Stephanie (essjaybee) | 3 comments Hello all!

Right now I'm reading Look Homeward, Angel by Thomas Wolfe

Has anyone else read it?

Haha, I'm still reading The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake.. it'll only take me 20 mins or so to finish, but i've been addicted to Facebook games today =o

message 55: by [deleted user] (new)

LOL Raindrop!! That is too funny, I am not on facebook as much anymore because I spend more time on here!!!

@ Stephanie....I have not read it but glad that it's not as slow....nothing worse then that!!

I am still working on Watership Down...I am afraid to get to the end because I have a feeling that it's going to be sad and I really don't want that to happen...I had to stop reading it at work today because I didn't want to start crying when I was there....I do not know if I will finish it tonight but we will see!!!
I am also working on The Hobbit...sigh!! I miss having the time to read!!

Colleen (herebebookwyrms) Teri-lynn, I had to read Watership Down my freshman year of high school and it's still one of my fav books! Don't be scared to finish it! :)

Right now I'm finishing up re-reading Jane Austen's Persuasion. Next up will be Still Life With Woodpecker by Tom Robbins.

Eve (lederwoman) | 1 comments I'm reading Letters From My Sister: On Love, Life and Hair Removal. Letters From My Sister On Love, Life and Hair Removal by Eve Lederman
These bawdy sisters are laugh out loud hilarious with their romps through a class in NYC on how to break into porn, a Passover Seder with the family's sex therapist and a crazy shrink who has one of them arrested! Move over Chelsea Handler!

I had a hard time getting into the entire The Lord of the Rings when I first picked it up. Something about practically everyone having multiple names confused me. (I had a similar problem the first time I read Anna Karenina.)

And I've started reading The Help, even though it was lower on my "to-read" list than other things, but because it was close at hand.

message 70: by [deleted user] (new)

My Aunt is reading the help and she told me it's a book to love and a book to buy!!!!

Lindsay Nichols | 44 comments Teri-lynn wrote: "My Aunt is reading the help and she told me it's a book to love and a book to buy!!!!"

I did the same thing with The Help as I did with The Book Thief...I would wander into Chapters, pick the book up, read the back and think, "Man, I should just get this book." Sometimes, I buy the book, and I love it. The Book Thief was wonderful and heartbreaking. I'm hoping I won't regret getting this one.

I loved that book! And Wicked : The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West was really good too. But I wasn't impressed with Mirror Mirror or Lost.

I'm attempting to finish Different Seasons and just starting Four and Twenty Blackbirds.

Are you reading all the Narnia books in one go? And, if you are, are you reading them in any particular order?

I've read the first books long time ago, and I think that I stopped at the Prince Caspian, so I thought that I'd read it again. I haven't read the other ones though, I will probably continue reading them when I finish Prince Caspian:)

I managed to make it to Ch XVI then just went 'Hmm, bet I've got other books I can read...' and that was it - may try to get back into it after this one tho' as I don't want an unfinished book on my conscience :P
