Good catch, Ty. You are right. It should be Jan. 8.
Just read
today! Reeeeeal quick and easy read!Short and sweet, Double Dare was a cute and pleasant free ebook that I had downloaded for my Kindle. Ignoring some of the minor spelling and grammatical errors, the story was fun and a nice bit of fluff to ease my day. It has me really wanting to go climb a mountain or something. I wish I had Sam's job!
3 stars!(★★★)

I'm copying it to the right thread, Bre.
*Thanks for the heads up, Ty.
man, I feel like such a goody two shoes. *goes hides under the covers for a while (with an e-reader, of course)*
I tried reading Fracture, but I stopped after about 1/3 of the book. I just couldn't get into the story.
finished
today. 2 stars. For such a short book, I just didn't feel engaged with the characters at all. Possibly because I'm strung out on contemporaries, as I normally jump genres from one book to the next....

****This novella has funny scenes for this heiress who ran away from her wedding to seek out adventures which happened to be guided by this hot guide. She has a list where she want to experience - smoke her first cigarette, flip a finger at cops, etc. She was sheltered over protectively by her father It was funny though predictable. It made me smile.
Random Book List #111I read
for this week. This was a really cute read! I've really been enjoying Sophie Kinsella books lately, the plots are never what you think they're going to be. In this novel, there was a tie in to Twenties Girl that I finished last month :) I rated it 5 stars!

I am going to try Heart On A Chain. I have never heard of it, but it looks like it has good reviews.
This book is a freebie on Amazon right now:

I have a hard time deciding Love in Bloom or Yellow Crocus as I have both, but I think I'll go with Love in bloom since it's been on my TBR for over a year now whereas the other one has been only on it for a couple months.
Love in bloom it is!
I finished Heart On A Chain. It started out really good, but I kind of lost interest around 2/3rds in. I did finish it though and rated it 3 stars.
finished
1/31.one measly ★
unmitigated torture. I could not bear it... and kissed the ground when I finished.
Oh god, Ty. I'm reading the same book. I'm kicking myself why I chose this book. I'm trying to finish it. It's awful.

I have it on my TBR, but lately I've been seeing a lot of mixed reviews....and almost everyone says it's way too long.
After it has popped up several times I finally read Shattered Glass - in one setting last night because my insomnia struck again. 4 stars because it had me laugh out loud and feel for the main characters and was a fun way to spend a sleepless night. The end left me a bit puzzled until I looked on goodreads this morning and realized that it was a series and the last bits were a setup for the next book.
Finished Love in bloom yesterday (★★★). Wasn't a bad little book, with fairly believable characters that grow (and fall in love) as they sort through their problems. You could tell this was an early book (originally published 1993), as some of the language felt clunky (especially at the beginning). I also thought everything tied up too neatly - I'm all for tying up loose plot points, but there's also going too far, especially as the author seems to strive for creating characters who are as "human" as possible. It just kind of fell flat for me (could be, I wasn't in the mood...)
With less than 100 pages left, I finally gave up on
. I can't stand anymore the torture. Unfortunately, that means I do not finish a book for this list. Bummer.
Random Book List #116I read Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs.
This book was ok. I wish I had not listend to it on audio because I missed out on all the photos that are laced throughout the book, but I ordered it from ebay to go back and look at them. The story kind of petered out for me half way through and I had to soldier through to the last quarter. Then it picked back up again. Still, it was a very good book!
Finished
on 2/9 and I really liked it! I liked how Julie broke out of her shell but still had that innocent feel about her and how I loved Gabriel despite all his flaws! I can't wait to read the next one!
Random Book List #121Duration: February 19 - March 19, 2013
Based on
Gabriel's Inferno by Sylvain Reynard and
Shattered Glass by Dani Alexander, here is our new list:
All Over You by Emily Snow (3)Dragana - 2/24 ***1/2
Dragana - Devoured 2/25 **1/2
Elizabeth - 2/28 **1/2
Randi - 3/4 ****
Painted Faces by L.H. Cosway (1)Fran - 3/18 ***1/2
Rush by Maya Banks (1)Yz - 3/6 ****
Fifty Shames of Earl Grey by Fanny Merkin (2)Yvonne - 3/1
Suzanne - 3/19 *****
Avoiding Responsibility by K.A. Linde (1)Argie - 2/27
Love Unrehearsed by Tina Reber
Love Is the Higher Law by David Levithan
Skin by Kylie Scott
Faithful Place by Tana French
Motorcycle Man by Kristen Ashley
Chase in Shadow by Amy Lane
The Island by Lisa Henry
I have already read Chase in Shadow in the past and loved it - though trigger warning for depression and suicide attempts. So I think I'll go with Fifty Shames of Earl Grey because it sounds hilarious and I could do with a few good laughs now that the flu has caught me
I am going to read All Over You for sure, but may also read one or two others if I can find the time.FINISHED 2/28/13 I liked this book. A little short for my tastes but enjoyable just the same. ***
read at Feb. 24. 3.5 starsI really liked this novella. It's a great prequel with chapters alternating between both characters and it gives us a nice glimpse how Lucas and Sienna met. Hot, sweet and emotional.
read at Feb. 25. 2.5 starsI actually enjoyed novella so much that I immediately read 'Devoured' after and I admit I regret it, because magic from 'All Over You' is all gone. Story is told in first person pov by Sienna and is sometimes boring and many times whiny. Also there are so many attempts to copy 50 Shades (for example:there is contract signing here also...).
Read avoiding responsibility, I have to say lexi is one of my least favorite characters ever! I found her very annoying.
My flu is long since gone, but yesterday and this morning I had several good laughs reading
- everything that bugged me when I tried to read Fifty Shades of Grey and had to give up after a bit more than one chapter is in this book... but exaggerated so much that it is funny again. To write that bad on purpose is a feat in and on itself. 4 stars from me
Yvonne wrote: "My flu is long since gone, but yesterday and this morning I had several good laughs reading
