Has GoodReads changed the way you read?

HAHA. You're like a walking anti-advertisement for GoodReads ;)."
Ha ha. Well when you put it like that...
I used to read books like eating a box of chocolates... just wolfing them down way too fast barely tasting them. I actually used to hurl my books across the room when I reach the last page. Now I savour each bite. I am fussy about the quality, I think about the flavour and I think about how I am going to compare a Kit Kat to a box of Max Brenner chocolates.

I tend to add more books to my to be read list and feel more pressure to get through them because I end up with 8 or 10 public library books at a time with due dates! For a while I let myself get over committed to reading groups and have had to pull back a bit...now I need to get sending for all the interesting books I see on updates and have suggested to me under control.
I seem to have no will power.

I hear you on that one. I found myself looking for a good reading group and end up 'testing out' ten of them. Suddenly all my spare time is spend trolling GR instead of doing real life stuff (such as cooking dinner, having a nap, hangin out washing).
I went to bed last night telling myself "you are not joining a book group that requires you to read a certain amount of books (ie 75 books this year).. My goal is to slow down not rush.
and I rediscovered the joys of reading.
w/o distraction.
