Rachel (treychel) | 1484 comments Oh, the Fever series. Love it! As someone told me a few weeks ago, make sure you have BloodDREAMfever on hand. The cliffhanger is killer in Faefever!

*Edit* Sorry Bloodfever equals Dreamfever!!*

A Voracious Reader (a.k.a. Carol) (avidreader68) Hehehe I think that was me, Rachel. :)

Rachel (treychel) | 1484 comments There we go! Carol told me. Sorry, I couldn't remember who it was! And just for the record, I haven't got to start Dreamfever yet so I am still hanging. Grrr!

Samantha Mullins (hixxup79) yeah I have the entire series so I'm alllll good there

message 256: by Kristina (new)

Kristina (kristinalawhead) I'm working my way through the last 3 or 4 Clique books. I think they're fun, easy reads!

message 257: by Sashana (last edited May 20, 2011 05:20PM) (new)

Sashana I love the Clique books too! I think I got up to The Clique #12 These Boots Are Made for Stalking by Lisi Harrison .

So about 5 pages after I posted the above, suffolk's situation changed dramatically so the issue I was having went away. She's still switching back and forth a little but it's no longer a distraction. She writes a good historical-- this is the third one of hers I've read and even though I usually have 7-8 books going at once, I find when one of them is one of hers, the other books I'm reading get neglected.

message 259: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (jhaltenburger) Just started The Stolen Crown: The secret marriage that forever changed the fate of England The Stolen Crown The secret marriage that forever changed the fate of England by Susan Higginbotham which seems so far to be about the same story as The Queen of Last Hopes The Queen of Last Hopes by Susan Higginbotham only told from the perspective of some characters on the other side of the conflict. Interesting, and I didn't realize that when I started it. Plus it's the last book I need for a couple of my May challenges so BOOYAH!

*Ash* (ashdex) | 56 comments I'm currently reading Appassionata by Jilly Cooper and am in love with it. The previous book in this non-series, series (the author claims its not a series), was not so good. But I am loving all the characters in this book, and some of the characters from the earlier books returning, which I'm digging.

message 261: by Samantha (new)

Samantha Mullins (hixxup79) read Faefever (Fever, #3) by Karen Marie Moning & Dreamfever (Fever, #4) by Karen Marie Moning and getting ready to read Shadowfever (Fever, #5) by Karen Marie Moning

message 263: by Kellyflower (new)

Kellyflower | 248 comments Reading Extreme Exposure (I-Team, #1) by Pamela Clare . It's my first Pamela Clare book and I'm already hooked.

message 265: by Shadow Jubilee (last edited May 30, 2011 07:38AM) (new)

Shadow Jubilee (uhqs) After removing a book or two to my "finish later" pile, and completing another at last, I'm down to 5 books in my Currently Reading list.

I'm still working on Spirit Bound by Richelle Mead. I had set it aside to read other books. I'm finding it slow going, partially because Rose's actions and the subsequent consequences make me uncomfortable. Now I have to decide whether to finish it now or to finish it at a far later date since it's already overdue at the library.

I also started The Sleeping Beauty by Mercedes Lackey for the All About Me Reading Challenge. Already her writing style, once familiar and beloved, is grating on me but I'm doing my best to ignore. It's been a while since I'd read her previous Five Hundred Kingdoms books so now I'm wracking my head to remember who Lily was.

Spirit Bound (Vampire Academy, #5) by Richelle Mead The Sleeping Beauty (Five Hundred Kingdoms, #5) by Mercedes Lackey

message 266: by Erin (new)

Erin (erinecarroll) I started The Murderer's Daughters last night which I am reading for the "All About Me Challenge". I really like it so far because it is extremely different from the last few books I read. There are definitely some sad parts in the book that make me feel grateful for the life that I have because of all the things these two young girls have to endure. I would definitely recommend this book and I'm only on page 98!

message 267: by Lacey (new)

Lacey | 61 comments I'm reading Need (Need, #1) by Carrie Jones Which I'm none too excited about but I promised a friend I would read it.

But does anyone have a favorite book they'd like to recommend to me? I'm want to try something new...suggestions?

message 268: by Kristina (new)

Kristina (kristinalawhead) Im reading If I Stay (If I Stay, #1) by Gayle Forman , I like it so far I think, but I'm only on page 50 or so

message 269: by Shadow Jubilee (new)

Shadow Jubilee (uhqs) I've started The Neverending Story by Michael Ende. I have a feeling I'll be taking my time with this. I'm also interested in checking out the German version but I probably won't touch that considering my limited German has become very, very rusty. lol.

A Prayer for Owen Meany. One of the very few "modern" books I've given 5 stars to. I noticed you like YA books, have you tried Ellen Hopkins's series that starts with Crank? Or Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys?

message 273: by Lacey (new)

Lacey | 61 comments Thanks guys and I haven't read any of those books. I do read young adult but also read other genres, it's hard to pick a good book out of thousands, good to get ya'lls opinions, so thank you. But I also heard of The Fever series, don't know much about it, do you?

Anyways, thanks again guys, definately will try and check those books out.

Chelly (teamderek13) | 62 comments Lost by Michael Robotham Lost by Michael Robotham
This is the 2nd book of the Joseph O'Loughlin series and I love it!! It changes main characters from the 1st book so that the old main character is now a secondary one with someone else narrating and a larger cast. It's a great story. Complex but not confusing.

message 275: by Lacey (new)

Lacey | 61 comments Finished Need, thought the main character was too corny and the writing was immature but that is just my opinion...

