Character Crushes
YES YES SAF FROM BITTERBLUE I HAVE SO MANY FEELS ABOUT THAT BOY GAH.
Has anyone here read The Raven Boys? Because gah, all of them are just jaklsdf;jasdf.
Also, about the Doctor. I love all three of the Doctors from NewWho. I tend to view him as, well, one person. And each regeneration shows a different side of who he is and I find that really fascinating.

Me toooo. I didn't realize how much I loved it until a couple hours after I read it. I was sitting in my room and I was so sad and lonely because I missed the characters. This happens to me quite often, but it's never happened to me on the level it happened with The Raven Boys. Maggie Steifvater is definitely one of the people I aspire to be like someday.

I know, right? The characters were so good. It was definitely my favorite book of hers so far. :) And yes, she's awesome! I saw her talk at this book signing thing once and she was so cool. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to talk to her, although I did get to talk to Libba Bray and Meg Cabot so ... that was an awesome day. XD
Ah so lucky! I won tickets to go meet her, but it didn't work out because I checked my email too late. I was so disappointed.

My secretary wrote this princessy story to make fun of fairy tale clichés, and one of the princesses is this eleven-year-old girl...and I swear I have a crush on her...it's bad. I squealed aloud when it talked about her wearing a red dress.

I don't know who Ethan is, but Percy and Peeta are pretty boss. ;)
Still have an enormous crush on Ferrin. *sigh*

Psh. I'll ask Brandon what he thinks about that on Sunday. :D

Really? I don't know if you've read both books or just the first, but Ferrin is so fascinating to me! According to Rachel, he's "not bad-looking", and Jason notes that he can whistle well and has good pitch, so he already has two of my weaknesses down. But there's just so much to him. He kicks trash when it comes to swordfighting and he's decent with a bow and arrow. For crying out loud, he knows how to knock someone unconscious with a single blow to the head. He's intelligent, versatile, sneaky, knowledgeable, practical, has a good sense of humor, and yet he has this weak side that almost no one sees. He constantly doubts himself because of the life he's lived. You'd think that what other people think about him doesn't matter to him, but it does. He says the main reason he (view spoiler) in the first place, besides tradition, is because it's easier and safer. I think that's quite believable. He doesn't willingly (view spoiler) because of principle, but rather because the circumstances force him to. And yet he puts so much effort into the rebellion. Whatever he does, he does well, even if he's not sure of himself and others aren't happy about it, because he just wants to understand himself and he genuinely wants Galloran to be right about the kind of person he is. And he has this respect for talent, no matter who it comes from. He does have flaws, or at least dark sides to him, like his skepticism and his willingness to take an enemy's life. His character always keeps you guessing. I think, as a reader, that's tremendously fun to watch.
I just find it endearing that someone with the street smarts and general aptitudes that he has can still be so troubled and confused. I relate to him a lot. Plus, the idea of a displacer is fascinating in and of itself. Their abilities are cool, but they were made that way for a purpose, and it's interesting to see him use them both at others' expense and for others' benefit or just for himself.
There. How's that?

...still hate him. :D But that probably has something to do with the fact that I am not a pubescent girl. XD
Or maybe it's just because we have different opinions and that is okay. XD

I definitely see the Vanessa parallels. That's part of the reason I think he'll stay good as well. He also bears some similarities to Warren, who was one of my first and biggest character crushes, so I've been doomed from the start. Hehe.

I was like that until literally a month ago. Then a girl I really like wrote this story with this eleven-year-old girl who just…made me feel stuff.

He's from Beyonders, so I won't spoil it for you.
I actually have mentioned him on this thread before, but there are several character crushes I have from that series and that author, so I think you're safe. ;)

I think I had a crush on Nico DiAngelo for a little while but... Meh...

Aw, sorry.
I have a celebrity crush on a guy who's turning 30 this year.
As for characters, none of their ages are specified, but I'm pretty sure one of them might be at least 40. And that's not counting any members of the Amar Kabal...

I used to talk to my own characters out loud when I was bored. That's about it.

As for Eleven, I've only seen one episode with him. I was not impressed.
