Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9327 comments I finished Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs (Jane Jameson, #1) by Molly Harper yesterday. I thought it was an okay read. Some funny moments and likeable characters, but I was expecting a little bit more. 3 stars.

I had the same problem with this book.

message 553: by Ren Puspita (new)

Ren Puspita (renpuspita) I'd finished Archangel's Storm (Guild Hunter, #5) by Nalini Singh , the romance part is slower than usual, but I love how Nalini write the story. Some might be think her plot is slow and boring, but I think her writing style is so beautiful. 5 stars from me.

message 554: by Yvonne (new)

Yvonne (selana) Finished The Rook by Daniel O'Malley and gave it 4 stars. A very nice fantasy book with a few unique ideas - at least I haven't seen them before, but of course they might be in one of the gazillion books I haven't read. Very nice read if you are into fantasy and/or mystery stories

I read The Host by Stephenie Meyer and it was amazing! I'm utterly shocked how good this book was!! I loathed the Twilight books, but this book was so completely awesome compared to those. I was really skeptical but once I got through the first 25% of the book I fell in love with it. I really hope she writes more Host books and I'm DEFINATELY looking forward to seeing the movie when it comes out!

The Host (The Host, #1) by Stephenie Meyer

I really like this one too. And no one ever believes me when I tell then it's not teeny bopper and that they should give it a chance!

message 558: by Ty (new)

Ty | 1943 comments finished Nice Girls Don't Date Dead Men (Jane Jameson, #2) by Molly Harper on 11/3. ★★★
was extremely ho-hum at first, well, really, throughout most of the book. So not happy with Jane's limp attitude towards her extremely neglectful boyfriend, so not sure I will continue the series - plus, I'd just finish reading Fourth Grave Beneath My Feet so the humor wasn't doing for me so well.

message 559: by Randi (new)

Randi | 119 comments Fallen (Fallen, #1) by Lauren Kate ★★★★ completed 11/10

I was glad for a chance to read this because I have the 2nd book waiting for me to get this one to read. Now I can proceed to the next one. I like the story but I kinda feel that it's missing something so I'm hoping to find the answers to my questions in the next book from this one, not the next few books ha!

Carrie (icanhasbooks) | 987 comments The Host (The Host, #1) by Stephenie Meyer 4 stars (Nov 15th)

I was sooo wary going into this book. I didn't enjoy Meyers' Twilight series, other then the first book. So I was pleasantly surprised as I read this

Blameless - ★★★★ - 25 Nov 12 (instead of Soulless)

I was surprised how quickly I read this. I think I enjoyed it more than the previous books. There were some very funny moments. I liked how much time we spent seeing things from Lyall's perspective and it was good to see Ivy doing more than just wearing awful hats.

This was a prequel to the series which basically introduced the main female character in the series even though she wasn't the main one in this story. It was developed enough for me to be interested in continuing the story.

This book has 4 stories which showed a little more of the background of supporting characters in the book. I definitely enjoyed peeking into their past/present lives.

message 583: by Makenzie (new)

Makenzie (makenziefay) | 496 comments Finished City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments, #1) by Cassandra Clare (in place of City of Fallen Angels (The Mortal Instruments, #4) by Cassandra Clare ) today! It was better than I'd originally expected. The plot is interesting, with a few interesting twists (though I'd guessed most of them), and the writing was decent enough. She at least left me intrigued about what is going to happen in the next book, which is good, considering I'm planning on reading most of the series this year. :)

3 stars! ***

Christina (AKA Babbling) (babblingbookreviews) | 196 comments Ashes of Midnight (Midnight Breed, #6) by Lara Adrian

Ashes of Midnight - ★★★★ - 21 Jan 13 (instead of Midnight Rising)

Wasn't fond of Claire, but I did like the fact that she and two other Breedmates went out on a recon mission without the men and their talents were put to use. I was glad to see that Renata, Niko's mate, goes on patrols with the warriors -- between her talent and previous training she's more than capable.

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) Read: The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie (Highland Pleasures, #1) by Jennifer Ashley by Jennifer Ashley ★★★★ 30.01.2012.
I liked this book. It was fresh and original not cliched historical romance. I recommend it to romance lovers who read & loved When Beauty Tamed the Beast - it has similar tortured hero theme & strong independent heroine.

message 600: by Unidragonfrag (new)

Unidragonfrag I've already read The Sweet Far Thing (Gemma Doyle, #3) by Libba Bray . It's awesome, so you know. If I can find it, I'll try reading The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie (Highland Pleasures, #1) by Jennifer Ashley .. everything else wasn't the first book in the series or I just wasn't interested. If I can fit it into some February challenge, I'll probably get it read.