I'm now reading The Girl in the Steel Corset (Steampunk Chronicles, #1) by Kady Cross Which I am loving so far, the writing is really good and the plot is thick, love books I just don't want to put down...

message 276: by Sashana (new)

Sashana I'm reading six books at the moment but the ones I'm focusing on are Magic Slays (Kate Daniels, #5) by Ilona Andrews and Eon Dragoneye Reborn (Eon, #1) by Alison Goodman . I honestly can't complain about them. They're really good.

message 277: by Samantha (new)

Hamilton Dream Warrior (Dark-Hunter, #17) (Dream-Hunter, #4) by Sherrilyn Kenyon The Iron King (Iron Fey, #1) by Julie Kagawa Winter's Passage (Iron Fey, #1.5) by Julie Kagawa since may 24th

message 278: by Sashana (new)

Sashana I'm reading:
Dash & Lily's Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn - Good book. It started off slow but it had some seriously funny moments so far. The writing will suit adults because it doesn't read like a YA book.
The Queen Bee of Bridgeton (Dancing Dream #1) by Leslie DuBois - It feels like pulling teeth with me trying to finish this book.
Outside In (Insider, #2) by Maria V. Snyder - I don't even know it this qualifies as "Currently Reading" because I haven't touched it in weeks.

message 279: by Shadow Jubilee (last edited Jun 11, 2011 11:36AM) (new)

Shadow Jubilee (uhqs) "I don't even know it this qualifies as "Currently Reading" because I haven't touched it in weeks."

lol, Sashana. I wonder that too sometimes. When I get tired of seeing it on my "Currently Reading" shelf and I have a feeling I probably won't get to it for another set of many weeks, I put it back to my TBR pile as well as my "finish reading" shelf.

I'm reading Vision in White by Nora Roberts. It's not bad so far. I thought that the Prologue was really cute.

I'm reading Sophie's World and realizing it is more of a history of philosophy than a novel which means I feel like I'm actually learning something. lol.

I "read" Rise, Let Us Be On Our Way by Pope John Paul II - or rather, listen to it - when I am working out. Problem with doing so on an iPod is that there is no way to bookmark the last spot you were on. Hmph.

The other four books on my Currently Reading shelf are apparently just decoration. lol.

Vision in White (Bride Quartet, #1) by Nora Roberts Sophie's World (Paperback) by Jostein Gaarder Rise, Let Us Be On Our Way by Pope John Paul II

I'd feel pleased about the fact that I have on my Currently Reading shelf more books outside of my normal genre(s) than normal ones but the truth is, I've been completing my normal genre books in between my Currently Reading books.

CαthεεBooks (catheehales) I'm trying to read Wuthering Heights (it's hard cause my first language is French, but I am good in English).

message 281: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (jhaltenburger) I finished three books I've been working on-- Franklin and Winston Franklin and Winston An Intimate Portrait of an Epic Friendship by Jon Meacham , In the Shadow of the Crown In the Shadow of the Crown (Queens of England, #6) by Jean Plaidy and Spinning into Butter: A Play Spinning into Butter A Play by Rebecca Gilman . "Franklin" was wonderful. "Shadow" was good in the beginning and then. Just. Got. Tedious. I was glad to see the end of it. "Spinning" was both good and disappointing-- it's about racism and she seems to get close to an a-ha moment without actually reaching it completely. But then, that may well be part of her point.

Shadow Jubilee (uhqs) Reading The Snow Queen by Mercedes Lackey. It's okay so far but I don't recognize the fairy tale it is drawing from yet.

The Snow Queen (Five Hundred Kingdoms, #4) by Mercedes Lackey

Samantha Mullins (hixxup79) i'm still reading Incubus Dreams (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #12) by Laurell K. Hamilton having a hard time sitting down and reading it. I'm like 151 pages into it, and already i'm slightly confused, and then another triumvarate or however it's spelled WTH??? Does this book get any better?

message 295: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (jhaltenburger) I finished all but one of the books I was reading:
Busy Body (Agatha Raisin, #21) by M.C. Beaton Finger Lickin' Fifteen (Stephanie Plum, #15) by Janet Evanovich The Quick and the Thread by Amanda Lee Extreme Measures (Mitch Rapp, #9) by Vince Flynn and enjoyed them all. Now, to finish Sew Deadly (A Southern Sewing Circle, #1) by Elizabeth Lynn Casey and start The Runaway Quilt (Elm Creek Quilts, #4) by Jennifer Chiaverini . Gotta pick a new audio, too--maybe Sweetwater Creek by Anne Rivers Siddons which I'm reading for a summer challenge.

Samantha Mullins (hixxup79) I haven't been reading lately, with homework, and I've started watching Game of thrones so I've been blah on reading lol

message 297: by Sashana (new)

message 298: by Samantha (new)

Samantha Mullins (hixxup79) yeah that's me right now I got 2 weeks left then I can read like a speed demon thru July until middle of August and then my reading will slow down again.

message 299: by Sashana (new)

Sashana At least it's only 2 weeks. I won't be able to read properly until the end of July. I'm not complaining though, it's a nice change. (Let's see what I have to say about that in a few days)
