I'll start by saying I hope to find out if that Nekoda girl is a Sephirii. And I also can't wait to see how this book ties into more changes in the regular DH series. I mean we only got a brief snippet of him having these sort of out of body experiences and comatose like state in No Mercy towards the end. So I wonder if Ash will some how come in and try and help him figure out what is going on.

I want to find out if Nekoda is a Sephirii as well. What's up with her wanting Nick to fight with her against the Source to free her brothers. I wonder if her brothers are Jared and Jaden perhaps. That would be interesting. Also, I read on SK's facebook or twitter page that Nick is supposed to have a showdown with Savitar in Invincible. I really can't wait for this book to come out and see what happens.
Wow, was all that info about fighting against the Source on SK's twitter and Facebook page, Desiree? I don't have either, so I think I might be a bit behind on the book up dates a bit other than what I have read off her DH site. Be interesting to know who Nekoda and her family is. And so far the only natural born enemies of the Malachai seem to be the Sephrii so I think it could see him possibly being one of her brothers. And I really hope Nick doesn't go up against Savitar. That would be the biggest mistake most especially as he is still a newbie learning about his powers in the CON books. Hell I actually wouldn't recommend him to do it with full powers as I'd hate to see a fully pised off Savitar....again that is.

Yea I don't recall her mentioning brothers too much from Infinity. Just about her being one of his enemies and how it is her sworn duty to take him out if he becomes the evil Malachai. But she was mostly battling her new feelings for him as she was kind of falling for him a bit towards the end of Infinity.
The part about Nekoda and freeing her brothers was in Infinity. It wasn't a large part but whenever I read one of SK's books I'm always in search of the most minute details. But I read that part and wondered who her brothers were. I'm still unsure about the whole Malachai, Sepherii, and their relationship or lack thereof to the Source.And the snippet about a showdown between Nick and Savitar is on SK's facebook page. I'm thinking that if they do have some sort of blowup it'll be b/w Ambrose(future Nick) and Sav. I remember reading in Acheron that Sav said something about when you try to change the past you f*** it up even worse so maybe he's trying to tell that to Nick and he's being his usual argumentative self. And we all know Sav is not havin that so I'm anxious to see what actualy occurs.
Ah man. Nick is officially suicidal then if he is going up against Savitar. Messing with events in the past or the future totally get on Sav's nerves. We knew Nick well. :(
I don't know how they did it or why, but Invincible is out a week early on audible.com in audiobook format. Yahoo! Thought I would give you guys the heads up.
Oh really? Thanks for the heads up Crystal. I still want a physical copy for my hands. As I noticed with audio books for me, I tend to get so distracted and feel like I need to take notes as I listen so I have all the facts.

Did she ok the one that was done for Ash? I think it was with a fight scene and a blonde guy fighting a bunch of bad guys. Cause if she ok'ed that one then I wasn't a fan of it. As whoever made it used some footage from that old show Tarzan that was on the WB at one time. And it didn't fit Ash at all. More like for Wren I thought but not for Ash.

Ah ok. I only recall his name from when he played in some british movie with the guy that plays Bill from True Blood. Some 90ish horror flick. Didn't get a good look at him then.
I'm not 100% sure about related to either of them. But I do think she is a Serophii though. I mean if she considers Nick an enemy. And we know that Nick is part Malachai. And based on how Jared responds to Nick's Malachai side. Then pretty clear she might be on that side too. But that's my guess on it. I have yet to get Invincible. Can't wait.

Nice. This my first read through. So still kind of new to me. But do have my faves at least so far.
I'm still hung up on the part where Savitar says to Nick something to the effect of go and ask Acheron what happens when you mess with the past...and then says, oh, right, but you can't do that anymore can you...So, does that mean Nick kills Ash in the future??? That's how it read to me. This is driving me nuts :)

No it's fine Francesca. I'm just a little behind on getting the book. I'll be caught up in no time and I know it wasn't nothing major. I just can't wait to read the book.

