Here's the blurb for my book and the link too.
A topical, hard hitting crime/thriller, that covers the increasing trade in people-trafficking. A female Detective on the hunt for a vile criminal, who kills her partner then abducts her teenager daughter. She encounters many obstacles, including a superior in the Met who opposes everything she tries to achieve to bring the case to a satisfactory conclusion.

Hi Mel, you can add your own book to the shelf. Feel free to
Just click on bookshelf top right of page for anyone else wanting to do it. I've added yours Mel x

Does any one know how to get a cover image onto this site?
Where it says add book, there should be somewhere that says 'upload photo' or did you want to put it elsewhere?
I must say it's good to see more books appearing on our group bookshelf. Please feel free to invite other members or fiends of yours to join us.

Nigel, me again. I tried to do it for you and copied your cover image, but it says you don't have an ISBN number for your book and an image can't be loaded without one. That's why it doesn't show up on amazon either. Sorry.
Okay thanks. This is a problem with books that are eBooks only. I understand that Amazon are going to start recognising ASIN numbers soon

Nigel, if you use an organisation like Smashwords to publish your eBooks, they'll let you have an ISBN free.
I have used Smashwords. I will have to check that out, thanks
Hi,everyone! I'm Shawn Lamb, an award winning screenwriter who once wrote for childrens' animation now turned YA fantasy author. I was first published by Strang Communications, but am now indie with the rest of my series, ALLON. The first two books are out, with 2 more scheduled for release next year.
I have a kid friendly, interactive website and blog where I discuss writing and the business of publishing from an author's perspective.

Just checked on the Barnes and Noble website and my book does seem to have an ISBN assigned through smashwords

Eh? I published an eBook to Amazon without an ISBN and I posted a cover. (I've since withdrawn the book due to agent interest). So unless something's changed on Amazon... Don't know about anything else.
You can post an image of the cover on Amazon but it does not show in the initial search list. Smashwords give eBooks a free ISBN but it does not seem to transfer to B&N

Hi Jill and welcome to the group. We have blogs by the same name and are proud to say we have just been selected as finalists for best blogs for writers!
We'd love to see you on the site and maybe can feature you and your book there one day.

Appreciate the offer, Lorraine. Two awards actually, but a few years ago from the American Screenwriter's Association for an international screenwriting contest and Authorlink, a well-known author/screenwriter site. Neither related to my YA fantasy. I wrote for children's animation before being published.
You may want to check out my website.

And if you're still interested in doing an interview you can email me - shawnlamb@allonbooks.com

My desire to write stemmed from my interest in Family History.
For many years I had collected data about my ancestors - just dry facts and figures really. I started to wonder what life was like in those times, and over a period of 5 years I found out as much as I could about the people, environment and events of those times of my ancestors.
My first story (Living through Hope!) is an Historical Romance about my great great grandmother, who survived the Irish Famine and moved to England in the nineteenth century. Certainly a time of deprivation, but out of which came love and a determination to build a future.

From this starting point I planned a further twelve stories based on my ancestors lives.
My second story (The Waggoner) is an Historical Family Saga starting in a farming community in Worcestershire and building a business during the Industrial Revolution.

So far, these have been published as eBooks. I have tried Agents and Publishers in print, but unfortunately no success as yet.
I have also written an illustrated children's story (Becky's First Ever Day).

I would appreciate any comments and suggestions on a way forward.
Chris

Your idea sounds intriguing. You might want to look at www.ll-publishing.com. My debut novel was pubbed by them and they are really good.

Thanks Ryder - I tried that website, which didn't work. But I found it under

I shall check it out further to see if they offer anything different to Smashwords.

The only qualms I have with any print copy is the additional cost of production, but then it is still not costing me anything to produce - just my time and effort.
Becky's First Ever Day

I was really pleaased and excited to actually see my first book in print.

Becky's First Ever Day
http://www.amazon.com/Beckys-First-Ever-...
Join Becky, the baby chicken, in a series of adventures in an illustrated, entertaining and educationally charming story, that is suitable both for young children, and their parents.
On Becky's first ever day, she gets too big for her comfortable home, learns to walk, finds a friend, and makes some discoveries in the first of a series of short children's stories, lovingly illustrated by the author.
Look out for more children's stories about Becky, the baby chicken as she grows up.
My second book to be in Paperback is 'Living throgh Hope!' - an Historical Romance currently at the proofing stage, so should be available in a few days.
