I've wondered about this.

Leslie (lesslie) Battleship Galactica! I am still in mourning.

Michele bookloverforever (lovebooks14) | 1970 comments Hootenannies and coffee houses sponsoring folk/folk-rock singers ...I miss the folk singers of the 60's & early 70's and the 50's. Just got finished to the PBS retrospective about folk singers...loved it. It brought people together. It birthed many a social conscience...and at least laid the ground floor for mine.

I'll vote for that one too.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I miss Christmas lights. Most main streets used to have them, as did major places of business. Heck, 15 years ago most neighborhoods had lots of lights.

Last year it was downright depressing. The only place in town that had lights up was our old downtown historical section.

Jim | 6484 comments Most of our neighborhood has lights Stacia, and they still put up lighted ornaments on our main street.

Michele bookloverforever (lovebooks14) | 1970 comments Stacia: most of our neighbors have either cut way down on their outdoor lights or stopped entirely. We do not usually put up outdoor lights: no one physically able to string them. We settle for a door wreathe and very small tree in living room and a few decorations placed in the living room. If there were children in the house it would be different.

Hey the Japanese are reviving the mammoth. I hope they will choose to resurrect the Tasmanian tiger next.

Does that mean the mammoths are only going to be in Japan? Or will they be roaming the prairies here in the U.S.? Will they be angry or peaceful? I need to know.

message 112: by [deleted user] (new)

The mammoth in Ice Age was really nice. I'm sure that's what they're aiming for.

Political incorrectness.

Janice (jamasc) It's the sequel to Godzilla. They'll call it Godzilla's Big Brother.

These are still everywhere, Michele. You just have to know where to look. Here's a list of Maine folk stuff: http://downeastmusic.org/other-venues/
