Sashana- The Host wasn't bad once I got into it. I found it a little slow at first.

I started on The Weight of Silence by Heather Gudenkauf last night. I'm a few chapters into it so far and its a bit of a page turner.
Now I'm reading The Wedding by Nicholas Sparks and I'm loving this book. It's been a hard book to put down

- I wasn't terribly impressed, but I think the book was made more for middle schoolers which is probably why I didn't like it. I felt the plot was forced and the author was obsessed with the word "bitch" which I found strange for a YA book. I also found random swear words/inappropriate words scattered in the text that had nothing to do with the story. Almost like someone was screwing around with the text and then they didn't get edited out. I only noticed it a couple times, but still...annoying...Currently Reading:
- I don't know what to say abut this one. The sex scenes feel like a 12 year wrote them and it constantly flip flops between a story of a woman's sexy dreams and a rapist preparing for attack. I'm guessing the stories align and make more sense at one point, but I'm not there yet. 
- I got my hands on the audiobooks for this series and thought I'd have a listen since the move comes out next month. Only on chapter 2 and already almost cried. Yea...I'm a wuss...Starting Soon:
- Just picked this up from the library and am stoked to start reading it!
The good thing about The Hunger Games is that each book gets better -- a rarity for series. Do the [HG] books have a long waiting list at your library, Jex?
I'm now reading Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close and so far it's kind of weird because it's all over the place.

which is very enlightening. I had no idea that food allergies were such a controversial topic. I am learning a lot from this book.
@Sashana - I don't know about the books (I own those) but the audiobooks took me a good month in a half to get. They are the MP3 ones through overdrive and not CD though, so might have been able to get those faster.

I am on the second chapter now and it's still extremely weird, I don't know that I'll be able to finish it but I am going to try.

Is Under the Never Sky any good? I've read a few of the most recently hyped books and been disappointed. Yay, library... at least they were free.
My library needs to get it together. Our YA catalog is really lacking in new releases. I don't understand it, I live in a major US city; it's ridiculous really.
Just a few books I've been working on for a few weeks (or in one case, over a month) now:
started early/mid January. Still only at 18%. Can't seem to muster up enough enthusiasm to read for more than a few pages at a time. 
Faltered at 37% so I skimmed ahead *sheepish*

I also ask for specific books. If enough people ask, they do go and buy them.
I'll have to ask them tomorrow, Shay. I've never seen a suggestion button on their website.

Something like "What if a book I want isn't in the catalog?" It goes into ILL, with link, and request the library purchase the book, with link. And that's the only place in the whole website I found the link to request they buy a book.
I found it! Thanks, Shay :) They hid it away in the FAQ section like you said (why would they do that?). I'm going to suggest like crazy when I get the chance to. While searching through the FAQ I also found out that I can check out 50 items instead of the previously thought 30. Booyah!

Could be. Maybe they're trying to cut back suggestions because of tight budgets so they hide it away? I'm going to see if we have a feedback section because I think it should be more visible for everyone.

Chapter 4, I don't think I'll be watching the movie. If I didn't like the book I don't tend to watch the movies. I'm starting Camouflaged Killer: The Shocking Double Life of Canadian Air Force Colonel Russell Williams now since I just finished Don't Breathe a Word

I'm really liking Under the Never Sky.
I'm not done yet , I have about 79 pages left. I'm glad it's gonna be a trilogy, because I don't think she could answer all my question and wrap everything up in one book.
It did take me about 60 pages or so for me to really get into the story.
My library has it on the front page too. A nice feature, but I've never had to use it.Natasha, where do you live? My county (Tarrant [Fort Worth, TX] County) does the same thing. I can also get books from Saginaw, Burleson, Benbrook...just to name a few!
I have a large library system as well. I live in Montgomery(Conroe, TX) County and our library has 10 branches but it still takes forever if you are on hold for a book, no matter the number of copies there may be.
Our library system has 25 branches and has full access to two other library systems. We can even see the other library system's whole collection online, status of books, etc. I miss the old days, when there was money and they would buy 300-400 copies of popular new release books.
- So far I am really loving it. It's typical zombie stuff as far as the monsters go, but making them an implement of terrorists is interesting. I am liking it enough that I went out and bought another one from this author last night.

Have you ever been to Freebird's? One just opened down there a week or two ago. Really good burritos. I worked there for four years before I quit to go to school. Best and funnest job I have ever had!
I didn't realize it was open. I knew they were putting one in because I live five minutes away. I have been to several all over the state of Texas. I lived in Austin for 1 1/2 years and then I moved to San Antonio for 3 years before moving back home to the Houston area. They are really delicious. I have a cousin that lives in Frisco and there are some really good eats up in the Dallas area too.

I didn't think this series was fabulous, it was just okay, but I do like the Infernal devices series.

They are open! mhy boyfriend still works for the 'Bird (which is also where we met SIX years ago) so I still get the inside scoop on everything. I would love to live in Austin one day. We are slowly working towards that goal. Every time I visit I fall more in love with that city. Dallas does have wonderful places to eat. If I had the money I would be eating out breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
