Muddle head (adic) | 4646 comments Am sure the group doesn't have any mod settings that can change this.

I don't understand what exactly is the problem here. From what i understand, you are expecting an email and/or notification for this thread and u r not getting any. Am seeing the same too, am not getting a notification or an email for this thread, while it says am still following this discussion subscribed for individual e-mails. Will check if any new bugs are posted on the feedback group

message 302: by Lit Bug (Foram) (new)

Lit Bug (Foram) | 1354 comments I don't want any mails so I signed up for notifications. Now it has changed to email by itself, so ok, if I don't get notifications, I should get at least emails - but I don't get either and at the end of every thread, I have to change my preferences to my desired 'notifications only'.

❄️ Propertea Of Frostea ❄️ Bitter SnoBerry ❄ (berrynumey) | 4 comments Did you click on 'save' after you opted for notifs? :/

message 304: by Lit Bug (Foram) (new)

Lit Bug (Foram) | 1354 comments Since many members do not have a thread posting every book they read during the year, do you folks have a thread about the books one is currently reading? I don't want to end up creating duplicate threads and I couldn't find a similar one so wanted to know from the mods - I'd like a thread where people post their current reads - I get most of my recos from others' reading lists.

Lit Bug (Foram) | 1354 comments I've tried this number of times and didn't get it right. How do I post a weblink to another page on GR in a way that the address doesn't show, rather the text I want to add shows?

e.g., if I want to post a link to a review of mine, I normally copy-paste the link. But I want it to appear as "My Review" in the form of a link.

How do I do that? I've been advised to look up at the (some html is ok) link above my text box but every time I try it, I get it wrong. Can anyone post it step-by-step here please?

Lit Bug (Foram) | 1354 comments Won't we be having new books for Group Reads now? It's already almost August, and any way, nobody's reading or discussing actively the ongoing books - in case new ones are selected, there is at least a higher chance of discussion than there is right now...

message 320: by Muddle head (new)

Muddle head (adic) | 4646 comments Lit Bug, did it now. Back in May we chalked up a plan to revise group reads and re-start from July. But it never happened. Started now.

I too will try and join in. Somehow I couldn't read the previous ones.

message 323: by Lit Bug (Foram) (new)

Lit Bug (Foram) | 1354 comments How do I insert the name of a person as a recommender in a book I have marked as to-read?

It was mentioned in a comment and I want to mark it with that person's name for future reference. I know it is possible because people to whom I have suggested books (who are not on my friends list) have included my name when they added it to their TBR pile.

message 324: by Ahtims (new)

Ahtims (embeddedinbooks) | 47117 comments Mod
I think its in the review section. If you scroll down after adding your review there are options for when the book was bought, who recommended it, how many times it is read and so on,,,

Open books? I didn't get it - what exactly do you want to do?

message 328: by Ahtims (new)

Ahtims (embeddedinbooks) | 47117 comments Mod
if you mean adding books. You can search for books in the search box given in the top of the screen, then click on the link below the book cover where you can add in respective categories - to read, currently reading or read. You can also create other shelves than these basic shelves.

En avenue, we did consider. I am not a great sharer due to past experiences. I have never got back a book I lend. But there were a few members who were enthusiastic.
I will try and find the link for you

Please respect authors' work by not encouraging piracy. There are legitimate free books available online, but it doesn't sound like that's what you're referring to.

I strongly feel we need fresh talent as moderators. I am nearing my 6th year here and am feeling a bit jaded. The other moderators are also too busy with their work pressure. If anyone wants to give it a try, please put in your names.

message 348: by Muddle head (new)

Muddle head (adic) | 4646 comments Bumping up this thread. We sincerely request fresh hands to take reins of the group, if you don't want to see this group turn into just another haunted mansion in Sippy's horror shows :(

message 349: by dely (new)

dely | 5485 comments It would be sad if this group would slowly die. I had already read Smitha's message but didn't say anything because I don't want to become moderator for many reasons.

I hope some other member will appear and take this task.
