Judy (julianka) | 38 comments One of my favorites was also a disappointment. It was Dial H for Hitchcock by Susan Kandel. I wanted SO badly to read this because I'm a Hitchcock fan as well as a cozy fan, so it seemed like it might be the most perfect cozy ever. I got it from my library and it took forever for it to come by interlibrary loan. Finally I had it in my hands, I read it in one sitting (kind of rare for me), and I loved it - and yet was totally disappointed in the way the plot was resolved. The ending was really lame and a total letdown. But overall I loved the Hitchcock references, and it was FUNNY. I mean it was REALLY funny, almost too funny, for a mystery.

Donna (weegraydog) (weegraydog) My favorite read from 2010 was The Speed of Dark (Ballantine Reader's Circle) by Elizabeth Moon --very interesting story told from the perspective of a person with Asperger's. My biggest disappointment was Inkheart (Inkheart, #1) by Cornelia Funke --from the premise, I thought I'd really enjoy it, but the story just wasn't that good.

Doug Beatty | 10 comments My favorite this year was Curse of the Kissing Cousins although it is an older book, it was new to me, and I read the second in the series Who Killed the Pinup Queen?. I still have to read the third.

The most awful book I tried to read was Spider Bones I loved her earlier stuff, but maybe becoming a best seller and a tv producer has stilted her writing.. this one was awful.. I didn't care who did it.. I dropped it maybe halfway through.
