SOLVED. YA. Mother and daughter drinking the rain [s]

I can't remember the name of the book, or the author. In turn I also can't remember the main character's name.

This book is about a teenage girl whose mother dies suddenly of a heart attack or a stroke or something like that. The mother is found in the park, under a bench covered in snow. In the beginning of the book, the daughter is waken up in the middle of the night by her mother, who takes her outside to dance in the rain. The mother tells her daughter to drink the rain. The story takes place in New York City(I THINK!)in present times or the late 20th century. The cover of the book is a women in a short red dress, holding black high heels, dancing in the rain, and she looks as if she is singing(but you can only see her mouth, her face is tilted upwards). It's young adult realistic fiction, and I think that it might have been published between 2007-2009.

That's all that I can remember about the book, please help!
