I started and finished yesterday. Stayed up late to finish it.

It has been a while since I read a satisfying PNR book and truly enjoyed this one. I thought the characters were quite sensible. The hero was hot, the heroine feisty...and though they have challenges in their relationship...i'm so pleased to meet characters who don't do stupid stuff....5 stars

Random Book List Challenge #262

I finished reading My Life as a White Trash Zombie by Diana Rowland and loved it! It was really funny, but I love the main character. She's so flawed and those types of characters are so interesting. Reminds me of Unholy Ghosts which is really good too.

Finished on the 4th. 3.5 stars
I'm a big LK fan and was over the moon when I hear there is another historical romance by her. My expectations were very high. 'Cold-Hearted Rake' was nice, but I have read better novel by her. Still there is a promise of a good romance series. The side characters were more quirky and intriguing than main couple and I can't wait for their stories.

It gets better after about 20-30% when Devon's brother and cousins get bigger roles in the story.

So it's not just me. I loved everyone except the main couple, I think it was my biggest problem.

Something about this story didn't fit her normal style. Even a bad main lead character like in was still interesting and engaging.
Devon was (view spoiler)[ just an ass from the beginning and was never really redeemed for me. He lacked chemistry with Kathleen too. (hide spoiler)]

I felt the same way. It felt like someone tried to copy/merge her 'Devil in Winter' and The Hathaways with mediocre success.

I read today, Nov. 17th. For a short story it packed a lot of emotion. I really enjoyed this little freebie. I was rooting for Stephen and Amelia from the first page. 4*
