Sarah | 13814 comments And if so, what kind?

I have a big jar of dentist approved dental gum, which tends to dissolve after about five minutes.
I usually keep a pack of Trident avec dentec (I tend to pick them up in Canada) in my car for breath emergencies - fruity flavors preferred over mint or cinnamon.

Yes - that too! That's why all my gum is Canadian.

Jim | 6484 comments I'm with Phil, I just chew gum when flying.

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments gum makes me sick sorta with all that juice sliding down in my gut. i chew gum occasionally if i am going to be around people to help my breath after coffee :)

janine | 7709 comments i don't chew gum unless someone offers me a piece in the right flavor. chewing gum makes me extremely hungry.

message 7: by Sashana (new)

Sashana I chew gum, but not all the time. My favorite is anything by Trident.

Sashana Thanks, Jim.

Ha ha ha! You caught me!

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments I chew nothing but Trident, during plane flights and sometimes after coffee and other breath emergencies.

I like the Minty Twist and the bubblegum flavors the best. I used to like cinnamon, but I think they changed it.

message 14: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I hate when I step in gum.

message 15: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments I do when I think my breath is all stinky. I swallow it, too.

message 16: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments so you got the big 3# wad of bubble yum in your gut (complete with spider eggs) ?

message 17: by Jan (new)

Jan | 241 comments I do occasionally. I find it helps to ease stress.

message 18: by Auntie (new)

Auntie Raye-Raye (fabulousraye) I love gum. It helps keep my mouth wet. It's also good to chew after meals, cleans the teeth.

Currently, I like the Extra Dessert Delights. The key lime pie flavour is delicious.

message 19: by Michele (new)

Michele bookloverforever (lovebooks14) | 1970 comments when you wear uppers (false teeth) you lose half your taste buds so what's the point of chewing?

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

No. It makes me thirsty.

They keep advertising those during Top Chef Desserts. I'd like to try them.

message 22: by Erika (new)

Erika | 7 comments The key lime is really good but doesn't have a lot of staying power.

Jan | 241 comments I just bought the Mint Chocolate Chip, though I haven't tried it yet.

I chew one piece of Chiclets peppermint gum every day. I have it with my strong morning coffee. I don't like any other brand.

That sounds grotesque.

message 26: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments I like that flavor combination, but I think it might be weird to taste something that feels like it should be dirtying your teeth, when it is in fact cleaning them.

message 27: by Michele (new)

Michele bookloverforever (lovebooks14) | 1970 comments ask your dentist about gum. mine told me I might as well rub sugar all over my teeth and gums.

message 28: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments Mine is good for my teeth.

message 29: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments No, the taste is fine, but it dissolves in about five minutes in a kind of disturbing way.

message 30: by Sarah (new)

Sarah | 13814 comments I think it would, given a few more minutes, but it just kinda gets...weird...so I have to spit it out after five minutes. The five minutes are good.

Jammies I don't chew gum, but I have a ridiculous Altoids addiction.

I enjoy Altoids. Which flavour are you most addicted to?

message 34: by Jammies (new)

Jammies Peppermint. I blush to think of how many of these things I chomp each day. What's your favorite?

message 35: by Auntie (new)

Auntie Raye-Raye (fabulousraye) I think peppermint also is my favorite. The creme de mente was really good.

message 36: by Jim (new)

Jim | 6484 comments I like the cinnamon Altoids, put I do have peppermint ones also.

message 37: by Phoenix (new)

Phoenix (phoenixapb) | 1619 comments Altoids burn so goood! I like the cinnamon ones best too.

I ate the chocolate covered altoids for a couple weeks.

message 39: by Jammies (new)

Jammies I like the cinnamon when they're covered with dark chocolate. I still haven't managed to get my paws on the ginger Altoids, but one of these days...

message 41: by Phil (new)

Phil | 11837 comments Altoids are horrible for those around the person using them.

When I still worked, there were many times co-workers would chew a few Altoids to cover up the cigarette stench on their breath. It didn't work. They just smelled like a nasty, overly-minty cancer stick.

message 42: by Aynge (last edited Jan 10, 2011 02:39PM) (new)

Aynge (ayngemac) | 1202 comments I like gum. I used to chew it. For a while I was addicted to Dentyne Fire, and I got all my friends addicted to it too. Then I realized that the blister on my inner cheek was caused by the gum and I had to give it up. Same thing happened to my friends: evil cheek blister.

I walk by it in the store and always sigh with regret. I still miss it.

I also gave up gum because whenever I saw someone else chewing it, it grossed me out completely. If everybody else looks like a cow working on a ball of cud, I must look like that too.

Cinnamon gum is the worst thing to chew for those with bad breath. It only amplifies it.

I don't like peppermint gum, but quite enjoy spearmint. In fact, I only like peppermint in tea, cocoa and ice cream.

message 44: by Natalie (new)

Natalie (aquariusnat) Never liked it . Always grosses me out to see it . Plus the concept of just chewing then spitting out and not eating a "food" sounds stupid .
