Random Book List #340 (ends June 18)
Random Book List #230I read Written in Red by Anne Bishop and I gave it 5 stars!
OMG I loved this book! I normally tolerate the first book in a series because I know it's a lot of world building, but this has got to be the best first book of an Urban Fantasy series that I've read in a long time! I just freaking loved everything about this book, there was absolutely nothing that I didn't like about it. I now know what all they hype is about with Anne Bishop. This author rocks my socks off!!!

I couldn't agree with you more, Suzanne. It was one of my favorite books of 2014.
I read
for this list and I thought it was a good ending for the series. Despite my rather lukewarm reception to the beginning of this series, I ended up liking it far more than I thought. 4 stars. 4/5

Black Rook by Kelley Meade
, first book in series (can work for Independence) is kindle freebie.I have already read Black Rook which was very nice uf, Vision in Silver was a great sequel (ahnd this is very good uf series too), Hot Blooded which was just ok for me and Dark Intelligence which was too militaristic sf for my taste.
I keep saying I will read something for these lists and I really love them but then other time limited challenges undermine me...
Random Book List #235I finished reading Prodigy by Marie Lu and I gave it 4 stars. It's been awhile since I read the first book in this series, so it took awhile to get into the story again. I liked it though, the story is interesting, kind of similar to Hunger Games.
I finished
last May 16. I thought it was an okay read. I'm not sure about how I feel about the addition of a love triangle. But I'm going to read the third book when I have a chance. 4 stars.

And I just 'A Court of Thorns and Roses' - damn. It was pretty fun and surprisingly hot. If you are looking for a Beast and Beauty fantasy romance - go for it.
Dragana wrote: "And I just 'A Court of Thorns and Roses' - damn. It was pretty fun and surprisingly hot. If you are looking for a Beast and Beauty fantasy romance - go for it."Now, i'm encouraged to find a copy. : )
I finished a
today, 25th. There were parts that were good, though it sorted of lagged now and then. There seems to be a setup for a Love Triangle which I'm not really fond of. I'm giving it 3.5 starts
I read
last June 25. It has been a while since I read the first book so it took me a bit to catch up but the plot continues to thicken. Hoping to find time soon to finish this trilogy. 4 stars.

I have been waiting for
to come out, because I loved the first book in the series, but I don't think I will get it in time from the library for this list. So I am going to read
for
.
read
for
- 2*the worst of the four - the hero's doucheyness throughout the book made the happy ending unbelievable for me. It's 2 days after finishing and I still wanna bitchslap the dillhole.
Finished
yesterday and I enjoyed it. Something about Stiefvater's prose is just so magical and lyrical, it is a delight to read. 5 stars.
I just finished
. I loved it and rated it 5 stars. I will definitely read the rest of the books in the series.
And I finished
on July 31st. 3.5 starsI heard a lot of great things about this book so my expectation were pretty high, so I feel a bit let down after reading it.
Nice mystery, cute romance (although a love triangle - yuck) and amazing setting.
Everything is wonderfully different, but I needed more explanation for food and clothing since Arabian terms were not familiar to me (and I do not like to look at the dictionary at the end - too lazy).
I just finished reading
. Not as good as
. A bit slow and too many plotlines but nonetheless a decent contemporary YA. 3.5 stars
Random Book List #245I finished reading The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater and thought it was ok. I would've given it 3.5 stars, the book started out really slow for me and it didn't really pick up until the last third of the novel. She writes in a very dry voice and it gets kind of boring after awhile. She needs to insert some humor, I think she takes her novels a little too seriously. Tone down the angst.

YESSSSSSS! Then I am in for books 1&2 of Night Huntress
The Hotter You Burn it been in my library for a while, guess it's time to start reading it. Gena Showalter was one of my first favorite author. It all started with the LOTU series.
I've read Once Burned and rated it ★★★. I like the Night Huntress series a lot better (mainly because I don't like Vlad that much) - still, it was interesting enough to continue with the other parts of the series.
I just finished listening to
for
and I enjoyed it very much. It was an intriguing story, featuring an assassin nun, both historical and fantasy, not a romance, although there was a romantic storyline. I'll definitely continue this series. 4*
Elizabeth wrote: "I just finished listening to

Random Book List #250I finished Between the Lines by Jodi Picoult and it was very different from her adult books. This one was happier than the previous book I read which was House Rules. I can't wait to read the next book in the series!
