Lisa (speciallisa) Right 1st book of the year! Here we go! Currently reading the girl with the dragon tattoo xx

message 8: by Mikela (new)

Mikela You picked a terrific book to start the year - not exactly fast paced but really interesting characters and good plot line. I loved it.

Lisa (speciallisa) Hi there, yeah it is a bit slow but I am finding the characters really intriguing and keep on wanting to read just that bit more before I put it down xx

Lisa (speciallisa) Book 1. The girl with the dragon tattoo *****

I think this book is an amazing read! You get to know the characters well and there is so much going on but all comes together and finished brilliantly. Your are not left wondering but what happened there! Looking forward to the next two in the trilogy!

Book 2. The curious incident of a dog in the night time

I read this book in one sitting. I found it a good read. The perspective of how it is written is a lot different to other books, which makes it unique

Book 3. The bell jar

I've been told by 3 different people I need to read The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I finally bought a paperback copy. Now I just need to read it lol. Has anyone seen any of the movies that are based of this series?

message 14: by Mikela (new)

Mikela I saw the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, which followed the plot line very closely, before reading the book. Really enjoyed both.

Hi Mikela,
Glad the movie was good.
Welcome to the group Lisa. :)

Marie Ivarsson (MarieIvarsson) | 30 comments I've seen the movies, kind of hard to miss if you live in Sweden. :-) I actually haven't read the books, but I have them on the shelf, so it's difficult for me to compare.
I think the movies are okay, but not amazing or anything. They can be quite brutal at times. The first book is called "Men who hate women" in Swedish, which gives you an idea what some of the topics in the books are.

Did you like that book (Curious incident of the dog...)? I thought it was sort of an interesting concept to write from that perspective but I was a bit disappointed when I finished it. I guess the good thing is that I didn't have to spend much time on it.

Lesley | 149 comments LOVED the whole Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series, mostly because I loved the Lisbeth character! I thought the first movie was really good and followed the book well. The actress was exactly how I had pictured Lisbeth (Blomquist... not so much)

message 19: by Lisa (new)

Lisa (speciallisa) Kristen that was the good thing about the book that it wasn't too long, it would of really got on my nerves if he had dragged it out longer! Xx

Lisa (speciallisa) Book 3. The bell jar *

I am so disappointed with myself, I really tried with this book but I couldn't finish it! Everytime I went to pick it up I would find something else to do! So I am now on catch up mode or I'll Neva get to 104 books!

Book 4. The girl who played with fire

message 21: by Jen (new)

Jen | 90 comments I couldn't read The Bell Jar either. Just couldn't make myself read it.

Lisa (speciallisa) I'm glad I'm not the only one then!!! I got over half way but it was just feeling pointless to carry on when I wasn't enjoying it xx
