Oh, I'd love to do that. Hope it'll be a calm school week! *fingers crossed*

I can't believe it either... And I just finished it this week! Oh my.

Nichole ~Bookaholic~ (nicholebookaholic) I have the audio books and have started them this week so that I should be finished with Dreamfever by the time Shadowfever is released....

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 73 comments Gonna start my series re-read on New Year's day, I think.

☻Nikki☻ (nikkic1998) I started my reread earlier this week. Finished Faefever this afternoon. Plan on starting Dreamfever this evening. I also plan on listening to Dreamfever on audio starting the week before the release. I even got my boss to schedule me off on the release date so I can read all night long if I need to. Gotta find out how it ends ASAP!!!! I have it pre-ordered on my Kindle and I really, really hope it arrives at midnight or at least close to it. I'm afraid it won't be until 3 am or something so that it's midnight on the West coast. Guess I'll have to wait and see.

Tiffany | 4 comments Nikki how did you get ahead of me????? I thought we were gonna read together!!!! Oh well, perhaps I am too slow and using my highlighter too much!!! I'll get with ya on our website and we'll do a cuss and discuss of our theories!!!
Starting Faefever now!!!!!

message 6: by ☻Nikki☻ (new)

☻Nikki☻ (nikkic1998) Tiff...sorry. I tried to slow down and not read them so quick but this is one series that makes it really hard to stop in between books. I was gonna wait til I had all my notes together and get back with ya. I haven't started Dreamfever yet so we should be still pretty close :)

True Love Forever (trueloveforever) | 329 comments Just a thought about Barrons. i am re-reading Darkfever adn Mac ask Barrons what his nationality is. He says pict. And she calls him a mercenary. Then there is that memory Mac pushes into his mind and sees of him and the boy. I think he and his men were out os a mercenary job and came back to find their home had been attacked and everyone killed. So they work for the fae and drink from the immortal flask. I don't think he is the UK, but worked for the King or wueeen or both. He was in fairy for a while and all fae are scared of him. He has the power to kill them somehow. I think he was definately human. And barrons refers to the fae as THEM and that he Not one of THEM.

Kylie | 4 comments So I just finished re-reading, and I went into it with three main scenario's..

1.) Barrons as the unseelie king/ His son as the beast(that's the horrible creature the Seelie turned him into for fun after he was abducted walking through the forest)---Some things fit into place but not well enough. Plus after reading Into the Dreaming I just don't think Barrons is capable of being the THAT cold. I've discarded this one after re-reading. It's still possible but I wouldn't bet on it. Yes, he could touch the spear and probably why he expected to be able to touch the book. Explains his powers and why both he and unseelie princes have tatoos and implacable lust. Explains why the UK has been "missing" for a while (He's been wholed up on Earth parading as a human)----Does nothing to explain his change in the desert or the boy in his arms that died, because the UK's son was cursed into a beast in Fairy Court. Plus I just don't see the UK being able to fool the fairy court.

2.) Barrons is a REAL vampire. After closely reading every book, I couldn't find a single inconsistancy that disproved this, but only racked up more and more evidence toward it. My only questions are: How did a vampire end up banging princesses in Fairy? What does the Beast have to do with it? And will the Sinsar-dubh hold the key to how to kill himself or break the curse? If so, is that why he wants it so much? Finally, where does the UK fit in all this?

3.) Jericho is the Beast. My least favorite theory obviously. Honestly, I couldn't find much evidence to support this other than Mac's reaction when the beast turned back into a human.Of course, that alone is pretty convincing. But why remain a beast once he finds her? Also, in Bloodfever Mac hears not one, but TWO baying creatures under Barrons garage and one time she hears it Jericho is in the garage with her. If Ryodan and the others are beasts as well, why is Ryodan in his human form but not Barrons?

So here's a list of my vampire theory evidence:

1.) Mac only ever saw Jericho during daylight hours once, and the day was described as being so dreary and dark that the streetlamps were on. Moning seems to be very concerned with subtle mentionings of time when Jericho is concerned.
2.)Jericho claims that he knows the sewer systems better than anyone
3.)Explains all of his hints that he doesn't know how to kill a vampire, and that he has a death wish himself.
4.) The fact that he knew Malluce wasn't really a vampire.
5.) Why Ryodan and the crew are like him (Slight problem of how Ryodan was in the daylight with Mac at the end of Dreamfever-it's possible it was still pre-dawn but It didn't seem like it)
6.)Explains the scene in Mac's hotel room when he traces her pulse with his tongue
7.) Explains why he had his face against her neck at the end of Bloodfever and was apologizing to her for something she couldn't understand. And why he was telling her that he wasn't going to let her die even though she was obviously about to die. When she asked if he had any better options that eating unseelie he hesitated before saying that he didn't.
8.) Explains his continuous claim that he's the only person that will never let her die.
9.)Would explain some of the Fiona conversations. Such as "Fulfilling his needs" Obviously implying something more than just sex. And the pause, then sharp gasp of pain, then another pause while Mac is eavsdropping on them.(Him biting Fiona)
10.) Perfect solution to how he is not fae or human, but is feared with special powers and could kill a fae without a Hallow.
11.) Explains his strange reaction in Rocky O'Bannions religous sanctuary.
12.) Explains his horrible mood swings.
13.) Explains his reluctancy to touch the spear since it could be considered a religous artifact itself. Also, I thought it was strange that when he did hold the spear for Mac, after she took it back he stuffed his hands in his pockets. Could it have burnt his hand, but he cleverly concealed his pain and hid his blistered hands?
14.) For many of the little inconsistancies concerning vampires, he did state that a vampire who had fed recently and deeply enough could do just about anything.

