Jennifer W | 2175 comments Have you ever thought, "someday I'd like to have enough time to sit down and write a novel?" Who has that kind of time, anyway? None of us do. But some of us are just crazy enough to attempt it anyway... in a month.

Yes! Nanowrimo time is back! (http://www.nanowrimo.org/) Starting November 1st and ending November 30th, some of us will devote what spare minutes we have to cranking out a novel of 50,000 words. It may not be a very good novel, but it feels amazing to watch the word and page counts rise. Come join us!

Jayme(theghostreader) (jaymetheghostreader) I have written a book while I was in college. I got it self published.

Jenn How interesting, fun and challenging. I may just sign up and try this.

Leslie Shimotakahara (lshimo) I have a friend who took up this challenge last year and enjoyed the frenzy, but for me, I need more than a month to let the ideas percolate.... I am currently writing chapter eight of a memoir I started nine months ago. That's about the pace I can handle, if things aren't too hectic at work. My publisher tells me I must finish it by April, so she can release it for next fall.

Laura | 14 comments A novel? No. But at the encouragement of one of my professors, I am currently writing a memoir type book. Yes, I'm writing a memoir at age 25. What could I have to say about life. Well, my best friend(who I fondly called "Brother") passed away December 7, 2010. That day my world changed forever. Never in my wildest dreams, did I ever imagine a world without him in it. We were best friends and spent practically every spare moment with each other. I'm chronically my journey through the grief process. I've had a few peers who have lost friends and siblings read some of it and say that is has been beneficial to them to see that they were not alone in their grief. We'll see where this journey takes me. I know writing has been beneficial to me in my grief. That's what's important.

Bloomin’Chick (Jo) aka The Eclectic Spoonie (bloominchick) So sorry for your loss Laura and good luck with the memoir. Welcome to CoL btw in case I missed you over in the Intro's thread!

Nancy Good luck Laura - it sounds like a comforting idea - to write about your loss. I always think the Nano thing sounds so cool, but never have the time. I would have to extend it over a while. Leslie - I know its been a while since your comment but I loved the word percolate! Best wishes Laura...