Q: Do you have a theory on who might be the person infiltrated as Nick's friend?And about Savitar ....you are right, it is rather peculiar that he didn't saw something like that coming. He usually sees both Nick's and Ash's future. I still have my hopes up, that Nick will "see the light" but until then...can't wait for August!!
Hmm I think I agree...with both of you. PS: for a second...a very silly second...I taught that maybe Simi is not really Simi.....but that can't be seeing how she was so in character...that and the fact that I love her to much....forget that I've even mentioned that....I was just thinking at the most unlikely possibility...and Rosa came to mind..but that will really mess up the future.
In the DH series?..no...not that I remember.
I think adult Nick is trying to re-create his own ideal world. So in that ideal world he can feed all the necessary info to his younger self. And even arrange it so critical characters that affect Nick are introduced way before they really were to him. So I think the Simi that is introduced in this series isn't exactly the Simi we know from the regular books. I mean she is like a replica of herself in this world I think.And as far as I remember there are no Marks in the regular series. But clearly the more adult Nick is changing the more new characters could possibly be surfacing in this alternate reality that he has going on. Hence that is how Nekoda first showed up. Could be the same for Mark as well.
Still don't have that second book yet. So can't answer about any brothers thus far. But if ya think about the Ash we know from the regular books. He was steadfast about no males really knowing about Simi unless absolutely necessary. So I can't see how that aspect would change even in the past. Most especially as he bare knew Nick. So I doubt he would have let Simi free to roam around him like that for one. And for two, I do think Nekoda and others did discover Nick through the changes as well too. However present day Nick showed in the first book that although he set up the familiar key players in his "past", he had no control over people like Nekoda and likely whoever the Mark person is showing up. Heck even Caleb for that matter.
As for Nekoda showing up in the present remains to be seen though. She probably hadn't though cause of the fact that things were working out like how they were supposed to for Nick in his real past. But do to his changing things, it gave her and those others possibly an opportunity to slip into his past and change things too. But til we get a few more books in, I don't think we will know for sure though.
That is a good question Cassandra. I'm not sure it is the same Wynter or not. But never know if an alternate universe version of herself could have caught wind of the malachai. As I doubt "Ambrose" would have put in as a piece on his chess board as he doesn't appear to know about Thorn and his grew in either world. So we'll have to wait and see.
I actually can't think of Thorn's Wynter off hand right now. But they could be the same person. Just at different parts of the timeline so to speak with various knowledge beneficial of both worlds me thinks. But yea, never know. As some of the folks "Ambrose" is luring in aren't exactly folks Nick knows as a kid or an adult. So I'm mentally dubbing the extras moths to the flame so to speak with their own motives.
I'm almost done with Invincible and, while it raised many questions, there is one thing that I just don't get.There was a fight at the school, where Caleb fought the Fringe Hunter. At some point he hides Nick in a locker and after he wins the fight, he frees him.
Caleb scolds Nick because he unleashed his powers to help him and then he gets all angry, tells him that he's an abomination destined to destroy the world, that a prophecy is a prophecy and it cannot be changed.
Later in the book, we learn that that wasn't Caleb but the Fringer, who grabbed Caleb and tossed him away.
But when Nick asks when was the last time they really talked, Caleb answer "when I pulled out of the locker".
That doesn't make any sense, because that scene wasn't interrupted by anything. I mean, Caleb gets Nick out of the locker and they immediately start talking.
Now I'm going to proceed with the book, but I have the feeling this won't be further addressed, so my question stands: how did the Fringer manage to imprison Caleb and take his place, and Nick never noticed? Did they freeze time again? Did the Fringer make Nick forget it happened?
Misty, when I was reading Invincible I caught that too. It never is explained and I think that Sherri might have meant to say something else like Caleb instead responding, 'when did we last talked?' 'When I shoved you in the locker.'Maybe. Idk. It was never fully addressed or explained in the other books as well.
Ok, courtesy of my youngest daughter who decided I Should Not Sleep in the last couple of days I'm done with Invincible and almost done with Infamous, currently taking notes and there are so many of them!So... random thoughts about this book:
In Invincible we find out Nick has an older brother, who I guess is Madoc, the Dream Hunter, since Jared asked him if anybody knew he and the Malachai were related, in Dream Warrior.
The question is, how? And why Adarian didn't die when Madoc came of age? Why Madoc isn't the Malachai? Maybe because Madoc is a god? Maybe because Zeus cursed him?
Whoever sent Grim is not a friend, but another in the long raw of people wanting Nick to turn big, bad and red. That, or Ambrose sent him (he said he sent Nick a protector?) and Grim is disregarding orders and following his own agenda.
And his friend, Wynter, is the same that works for Thorn. More complications!
I laughed when Ambrose ordered Nick "you will NEVER touch Simi!" Yes Sir, never, ever, ever!
But I have a feeling this won't be an issue anymore... with the way things are going, I'm sure Nick will learn that Simi is Acheron's daughter before sleeping with her (if he ever sleeps with her).
Then Mark. Sweetie, who are you? Why do you have a necklace with Nick's emblem on it? Why do you lie about your age?
And I'm a bit worried about Acheron. When Savitar talked to Ambrose he said: Ask Acheron what happens when people tamper with the fates of others, even when all they were trying to do was protect them.… Oh, wait, I forgot. You can’t do that anymore, can you?
What did Ambrose do to Ash? :((((
I'm not sure what happened when Caleb brought Julianne back in her own time. First, I thought only Were-Hunters could travel through time, Second, isn't it against the rules? By bringing her back, Caleb is changing the past... ok, not a big portion of it, but he's still changing it.
Then we have Laguerre mysterious accomplish, who appears actually to be two different people: first she says that she has her person in place, someone who Nick trusts but is not what he think. And then "someone" at the end of the book says “Our corrupter is in place and is one the young Malachai now trusts.”
NOW trusts? As in, before he didn't trust this corrupter?
So, are there two people?
The first who comes in mind is Xenon, because I refuse to believe that either Nekoda or Caleb would willingly hurt Nick...
Speaking about Nekoda, I'm not sold about the relationship between her and Nick. Not sold at all. We'll see how it develops, but I'm sorry to say I don't like them a lot together... and I don't know how.
It's not that Kody is under orders to either convert Nick to good or kill him, because we already had our share of doomed relationships in every DH book. But those two together... I don't know, I see them more as friends and allies than as lovers :/
Now I go back to writing notes about Infamous, then I'll write something about that as well :D

