Leave those, Eva -- they can be merged into the actual editions when the ISBN is available, but in the meantime a lot of people like to put upcoming books on their to-read shelves as a reminder.

Thanks Cait- the missing ISBN through me for a loop. I add not released books too but I've always seen the ISBN attached until now. Thanks for the quick answer!

And it's a good (and non-intrusive) way for authors to let readers know they have a new book coming out.

Same thing with this book:

How did you fix it?

Lisa wrote Jenna, Ok, I got it. Thank you! (And it really does exist, I had the book in hand, when i made the mess!)
Are there hidden reviews/ratings or something for this book? To me, it says there are 0 ratings and 0 reviews. It's a bogus manual entry--nothing but the title of a supposed book. No author, publisher, ISBNs, etc. I'd combine it, but I'm not sure about what book the person intended to add. (And I can't ask her - her profile is set to private.)But I can't delete it for some reason?
I think because someone had rated it and it wasn't combined with anything, it can't be deleted by a regular user.Anyway, I combined it with the most likely book (this one) and then deleted it.

I just told them to disregard the request but that I had something to tell them. It worked. :)
Then why did it tell me it had 0 ratings?I saw something yesterday that had -1 ratings. I meant to ask about it, then got distracted.

Those usually happen when books have recently been merged or separated. The reset stats link fixes them.

http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/22...Can someone please delete that? It's very obvious that everyone was looking for the book, not a dramatic adapatation. I'll add it back in to the system with huge messages about being a play or something after it's deleted. Thanks!
Thanks, rivka. I added it back in with bold type that "this is not the book by John Irving" with a link to the book. It might work for a few people. :-)

That, plus the fact that I made sure Irving was listed second, so it can't be combined with the book.

I should have known not to post those until I got to Garp. 3 more.http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/41...

As far as I can tell, this is really a magazine article he translated, but I can't delete it.
rivka wrote: "That, plus the fact that I made sure Irving was listed second, so it can't be combined with the book."I had changed that so it could be combined and deleted. I can't even remember if Irving was on there in the first place.
This book is a duplicate, without ISBNs. It has been combined with the other 14 copies of that book, but I can't delete it.

Cyn, (or anyone else!) how do you put a link somewhere with your words forming the link? I know how to copy and paste the browser address but then it's that long line. Can someone tell me how to do that? :)
Thanks rivka, I didn't know that was included with the tips there. I always see people doing that on this site and couldn't figure it out! Thanks!
Whoa- you're talking a whole other language to me now! LOL The only thing I understood out of the sentence was 'you can also use'....! I don't have Firefox (I don't think- I guess I'd know if I did!) so it doesn't matter.
I'll just have to do it the old fashioned way. Thanks rivka! :)
Here comes another book that a super-librarian needs to delete :)http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/64...
(I just noticed all the new fields for the books btw. Wow, yay!)
Unfortunately a new user has manually added in (at last count) 70 books, all of which were already in the database (I've e-mailed her to try and explain how to find books). I'm trying to clean them up by combining them with the existing titles, to maintain her review score, and then deleting the version she created (no ISBNs or cover art). However, she input reviews on the following titles and I can't delete them:http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6483559
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6483369
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6481773
Needs a super to delete please:http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/63...
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/62...
Another one, I don't know if it should be deleted or not, but it's user added and has almost no info on it:http://www.goodreads.com/book/edit/23...
