Random Book List #341 (ends June 25)
I'm finally going to be forced to read
. I've had it forever and though I absolutely love this series, keep stalling.
My imaginary boyfriend, James Marsters, is just about finished reading Book 5 of the Dresden series to me so I'll just glom right on to book 6: Blood Rites
and yet my library has a sign on the door that says, as a reminder, if your children are still here when we close, they will be taken to the local police department, so make sure you knwo our hours...
Wow Dee are you kidding? That is like saying if you don't watch your kids they will be eaten by the library trolls. Ha!
nope...its on the front door as you walk into the library...there is also a cop stationed there from about 4pm until close
realized I needed a poetry book for another challenge so I picked up A Light In the Attic - its been a few years (ok, a long time) since i've read Silverstein, but the poems were cute and funny...I can't believe this book has actually shown up on several banned book lists (I guess the poem about breaking dishes encourages children to rebel against their parents)
note to self - take a picture of the sign at the library about the police station...its too funny not to - I guess there are worse places you can drop your kids off at right?

Probably the library treated all those children to Kool-Aide and chocolate too so that by 5 pm - EEEK!

I thought there was a rule of no food or drinks in the library?!
I finished A Light in the Attic today. My daughter and I read a lot of it together - she loves funny books and poetry so she really got a kick out of this one. Especially the poem about the babysitter that took her job too literally and sat on the baby.
We had a coffee shop at our library. Often, I would take the kids in for a treat after looking at books. Sadly, the shop closed due to slow business. My daughter (6) asked me if the shop closed because we didn't go there enough!
Jane (PS) wrote: "Wow - How lovely! Wish that was my local library - you wouldn't get rid of me!"Ah, but then your children would have to pick you up at the police station. No. Wait. That's wrong ... LOL.
LOL - it would have to be my dog!...Maybe it isn't a totally bad place to hang out - there would have to be some interesting things happening there, wouldn't there? - plus I could play with the other library kids!
I finished Reading Between the Lines by Lauren Dane and I gave it ★★★.It was OK. I thought there was too many characters for such a short book, but I loved the "I want revenge against the psycho fae witch who cursed my mate because she couldn't have him" plot.
Fran wrote: "Yz, don't forget about me! I am kind of getting a complex. I finished A Light in The Attic on 2/17."Sorry. I missed the first post. Got distracted with all the talk about the library's children section. :)
Thanks for the heads-up.
I finished Summer Knight (2/26****) and I loved it!!! This series keeps getting better and better for me and I can't wait to get to the next one!
I'm in, a little bit late with the post, i didn't know which book i'll be able to get at the library. (: I'll be reading The Shack. (:
Finished Lover Avenged today. It was good but not great. 3 stars. I feel a bit disconnected from this series now... But I'll read Lover Mine sometime soon 'cos I have it waiting...
I read A Caress of Twilight. I liked it better then the first book, but I didn't love it. Maybe I'll check out the next one.
Finished The Dark Highlander, 03/13, 3 stars, liked it but it didn't hold my interest. The hero was yummy, but the heroine was in denial for much of the book and it got frustrating, then they suddenly got all gooey in love. I wasn't in the mood for the love at first sight, mated forever lovestory, I guess I wanted something that felt more real. Her Fever series is heaps better.
I switched my book because I'm not going to finish the audio of Blood Rites in time. So I read Reading Between the Lines by Lauren Dane. I finished it this morning, March 14. I gave it 3*s. It was good and reminded me that I like Lauren Dane's writing but the ending felt rushed which took away a little bit for me.
It one hour to midnight and yaaaay for me, I was able to finish The Shack (it's 3/15). I gave it 3*. It is a good book and I was thinking of even giving it 4, but from time to time the story just drops, it gets repetative. Otherwise a good theme, idea, writing is fluent and the author has a humour that's close to me. (: Worth reading for sure.
Just in the nick of time, 11:45 pm to be exact. I finally finished
and what a fabulous book. It was heartbreaking and romantic at the same time. I never know why I wait so long to read another Brother book.

Amanda wrote: "I'll tackle Naked in Death by J.D. Robb. It's about time I try this series out!"Oh...you'll have fun. Roarke is just yummy. :)
I'm going to re-read Naked in Death. I think I have the audiobook of it. I like to listen to a book after I have read it to see what the narrator does with it. This is a great series I love it.
I finished The Renegade Hunter (Rogue Hunter, #3) on 3/22/11. I love the Argeneau series when I need a break from angstier reads and this one was no different.
Finished Naked in Death tonight. Looooved it! And you're definitely right, Yz, Roarke is yummy. I look forward to seeing him throughout the rest of the series.

...I know that my niece has been spied on at the beach (where she is a life-saver). Other lifeguards went to check him out but the bloke ran.
