Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9327 comments I want to read Incandescent (Knights Rebels MC, #1) by River Savage but I can't get a copy so I'm going to read Affliction (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter #22) by Laurell K. Hamilton and Maybe Someday (Maybe, #1) by Colleen Hoover .

message 805: by Melissa (new)

Melissa | 1245 comments I want to read The Look of Love by Sarah Jio but can't get my hands on it without buying it and my book budget is at $0 due to the holidays ;)

So...I will read Narcissus in Chains (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #10) by Laurell K. Hamilton for Jason (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter, #23) by Laurell K. Hamilton

message 806: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 7316 comments going to try Incandescent - since it fits another challenge

message 807: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 7316 comments finished up Incandescent - it was ok, but (as weird as it is for me to say this) - too much smexy, not enough story - 2.5 stars, rounding up to 3 for me

message 808: by Sassafrass (new)

Sassafrass (sass-a-frass) | 4192 comments I finished Hard to Come By (Hard Ink, #3) by Laura Kaye on 1/10/15 and I thought it was a great addition to the series. I gave it *4 STARS*, and I can't wait to see what's going to happen next with Beckitt Murdaugh.

message 809: by Fran, Moderator (last edited Jan 12, 2015 12:22PM) (new)

Fran | 12278 comments I'm going to read Reasonable Doubt: Volume 1 Reasonable Doubt Volume 1 (Reasonable Doubt, #1) by Whitney Gracia Williams for this list. Reasonable Doubt Full Series (Reasonable Doubt, #1-3) by Whitney Gracia Williams , with all 3 parts, just went on sale at Amazon for .99.

message 810: by Fran, Moderator (new)

Fran | 12278 comments I finished Reasonable Doubt: Volume 1 Reasonable Doubt Volume 1 (Reasonable Doubt, #1) by Whitney Gracia Williams 1/13. This was an entertaining novella, I did like it, but I kept having the feeling that I've read something so similar before. Nothing unique or new here, but it held my interest.

message 811: by Angela (Reading Frenzy Book Blog) (last edited Jan 16, 2015 11:04PM) (new)

Angela (Reading Frenzy Book Blog) (asullivn) I already read Sweet Addiction (Sweet Addiction, #1) by J. Daniels . Such a fun book. The 2nd book is great also. J. Daniels is releasing Sweet Obsession later this year featuring another character from this series.

Anyway... I read Reasonable Doubt Volume 1 (Reasonable Doubt, #1) by Whitney Gracia Williams Reasonable Doubt Volume 2 (Reasonable Doubt, #2) by Whitney Gracia Williams Reasonable Doubt Volume 3 (Reasonable Doubt, #3) by Whitney Gracia Williams since Amazon has all 3 books on sale for 99 cents. :) I thought it was surprisingly addictive and laugh-out-loud funny. The love scenes were scorching hot!

message 812: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne (esmerelda1) | 2244 comments I finished reading Hit List (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter #20) by Laurell K. Hamilton and surprisingly gave it 4 stars. I have not liked this series in a very long time but this book wasn't half bad. It was more action and mystery and the succubus thing was not drawn out and over killed as it has been in the past. I might try the next one...maybe...

message 813: by Fran, Moderator (new)

Fran | 12278 comments I finished Reasonable Doubt: Volume 2 and Reasonable Doubt: Volume 3 as well as Reasonable Doubt: Volume 1. I agree with Angela, it ended up being fun and sexy.

message 814: by Dani (new)

Dani (yogidani) | 56 comments I finished Maybe Someday (Maybe, #1) by Colleen Hoover in place of Maybe Not (Maybe, #1.5) by Colleen Hoover . I'm not a huge fan of the first person narrative and changing POVs. It made the writing seem a bit juvenile like I read it on some fanfiction site, but it was a decent book with an okay story line. The male MC being deaf was also a nice change from the norm.

message 815: by Yz the Whyz, Moderator (new)

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9327 comments Read Affliction (Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter #22) by Laurell K. Hamilton last Christmas. Not as good as the earlier books, but it was enough to keep my attention. 4 stars.

