Michelle Gilmore So far, I've only read the first 3 books in this series. I really like Nalini Singh's style of writing, and think the series is a good mix of pnr (shifter galore!), and sci-fi (plenty of psychic and futuristic stuff going on!). As this series is quickly becoming one of my favorites, I'd love to know what others in the group are thinking.

new_user | 755 comments I love her series! It's not full-blown scifi, but I really love the way her PsyNet echoes the internet, with every Psy represented visually as a star in a field. It was very interesting to read about the Psy's tendency towards mental illness and their response to that: aversive therapy to eliminate emotion. It's Vulcans in romance!

Her series is a really great hybrid of paranormal and scifi romance, as the title implies: Psy-Changeling. :D Pretty creative!

Michelle Gilmore Well, I just got back from the bookstore, and now own Play of Passion (Psy-Changeling, #9) by Nalini Singh . I think I have 5 or 6 books to go until I get to that one, but I couldn't help myself!

new_user | 755 comments LOL, Michelle! Another thing that I really love is her multicultural characters! And I love the overarching plot. Who's your favorite so far?

Sparkle (sparkle00) | 13 comments I LOVE Judd Lauren and the third book.

Well, right now I'm torn between Judd and Lucas as my fav's. I have to read the next one in the series, which I hope to start tomorrow. I believe I saw that Hawke's book will be out in July, and I can't wait!

Michelle Gilmore I really like the use of multicultural characters too. I really looooooooooooove the world that Nalini Singh has created. I mean, who thinks to create a "psy-net"?!

new_user | 755 comments I would never have thought to imagine a "psy-net". It's great!

Oh, Hawke is even better in the later books! I'm really enjoying learning more about the world and characters with each book. Always a nice surprise!

Rachel-RN (rachelgoodbyeborders) | 4 comments I own all the books currently out, but have only read the first 4. Starting Hostage to Pleasure in a few days. My favorite is Caressed By Ice and least favorite is Mine to Possess.

new_user | 755 comments I think my favorite is Dev from Blaze of Memory.

Btw, for anyone curious, the first book in this series is Slave to Sensation.

Jacqueline J | 154 comments I love this series also. I've read all of them and I tend to prefer the ones centered on the shifters. Cuz I'm a shifter lover at heart.;-)

I will say though that I do not like the idea that the psy net is itself sentient. That is just too too far fetched for me. How can an ethereal space that is made up of the thought of all the psy have its own consciousness?

message 13: by new_user (new)

new_user | 755 comments It is a little far-fetched. If it had been pure scifi, I think would have been saying, "huh?" I rolled with it though.

I love shifters, but I love the Psy men. <3 Love a man who can use his mind. ;)
