I can only read books that I already have (I'm trying to reduce my paperbooks due to my impending purchase of an e-reader) so...Could I read The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo for a book about Dragons? (That was the only thing I have that could qualify.
Here are some books I found set in Delaware (I haven't read any of them.):Unspoken Fear
A Gentleman's Game: A Novel
Hawkes Harbor
Devlin's Light
Here are some Delaware romance writers I found googling. Don't know if any of them are any good or not as I havne't read any of them...Judith French
Candace McCarthy
Linda Windsor
Colleen Faulkner
Janet Cooper
Donna Clayton

I'll give you a pass on that D.G. : )
A question about category 9. Are we supposed to choose a place that has opposite weather of where we are? For example, I'm in GA and it's winter. I would choose somewhere that's in summer?
Here are a few more links for Delaware books:http://www.bookssetin.com/p1/976/Dela...

Here's two mysteries set in Delaware..Hooked Up: A Stock Car Racing Mystery
A Cold Day In Paradise
Here is a True Crime story from Delaware..
And Never Let Her Go: Thomas Capano: The Deadly Seducer
Fran wrote: "Immortal byV.K. Forrest is set in Delaware."V.K. Forrest is from Delaware also, its a pseudonym used by Colleen Faulkner.
Need more Delaware suggestions please. Nothing listed so far is at my library and I'm not buying anything for this category this yr.
Michelle wrote: "Would Nightshade work for either the flower or time categories? or just the flower?"Technically, it should only be for the flower. But if you need it for 'time', you may use it.
Fran wrote: "Yz, can I use a book by Maureen Johnson for Delaware? (Message 18)"Hmm....i guess, we can assume that while she was going to school she was living in the state. : )
Sure.
Ok, thanks Yz- I was going to skip that category but I happen to have 13 Little Blue Envelopes and noticed someone else was using it so I thought I would check- thanks!
Thanks Yz, I think I can rework the Time category with Kiss of Midnight. I've been meaning to re-read it before reading the rest of the series. I was just searching through my Kindle and spotted it :)
Yz- gots a question!! since we have had a really mild winter here...like we get an inch of snow and the next day it melts and then its like 50-60 degrees (in the middle of winter) - could I use a book that has an extreme weather...i.e. antarctica...cause i'm reading In Cold Pursuit: A Mystery From The Last Continent....please, fingers crossed ;)

yay!!! its actually a really good book that I was going to read anyways...you just made me feel all happy ;)
Yz, I was just reading Dana Marie Bell author page and she said she had lived in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. Is that good enough to be a Delaware author?
Sandra wrote: "Yz, I was just reading Dana Marie Bell author page and she said she had lived in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. Is that good enough to be a Delaware author?"Yes, that is good enough. : )
Yay for the Delaware category, I was just going to give up and skip it this month. Thanks Sandra and Yz!
As much as I love to read, being at college doesn't really help my case. But I am going to try for five of the ten. : ) I chose:1. Jacob - Jacquelyn Frank
3. Hawkes Harbor - S E Hinton
5. Fantasy Lover - Sherrilyn Kenyon
6. Dragon Rider - Cornelia Funke
9. Free Pass - Elizabeth Scott
Wish me luck! School starts Monday : P
I'm a new Goodreads author. I'm also the senior producer of The Bold and the Beautiful. My first novel Soul Mate would fall into the forbidden romance or taboo category although my literary manager was sufficiently impressed to send it to publishers as literary fiction.
It's about a 26-year-old Latina teacher and her 18-year-old student who discover, through an oddly mystical connection, that they are soul mates. How do they deal with the disapproving world around them and can we root for them? Readers have been responding to the second question with a resounding "Yes."
Betty White (Yes, THE Betty White) gave me a quote: "Not since The Bridges of Madison County have I been so involved in someone else's very private life. For an even more impossible forbidden love you MUST read Soul Mate. You won't put it down."
You can check out some chapters and read other quotes and reviews at http://www.SoulMateTheNovel.com.
I'd really appreciate comments from any of you who choose to take a look.
ok, so total random factoid for anyone who might still need a delaware book - Hunter Morgan is also Colleen Faulkler, who is also VK Forrest and is the daughter of Judith E French...all of which would work for a delaware author...haha!
I looked up books with shelves classified under DOVER, since Dover is the capital of Delaware, and it gave me:
I read it 9th and, midway, I realized it was a different Dover. How could I know there's also a Dover in the UK? My 10th book is
and it's 1,400 pages. If I have time, I'll read another Dover, hopefully Delaware book. If not, I'll cheat the Geography category. :((

Special thanks to the members who regularly stop by at the Suggestions Thread and share their input. It definitely helped me a lot when I put together the monthly categories. Thanks, guys.
1. January: Read a book which title starts with “J”.
2. Birthday: Read a book from a January B-day celebrant’s GR bookshelf whose “day” falls on the same “day” as yours. If no one has the exact same day, then go for the closest date. (http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/2...)
3. Geography: Read a book whose author, setting or character is from Delaware.
4. New Year Read a book by an author that is 'new' to you.
5. Beginnings Read a book that is the first book in a series, or a debut novel by an author.
6. Appreciate your Dragon Day Read a book that has dragons in it.
7. National Take Back Your Time Week Read a book with time travel, or has an element of time as part of its title (midnight, noon, evening, etc).
8. Rose Parade: Read a book that has flowers on its cover or as part of its title.
9. January Weather Depending on where you are, January can be a 'cold' month or a 'hot' month. Read a book that is set in a place that has the opposite weather to where you currently are.
