SOLVED. YA Novel about girl who has cancer and does experiment on astrology [s]

I really would like to know the title of this book i read a few years back. The main character is a girl recovering from cancer who gets her education through emailing her teacher. I believe this is called correspondance. She has to conduct a science experiment, and decides to make the topic about something she loves; astrology. In the experiment, three test subjects must look at their horroscopes, daily weekly and monthly, and compare it to their day to see if the horroscopes were accurate.
Her teacher gives her the email addresses of three of his other students. They send her results of the experiment weekly. Each of these teens has a certain problem that they wish to withold from the other three. I can't remember any of the characters' names, I believe the main character was named Kaylie or Cailtlin or something along those lines. One of the experimentees was an albino, another was in a juvenille prison. The last lived on a small island and was homeschooled.

Unforunately I can't remember the author's name, but hopefully this is enough information. Anyone who has an idea about the title please let me know!
