Ruby (rubita) | 11 comments Does anyone know anything about this planned sequel? All I can find is confirmation on the author's website and that it's listed here on Goodreads: Unwholly

I still don't see an update on this book yet!

message 4: by Tatiana (new)

Tatiana (tatiana_g) I've heard that it is scheduled for late 2012. And also that it is going to be a trilogy.

Haley (thatwritergirl75) | 25 comments I heard something somewhere that part of the plot is about a new scientific method that, while on the surface, may not seem as bad as unwinding, also has its controversies.

I'll try to find the source for that.

Haley (thatwritergirl75) | 25 comments It's actually right here on Goodreads. Get on the page for Unwholly and scroll down to Denise Chavis' review. The new technology is called "organ printing."

This book is amazing!! I loved it! Oh wow... this book is everything I have been waiting for. I thought the first book was really good as a stand alone book. So at first I wasn't looking forward to a sequel. But I loved Unwind so much there was no was I was not going to read UnWholly. What an amazing imagination Shusterman has! All the new characters I absolutely fell in love with. I really want to get to know them so much more... and can't talk too much about them without giving away spoilers.

The climax at the end of this book is so exciting! There was no way I could stop reading. This is a good second book in a trilogy. Too many times the middle books is just straight filler. And now I have no idea how the third book will top this book!!!! AYE!

If you have not read this series well now is the time to start. It is really fantastic and much better then a lot of the young adult series out there.

Kellyflower | 28 comments A couple quotes:

"The sad truth about humanity, Risa was quick to realize, is that people believe what they're told. Maybe not the first time, but by the hundredth time, the craziest of ideas just becomes a given."

I feel it's true, which makes it very scary

"In fact, that fear triggered the war more than anything else. One side claimed the ferals were created by the collapse of family values, while the other side claimed the ferals were a product of rigid beliefs that no longer met the world's needs."

This to me has a lot of today in it. I know I've said many times I thought the collapse (ok I didn't use that word.) of family values was what is hurting us as a society.
I liked how the beginning of the book has a "and the answer is...." section. It refreshed the story line without taking up a lot of story time in the new book.

Miracolina - Her essay on "the life your going to live" made me think for a split second about how unwinding helps people. Which I why I think Shusterman put it in there.

I felt Connor was kinda lost in this book. Where the new player Starkey made me think of a slow moving virus that you pick up and don't know your becoming sick until it's too late. Oh I really disliked him.

There were several things that made me sad . (view spoiler)

So I thought maybe this book would end not in a jumbled up mess and I could wait for the next book. But it ends in such a way I feel p*ssy I have to wait so long for the next one.

It was good, just not as good as Unwind.
