It took me almost an entire year to get caught up on Sherrilyn's Dark Hunter series so I could be ready for Styxx. She is by far my favorite PNR Author. I think Styxx story will be interesting to see how he's going to reconcile his past, present and future.
Have you read the Immortals of New Oleans series by Kym Grosso? It's not IR but they're great Paranormal romance!

Dealing with themes that focus on the existential human questions of the meaning of this Life, religion and man's relationship with his fellow man, my works of fiction, fantasy, sci-fi take readers on compelling, fast-paced journeys into highly visual new worlds not that far into our future, filled with unique characters, exotic settings, lots of intrigue, complex twists and surprise endings, all while conveying a message of hope, possibility and faith in the triumph of Good over Evil.
Drawing upon my extensive interest in ancient cosmologies, magick, esoteric grimoires, Gnosticism, Kabbalah and early civilizations, I weave highly nuanced and deeply symbolic tales where, for the curious minded reader, carefully hidden clues lead to unexpected insights into my stories and their settings. Though my narratives stand alone, when read in conjunction with my previous works a unique, original world view comes into focus where people of color are at the center of the action in highly unusual and innovative ways.Wm KaneWm Kane

Just brought the book and I will be reading it this weekend.
The thing that bothers me with Amer. Historical books is the romanticizing of the master/slave girl, It's one hang-up that I just can't get past. It just seems that authors seem to focus on that aspect more than others of that time period, a union spy, a frontier woman, etc.
