Aynge (ayngemac) | 1202 comments I have to admit I stopped making them years ago. I would get a new journal and on the first page I'd write them down, but then invariably forgot about them.

In general I try to strive and be a better person on a daily basis, but I can't think of a specific resolution that I actually accomplished. There must have been one but it can't have been a major one since I can't remember.

What about you?

Kristine Victoria | 2 comments I probably have made a few, but I guess I never followed thru till years later.
I think the one that I would like to make this year, is just to be a better person and move forward. Except for people I knew, there is no need to look back. One of the things that it has taken 40+ years to learn is that we can't change our past.
I hope everyone has a wonderful New Year.

Janice (jamasc) The only resolution I made that I kept was to make no more resolutions.

Rebecca White (rebecca_white) | 1027 comments I do a lot of reflecting and like you used to, write about what I want to concentrate on. I'll put it that way. Although I can't say that I make a whole new start and change overnight, I do think the reflection and writing does help me focus and change. This year I think I'll do it again, write down some things I want to work towards, and make a point of reading them over regularly.

I'm thinking that the thing that doesn't work is the "from this day forward I'm a different person!" approach. Most lasting change is gradual and kind of organic, isn't it?

Sarah | 13814 comments I have plenty of resolve, but I don't need to wait for new year's to make resolutions.

I get really annoyed with how full the gym always gets in January. Then they all disappear by February or March. I wonder how many millions of dollars are made by gyms collecting monthly memberships from people who stop going.

Oooh, I've kept that one too!

Grrr, and the resolvers always fill up the parking lot!

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments The resoluters are already getting in the way at the gym. I'm trying to think of ways to break their spirits so the machines are less crowded.

I once made and held a decent Memorial Day resolution, but that was because I drank and ate pizza for three days in a row and was sick of myself.

message 17: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 1106 comments I've resolutely resolved to not have New Year's resolutions. And in resolving to have a resolution I have failed, or have I?

Happy New Year!

message 19: by Félix (new)
