Must reply as goes the Fencing Master. I read this and most of the Perez-Reverte novels. I don't have a consistent reaction to them. They are from hot to cold for me. Some are more fanciful than historical, some are for the puzzle, and some really held the thread.

Just have to comment on this one! Loved both the book and the movie, "Like Water for Chocolate." She also wrote another book later on, forgot the name, but didn't just hit the spot like this one....