Of course, for everything I add to the list, there are dozens other that contradict it. Also, there could be hybrid theories such as Barrons is the UK, but is cursed as a beast-like thing or a vampire. Or he is a vampire, but doesn't make other vampires, but rather other beasts. Hey it's magic, it could be anything. Overall, I've finally decided that I'm just going to stick it out 6 more days and have all my questions put to rest then. If anyone has anything to add or dispute let me know. I'm very interested.

Finally.....weird, random questions or comments.

What's with Ryodan at the end of Dreamfever? There is no way Darroc marked next to Barrons mark while the Princes had her and that's what he was upset about. Why did he give her a funny look when she said the Beast was IYD? It's clear he's not to be trusted. But what's his true motivation? Why did he tell her to "Get the bloody fuck out of here!" as he was slitting the monsters throat, when only a few moments before he was trying to lead her away?

Does anyone else get the sense that Rowena is evil?

Where the bloody hell does the dreamy-eyed boy fit in?!

Also, in Highlander's Touch Circenn mentions that if an immortal spills his "seed" into a mortal woman it bonds them telepathically. Could this be why everyone is so concerned with Mac's sex life?

...Okay now I'm really done. Haha.

True Love Forever (trueloveforever) | 329 comments I have thought of the vaqmpire idea before too. Remeber when he carried out the dead women. Barrons i smostly around at night, but V'Lane told Mac Barrons was approaching when it was midday I thought in Dreamfever. And I think there were other times he was out during the day. Very interesting though. And having the whole thing with Malluce may be forshadowing that he could be a vamp. What is Mac and what is Barrons?

Kylie | 4 comments Yeah well too bad I just read the first few chapters and my theory was shot down...lol

True Love Forever (trueloveforever) | 329 comments not completely. We all thought Barrons is immortal right. We still don't really know what happened. I mean how it happened and what caused it too happen. I think this whole story comes down to going back in time to change things or to use the book to remake things.

Gaynell (gaynellk) | 42 comments I, too, can't get it out of my head that Barrons is a vampire. I went back and read some of the old myths on vampires (this was awhile back). In some of the old myths, vampires only slept on certain days - I think it was Saturday nights (could be wrong as it has been awhile since I read about it). So, he could possibly be out on the other days.

Lisa X | 56 comments Did anyone else notice in the begining of Dreamfever, Moning briefly describes a new character but then never mentions him throughout the book. He is part of Barron's entourage. When they all storm into the Abbey to get Mac. This is Dani's point of view:

"One of 'em looks like Death himself, with white hair, pale skin, and hot dark eyes that assess restlessly, incessantly. They fix on me. I cringe."

Anyone have any thoughts to this?

message 14: by ☻Nikki☻ (new)

☻Nikki☻ (nikkic1998) I just assumed that was Ryodan. He has the white blonde hair doesn't he?? Or am I mistaken??

True Love Forever (trueloveforever) | 329 comments Mac sees Ryodan for the first time at Chester's: I took a few more steps into the room. I wanted a better look at him. ...Like Barrons and my escorts, Ryodan was tall, well built...sleeves rolled up on thickly muscled forearms. A silver cuff, identical to Barrons...handsome, chilling man...His tie was loosened an din the open collar of his white shirt his neck was a skein of scars, with a long wicked one streching up the left side from his shoulder to ear. (WOW, just had a thought, maybe Barrons/Beast can heal from an injury like this. Ryodan did obvisiouly and Ryodan did the same wound on the beasts throat and down the chest to bowel. And I remember one time Ithink Mac was actually dead after the book/O'Bannion had her adnhten she inhaled, came back to life adn Barrons wa like, What are you?)Maybe Ryodan looked funny at Mac when she calls the creature the IYD one because she doesn't knowthat the beast is Barrons. I think they all must turn into "creatures" that is what Ryodan calls them, not beasts.Maybe that lady was one of the creatures and they had to kill her to release her fromt eh creatures form. Someone suggested that idea a while back. After re-reading it adn seeingthe scar on Ryodan's neck adn that he survived I think i trust Ryodan again. lol Ryodan says, " The creature will attack anything in your vicinity. At the moment, that's me. I can get you out. It can't. It only Kills." What if these men made some kind of deal with the fae or god or the devil to be able to protect those they love after what happened whenthey came back and found there people dead, remember Barrons and the boy. The men had returned witht Barrons and all found those they loved dead. I don't think Ryodan was at the abby when Barrons got Mac, because when they go to Chester's he says that is the first time he has ever seen anyone like Dani before. And i can't find a better description of him anywhere, no hair or skin or eye color, just big and muscle.

Yeah, I cant seem to find a better description either. I picture him similar to Barrons. I'm really intrigued what Moning is going to do with Ryodan's character. Possible love interest with Dani when she grows up. Hard to tell because Moning is always full of surprises.

Nicole (thebookwarrioress) | 130 comments I noticed that guy in the entourage in my reread as well. I didn't think it was Ryodan, btu I was definitely intrigued. I hope she brings him up in Shadowfever or the other series.

I like the idea of a grown up Dani and Ryodan. But isnt the next series about Christian?

message 18: by ☻Nikki☻ (new)

☻Nikki☻ (nikkic1998) I honestly thought she was setting something up between Dani & Ryodan. There was definitely interest/tension there...at least on his part. Maybe she will write their story after Christian's.

I hope she doesn't do like she did with the Highlander series. She would give backstory on side characters that I thought sure would have a story about them in the future but alas...no. I think she has intentions of writing the stories on these people but doesn't have time??? Who knows? But I'm like Vale...I would prefer Ryodan's story.

True Love Forever (trueloveforever) | 329 comments ME Too. remember when he is talking about her. He says he has seen nothing like her before and that life was interesting again. Barrons kind of says the same thing about Mac.