Also read Maybe Someday (Maybe, #1) by Colleen Hoover last Dec. 28. Beautiful prose, lots of intense emotions. 4 stars.

message 816: by Melissa (last edited Jan 25, 2015 07:43AM) (new)

Melissa | 1245 comments Still reading Narcissus in Chains. I was sick this week and it was easier to read other things on the kindle than this chunky paperback ;)

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9327 comments I think I'm going to read Opal (Lux, #3) by Jennifer L. Armentrout for Origin (Lux, #4) by Jennifer L. Armentrout and I'm still deciding whether I should read Raze by Tillie Cole or Eyes Turned Skyward by Rebecca Yarros .

message 821: by Melissa (last edited Jan 31, 2015 08:33AM) (new)

Melissa | 1245 comments Just finished Obsidian (Lux, #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout . Not sure how I feel about it. I'm waffling between 2 stars and 3 stars. It was a fast read, but I just didn't connect to the characters at all. I found myself rolling my eyes at the dialogue and just didn't really enjoy the story much. I guess that lands it in the 2 star rating of "it was okay."

I'm also left wondering if I would have enjoyed this more if I hadn't read it after just finishing The Law of Moses. Obisidian was a "rebound" read after a 5 star book and it had a hard act to follow!

message 822: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne (esmerelda1) | 2244 comments I finished reading Opal (Lux, #3) by Jennifer L. Armentrout and really liked it. This series is getting better and better with every book. Five stars!

I also finished Raze by Tillie Cole last Feb. 10. First time reading this author and definitely it will not be the last. 5 stars

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) Finished Bird Box by Josh Malerman on 12th March
4 stars
A study of psychology of human nature in post-apocalyptic environment. had much more literal flare than my usual books. But I liked it. And it was a page-turner full of tension.
Reminded me of mix of Gerald's Game and Never Let Me Go.

message 832: by Ty (new)

Ty | 1943 comments finished Divide & Conquer (Cut & Run, #4) by Abigail Roux for Sticks & Stones (Cut & Run, #2) by Abigail Roux . 4*

I read the last one Crash & Burn (Cut & Run, #9) by Abigail Roux . I can't believe she ended this ride.
I will do a re-read of these series as I loved them. I am sad, I will go drink some wine and reminisce

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9327 comments I read Sweet Dreams (Colorado Mountain, #2) by Kristen Ashley for this list. Finished it last March 24 and gave it 4 stars. I thought it was a bit too long with too many superfluous parts but, despite its faults, it was able to keep my attention.

Ty | 1943 comments sigh. this list...

Is there any way we can revamp the rules to let all books in a series count even without reading the actual listed book? We had 3 for Ty & Zane.

message 838: by Yz the Whyz, Moderator (last edited Apr 06, 2015 07:07AM) (new)

Yz the Whyz (whyz) | 9327 comments Yeah...this is a hard list for me...since suspense and horror are not really my thing.

Hmm... I might have to go with either Warm Bodies (Warm Bodies, #1) by Isaac Marion or The Maze Runner (Maze Runner, #1) by James Dashner because I've seen the movie versions and I've enjoyed them.

message 839: by Dragana (last edited Apr 06, 2015 07:09AM) (new)

Dragana (diaryofthebookdragon) I read 'Warm Bodies' and I can tell you if you ignore a bit of gruesome descriptions of brain-eating it's just a post-apocalyptic romance story. Actually it's a retelling of Romeo and Juliet where R(omeo) is a zombie.

I might read something from 'The Maze Runner' series if I manage to catch up with other lists...

The snacking on brain (like a piece of granola in one's pocket) grossed me out in a way I cannot explain!

Awwww poor Ezi. I don't know I found it weirdly realistic (for a zombie pov). But then I am hard to gross out... Unless there are bugs. Or spiders. :)

see bugs and spiders don't gross me out. But the description of his eating the brain (on audio) was more than I could handle.

ilovebakedgoods (Teresa) (ilovebakedgoods) | 86 comments Were there any crunching or smooshy eating sounds to accompany the description?? Ew!

I think my mistake was LISTENING to it. Well, no, I don't like zombies although I did like the Razorland series by Ann Aguirre Enclave (Razorland, #1) by Ann Aguirre Outpost (Razorland, #2) by Ann Aguirre Horde (Razorland, #3) by Ann Aguirre

message 847: by Ty (new)

Ty | 1943 comments I do love zombie books, but I had to stop the White Trash Zombie Apocalypse (White Trash Zombie, #3) by Diana Rowland series at the first book because of all the extremely detailed brain eating escapades...

message 848: by Kim (new)

Kim | 295 comments I am going to read The Bone Season in place of The Mime Order.

Vi | 2794 comments The only zombie series I've read and loved is this series by Mira Grant starting with Feed (Newsflesh Trilogy, #1) by Mira Grant and only because they are the setting and not the Main Character.

Like Kim, I'm also going to be reading The Bone Season (The Bone Season, #1) by Samantha Shannon

I'm not a fan of zombies either but I did enjoy Rachel Caine's Revivalist series. Very original.