Most of your questions will be answered in later books, Misty. Some of them, in fact, will be answered in Infamous. =)Yes, Madoc is Nick's brother. How can that happen, you ask? Because when it comes to the Malachai siring children, it turns out that many children can be sired, but only one can inherit the Malachai powers. Someone asked SK about this on her "ask the author" page, and she stated that most Malachai kill the majority of their offspring in fear of siring the one that will kill them.
What we don't know just yet, is how Madoc ended up NOT being the heir, but I suspect that it has a lot to do with him being an Oneroi. My personal opinion is that Zeus accidentally did the world a favor when he cursed the Oneroi, since the Malachai's powers are generally fed by anger and hatred.
We still don't quite know the circumstances surrounding Madoc's conception (though we have some educated guesses), but I'm pretty sure that will be answered in later books. =) (I could elaborate, but that would include spoilers from Infamous.)
The only other question I feel safe in answering, has to do with Caleb returning Julianne to her timeline. Basically, her impact on the timeline is so minor, that there isn't going to be a huge shake-up over it. It's when the timeline is changed in a HUGE way, that it becomes a problem.

How Madoc came about(When a very violent boy meets a girl, they insert part A into part B, maybe a few positions ensue, maybe a few power ups on his part and then girl is limping away to later discover she is preggars). But in this case it might have been Nyx, cause didn't is say in the Oneroi origins that their mother as the Goddess Nyx or was that just for the twins? Phobos and somebody else?
Madoc's mother, to best of my recollection, has never been mentioned by name.
Oh I know, but I think there was some earlier mythos in one of the dream-hunter books that had mentioned something with Nyx. Or I've jumbled that up with somebody else.
Hmmm ... don't remember a Nyx, maybe it was Myst? I'll have to double check. =)

Hi 5 then Myst. I must be thinking of Nyx of the Mythos series that I read from another author. Thanks for the clarifications. Although I still go with my scenario of violent boy meets Goddess and part A meets part B.
Well I haven't re-read CoN yet...I could be missing a pile of characters there. Or we might just not have been told goddess so and so is M'Adoc's mom.If you *really* want the list of characters that are (greek) goddesses, I do have a fairly comprehensive list...I double checked it and the timeline info for references to nyx, myst, m'adoc etc.
Time to dance for joy...my library (finally) has paper copies (not e-audio only) of the CoN books! I can finally do the re-read with minimal hassle!
Oh it's nothing pressing. I'm theorizing on his mom with the Goddess part of things.Woot on paper back copies! Gives more impact to things. I feel audio you can lose so much stuff.
I've never done audio, but I think it would drive me bonkers.
