Just want to plug my favorite bookstore

Check them out online - they have acres of books on any and EVERY topic. I have found some amazing things in their book store.

Non-corporate, great politics and it is UNION!

Oh, yeah. LOVE Powell's. and lucky enough to be local. I can easily spend all day (and all my spare cash) there.

If you all ever come to Portland, you must stop in.

I occasionally have the opportunity to go to Portland on my employers dime. I spend my evenings for a week parked in Powell's! I do set limits though - I can only buy as many books as I can fit into my luggage to take home (no buying extra suitcases - otherwise I'd be bankrupt)! They are union, have good politics, and, Wow, acres of good books! This must be heaven!

I was once in Barnes and Noble killing time waiting for children's ballet lessons to end and a woman heard me remark that I hate book shops. She looked at me such a look of discussed to which my companion retorted that I hate it because I spend so much money in them.
