Me: Van, Lord of the Flies is awesome if school didn't dwell so deep into all the themes! Simply put, imagine a day n' age with no electronic devices and dropping a bunch of kids/teens on an island. What would happen? Things start off great. NO PARENTS! And gradually disintegrate. You'll learn to hate the conch shell. But it could give you funky ideas for Capture the Flag :P You'll hate school when you read Russian Lit. Or not. Some people really like it. I couldn't get into them.

Me: School puts so much focus on themes with incredibly good books that sometimes it bleeds the good out. I fidget when I see Precious. Animal Farm wasn't bad once I tuned out the teacher discussing allusions to Marxism. I despised English class where they told me how a poem was read. I still believe poetry is subjective unless the author wrote some letter that said I intended for the poem to be read like this but even then...meh. It's like art is subjective to the viewer.
