Okay, do you think that Joe and Elvis have a bromance and if so what do you think has happened between them?

And Joe did hold Elvis' hand when he was in hospital in . . . Was it L.A. Requiem?
I'm a bit disappointed that there aren't more folks participating in this discussion. I'd be interested in more points of view.

Was it in Forgotten Man when Elvis was shot? There was a Reacher vs Pike discussion by a reviewer that's a fb friend. Pike won hands down as far as who kicks butt. Some called Reacher "comic booky" as far as a character. I don't usually get this vested in characters but there's something about Pike. I think because Pike is capable of deep emotions. He's a tragic figure.
There's a few participating in the discussion board at RC's facebook page. I don't want RC to read what I write.lol

Jodi, I think RC made a brilliant move beginning with L.A. Requiem, when he decided to delve into Joe's and Elvis's backgrounds and psychologies. As I've said before, I always liked Joe and Elvis, but I began to care about them as characters when I learned about their histories.
In The Enemy, Lee Child goes back in time to when Reacher is an MP and his Mother and brother are alive. It gives insight into Reacher's background, but it didn't resonant with me to the same degree that Joe's and Elvis' did.

Saw this on RC's facebook page and thought I'd share it.
So the Smokin' Hot Evil Angels at Putnam made me shoot a video for THE SENTRY. (Okay, okay--they didn't exactly have to hold a gun to my head.) And media blogger, Pop Culture Nerd, was on hand to record yours truly and the video crew in action. Visit PCN's site and click the cover of THE SENTRY to check out her flick--it is way cool and funny.

What do you think are Elvis and Joe's favorite Christmas traditions and carols?
Well since I started this, I'll offer my humble thoughts:
The Cat: I think that Elvis will give him a little extra beer with his meals for the holiday season and Joe will continue to allow him to sit on his lap. The cat will give Joe and Elvis the gift of his presence without biting or scratching.
Elvis: Will probably pine for Lucy. And he will probably look to avoid mistletoe whenever he encounters Carole Starkey during the holidays or not. I can also see Elvis being a secret Santa for children at an orphanage or something like that. Also, I can see Elvis watching all of the Christmas specials and movies on Christmas Eve and Day and being very sentimental about family and friends.
Joe: He'll probably make sure that young Peter is doing well with his new family and he will get his employees the latest in weaponry. I see him as being a fan of The Grinch Who Stole Christmas and A Christmas Story.
John Chen: Will ask/beg Santa for tang, but will not receive it.
Carole Starkey: Will hope that Elvis will be under her tree wrapped in a bow.

LOL!!!
Do you think Joe and Elvis go out and cut down Elvis a tree.
I could see them going off camping for the holidays since they have no family but each other.
John will never get any.lol
I could see Carol making some changes to herself to attract Elvis...make him jealous.
I think Carol will bring catnip for the cat.
I'll vote for Jingle Bells.

Maybe Carole will flirt with Joe.
Yeah I can see our guys cutting down a tree and decorating it at Elvis's A-frame. Maybe they'll bake cookies. Gingerbread men packing heat.

Just finished reading Indigo Slam.
My favorite Joe Pike moment in Indigo Slam was when he said to the youngest of the Hewitt family, "Little Girl. I'll protect you."
I paraphrased, but you get the point. I'll bet that most female Joe Pike fans swooned when they read that bit.

Please tell me when you've read The Sentry. I have some questions. Thanks.

I agree all the way. Elvis and Joe are great!
Dorothy, welcome. It's always nice to have another person join in the conversation about Elvis and (swoon) Joe Pike.
