I think the forum is great but I would like to know how people know what is being released. I dont have much money so cant subsribe to those magazines that tell you and I do not have anyone who can tell me what is coming how do i find out please. I have heaps of books where I am waiting for the next book eg trilogies etc but sometimes I miss them because I dont know. Is there anyway of finding out and even having a bit of a write up, like I never knew about Paolini's or Bridge of Clay or Where she went. thanks heaps you do a great job tho
We need a better.......way of choosing a group read book. I mean, I realize that many of our likes when it comes to books differ, but something that people will read and take part in (if another is planned). And PEOPLE need to commit to joining in a discussion if they vote to read a book and have it and can read it/have already read it.

Even if it's not your top choice of book, you might like it. It's a way to "explore", so to speak. (speaking as someone who joined after the group reads stopped, though)

And I wasn't saying we have to pick a book everyone likes, but it's a nice way to sort of....unite us group members.
And we only had....1? group read? I think and it was Maximum Ride wich was okay and all, but then after that, no one really seemed to want to do another one.
I feel like this way we have something we can all talk about. (Aside from the insanely popular books almost everyone has read)Again, I don't know how it works in practice, but in theory, I like the idea.
Yeah....when we suggest books for the group read, it shouldn't be something insanely popular and well-known like Harry, Percy, Maximum Ride, or Hunger Games. It needs to be something less known like.....Incarceron or something.
I agree. I know exactly two people who have read that book, and one of them is me. The other is the friend who gave it to me. This way people can read stuff they might not have heard about, and talk about it with people who have read it.
Yeah. I know that mod Amelia has read it and it's sequel. Then My brother and soon me. My library is holding a book club thing for it where we'll talk about it and stuffs so then the person doing the book club, and probably (hopefully) one of my friends who is a regular at these book clubs.
It's good. Not great, but good. I thought the ending was too much of a setup for the sequel, but still. The sequel just came out (in America), so I have it out from my library, but I haven't read it yet.
Well you get that with some books.Yeah, I know about the sequel, it's in processing at the county library and my borther's gonna get it out as soon as he can.
Yeah, that's why I love my library's system. There are individual libraries for each town, but it's a county system, so you can go to any library in the county, or put books on hold from anywhere in the county to come to your library. And because it's something like 43 libraries, they have most (but not all) books)They also often have the option of putting books on hold long before they get the book, so I had Sapphique on hold since August or so, and I got it almost right away when it came in.
Geez! I love AND hate my library system. Sometimes it's amazing, but then when they don't get books that you've been waiting for till MONTHS after they've come out It's annoying. :)Yeah, same with mine. And it's better if you're the person who requests the book cause then you automatically are put down with a hold on it and get it first.
That's cool. For the most part, the library ( or one in the system) just gets new books as they come out, but if they don't have a boo that you want, at least in the YA section, there's just a little box where you put the suggestions anonymously. Then you get to wait on line along with everyone else, if they get it. Unfortunately, they can't take all the suggestions, because the YA section has a really limited budget.
Ours is really good, but even the best has its limits. Plus, I'm so used to the amazing library that I've gotten spoiled.:P
Maybe if you come up with a few choices/ask for suggestions, and when you have enough, do a poll?I would assume that because there are so many people, even if everyone doesn't read it, enough would.
Post 16: yeah, i like the way it's set up.I would probably..... hmmm.....Maybe make sort of a panel of members to come up with ideas? idk. just an idea.
I really like how active this group is, and how you're always creating new topics to keep things exciting. This group is a lot of fun and I can't think of anything bad about it :)
Thanks, Jaiden. That really means a lot. (even though I'm not a mod, i've spent a lot of time in this group, trying to help with certain things.

*presents Hannah with an award*NO, before you ask, I don't know what the award is. Use your imagination.
bah, Hannah, for you're awesomeness you get another prize, on behalf of the mods!
*Hands Hannah: 10 inch Unicorn hair and Redwood wand*, one of the last Gregorovich wands ever made. We hope you enjoy it, and use it wisely.
Oh, and stay tuned, because Mods are soon going to begin discussing group reads and adding a fifth Moderator...

How amazing, Hannah. Though I myself would prefer an Olivander.Cool! Congrats to whoever gets it in advance. (What if, for some reason it was me? That would be awkward, congratulating myself.....)
lolz. Mod isn't chosen by asking, you are picked carefully by the current mods.....at least from the way I understand it....
That's one way to do it. I don't think it would work as well now, though.Speaking of mods, what happened to the mod tags?
