He tossed the sword to the ground. "I'm gonna go snag a snack from the kitchens. Remember; If you screw up everyone hates you." He said menacingly before slipping into the shadows.

"Damn you," Deitra called after him. She scowled, and glanced at the others around her. "Rest of you, hide."

But Jasmine wasn't there anymore. While she retreated to the forest, someone had tackled her and defeated her, and now she was lying in the forest, trapped in her own vines.
Slipping behind Deitra, Lucas advanced toward the flag, where he spotted the dreaded son of Phobos. Why him? Maybe the strategy here wasn't so bad.

Evander had been strolling around the flag, axe on his shoulder, slightly annoyed with the poor preperation of Ajax Gremm. He'd been expecting more from the warrior... but all it had taken was one simply mental image of his girlfriend screaming in pain because of him and he'd been easily overwhelmed, bearing a deep axe wound to the shoulder.
"Hi, there," Evander said cheerily, stepping towards Lucas and ready for the battle. He'd kept a solid report of everyone on the battlefield, and was pleased to note that the Hebe camper who was in a relationship with Lucas was seriously injured.
"I thought you'd be with Chiron to be with your girlfriend once she recovers from her faint," Evander continued in his slow drawl, sending Lucas an all-too true picture of the dark haired Hebe camper lying crumpled at the base of a tree.

Lucas cringed at the image, but it wasn't as bad as what he'd seen before with Myra. His brows, though, furrowed with concern and anger, glaring daggers at Evander. But he promised himself, after this, it was straight to Myra. Screw Blue team, this is for Myra, damn it.
"Bell," he said curtly, the point of his spear glowing a powerful, almost evil red.

Boot charged into battle, his pistols in hands, his finger on the trigger. After staying in the Blue Territoy, he head gotten bored and decided to do something worthwhile.

"Ding, dong," Evander said in a cynical tone, a cruel smile twitching his mouth. "So listen up here, Cromwell. I'm going to let you go back to your girlfriend. Do you honestly think I give a shit about this flag?"
Utter disdain marking his features, Evander hefted the flag out from its place on the cluster of rock.
"So if you can get past the fear, Cromwell, then you're welcome to take it. I know unfair when I see it." Smirking, Evander threw his axe over his shoulder.
"Ready?"
The fear exploded from Evander's fingertips; fears of dying, fears of losing people one cared about. Again the two females came to mind.
Myra shouting at Lucas, pretty features twisted in anger, shoving him away. I don't love you. Then her and what Evander thought was the boy's mother lying in bloody heaps, graphic scenes of torture.

Lucas dropped his spear, unprepared for the wave of fear that struck him, crumpling to the ground. He completely forgot about everything, the stupid flag and game, the visions were so real, they needed to be stopped. "No, please," he moaned, wanting desperately for it to stop. I love her. I love her. It's fake, I love her, I LOVE HER.
But then his mother. Getting up blindly, admittedly trembling with fear, Lucas stumbled toward the flag, the torturous fear slowing him down.

Wow.
Evander didn't strengthen the pain nor lessen it; he could admire bravery and courage when he saw it, holding the flag out. Lucas was tantalizingly close.

message 111: by [deleted user] (new)

But the images were so vivid, and Lucas stopped, a combination of his dead mother and Myra hitting him hard. Keep strong, move along, he chided weakly, taking another shaky step forward.

Evander kept the fear going at a constant, a cruel smile curling his lips as he saw how Lucas was getting. Hurry up and get the damned thing.

message 113: by [deleted user] (new)

Finally, Lucas' trembling hand (his entire arm shook, actually) circled around the flag's pole.

Evander released the pole and stepped back, cutting off the magic. "Good luck, Cromwell," he said in a quiet voice, eyes glittering. "You'll need it."

message 115: by [deleted user] (new)

Lucas said nothing. He merely nodded and took the flag, picking up his spear and turned around, sprinting away and to the creek as fast as he could.

Adrian awoke groggily, sighing. Now that he looked back he realized escape roots and shamed himself. He started to get up, picking up his astrewn blade he turned it back to a necklace and put it back on his neck.

Evander strode through the forest towards the meeting place at No-Man's Land, axe slung over his shoulder, customary smirk at its place on his mouth even though his team had lost.
