Can we claim January's mid-monthly (black cover) challenge if we finish the book in February?
Christina, the condition of the mid-monthly challenge was that you would have either in the middle of reading the book or started reading the book in the 7 days that they were open for the 'taking' but you can finish reading anytime (according to your pace)
for the around the world - can we hit the same country more than once? I seem to be stuck in sweden for three books now...lol!

2. your own challenge thread, if you wish to create one
3. monthly progress report threads
